Consider sharing it with your friends.

Instagram is sweeping the nation. It even seems more popular for young up and comers than
Twitter. Everyone seems to have an Instragram.

Artists like Lady Gaga have their instragam photos online at Web.stagram for easy viewing and sharing. Gaga rocks. Click her photo to see what I'm talking about. Do you have a Web.stagram?

Gaga Instagram Photo

And now there is a movie called Hiitcock that wants you to submit your creepy Instagram photos and tag them with #Hitchshots I think all students should participate in this. Why not? If youi're an Alfred Hitchcock fan, I can't think of a funner way to play along.

Hitchcock Instagram Photos

Great article on Mashable about how to partiicpate and submit your #Hitchshots. Who's in?

Instagram is my favorite social media site. As someone who is working towards a career in fashion, I like to try to Instagram a couple times a week, whether its my nail polish or my favorite necklace. I also love being able to have a constant feed of pictures instead of just words. There is a constant feed of images from celebrities, designers and my friends. I also think its great that companies are using this social media site as a way to get consumers involved with contests. Using Web.stagram is great when I don't have my phone by me, but I do prefer using my phone for checking and using Instagram.

Student

Honestly I have never really used instagram and don't plan on starting. I feel as though many people get an instagram as a means of showing off their new pictures and it appears to me to be just another social media fad that will soon die out. I can see the benefits for it being used as a means of storing pictures for later viewing, however personally I cannot see anyone using this website for too long. Facebook will stay more popular than this website for reasons being that it incorporates the elements that instagram uses plus much more.

Student

I've personally never gotten the infatuation with Instagram. There are so many other media platforms to share your pictures on (we all have Facebook and Twitter already) and I guess I feel like most people don't exactly care what kinda pictures you want to share anyway. This video kinda describes what i'm talking about. However, I can see how it would be interesting and cool to follow your favorite celebrity to see what they post.

Student

I just recently joined the world of instagram. I have to say it's a pretty cool concept but what makes it different than just posting a pic directly on your social media sites? I like the idea that it gives you the ability for people to follow your life through pictures and not just stautses and updates. Instead the picture is a supplement to your status.

Student

I personally don't have either instagram nor 'Web.stagram'. While this app seems to be interesting, I feel like there are way too many of social media lines currently. I also own a Facebook page, blog, Twitter page, Google+, etc; I feel like I have more than enough of social media already.  Therefore, I wouldn't get another social media such as, 'Web.stagram'. I would rather post photos on my other social media page. Although, lots of celebrities are now seems to be using Instagram and Web.stagram and interact with people, and that lead to gather more people on those webites. I would not lie, this app does sound quite interesting.

Student

Just like Instagram, I don't have a 'Web.stagram.'  However, being a huge Alfred Hitchcock fan, this app is just enough to persuade me to get one.  Having a Twitter account, Facebook profile, and blog on Tumblr seem to be enough for me along the lines of social media.  Having an Instragram seems to be the one media that'll put me over the edge of having 'too much' social media interaction. Although, seeing companies and celebrities starting to use Instragram to reach out to consumers and fans, is beginning to change my opinion on the popularity of Instagram, and maybe I'll be the one signing up for an account in a few months.

Student

I actually don't have a web.stagram but it does sound interesting. Being able to take a look at photos that celebrities take is an attention graber for some. Also being able to take your own photos and share them with others-sounds like a creative addition to social media.

Student

I do not have a web.stagram, and have never heard of it until reading this.  I find this site interesting, and would be more willing to use this site than other photo websites.  Lady Gaga does take interesting photos and I like her creativity.

Student

I do not have a web.stagram but I like the idea of it. I think that it is a great way to share photos and it gives easier access to celebrity happenings and events that they attend.

Student

Instagram is such a great resource to use these days.  A ton of people are on it, including celebrities.  So is someone like Lady gaga takes a picture with a product, business will most likely increase; its like free advertising!  The hashtags especially help with this fact and create more of an interaction between followers.  Instagram is continuing to grow and will keep gaining speed!

Student

I was very skeptical about joining instagram only because of my lack of passion for social media but as I began to see my friends interact with it and all of the different people you had an opportunity to connect with changed my mind. I enjoyed the fact that you can follow certain celebs and get a sense of their everyday life through photos. One of the first follows was Kevin Durant and he had mentioned "KOTD" kicks of the day which helped inspired my blog, because I also have a passion for shoes, and instagram helped me see multiple aspects and views from other #SneakerHeads.

Student

I think Instagram is a great way for companies to become involved within social media. It is a fun and interavtive way for people to give feedback, joke around, learn more, and see to understand the personality of a company. The Hiitcock idea I think is great. I think it is a fun way for people to gain interest about the movies and by adding the hastag it allows the pictures to be easily found based on category, and people with similiar interests all around the world can see and laugh with the other contestants opinions. The more people get involved the bigger the uproar will become about the excitment for the movie. I think students most definitly should participate.

Student

I agree that instagram is a great way for comapanies to promote themseves and become involved with social media.  Everyone can use it, celebrities alike.  Therefore, different campanies can potentially gain business just from someone like Lady gaga instagraming a product.  The hashtags especially help with promoting campanies and products.  More and more people are getting involved and it will only continue to grow.

I joined instgram this summer and it has been exciting and intresting to watch it grow just in that short time. I personally check instgram everyday, multiple times a day. It is fun to see not only what my friends and family are doing (or cherish) but also my favorite celebrities and cultural icons. I am beginning to enjoy and use it more than I use other social media. It is intresting because most people will select only a few pictures from an important night to post so, you really get to see the highlights of their evening as opposed to slugging though an entire album of pictures. It is also a way that I can see new items from stores I shop and also when they have sales. I shop at a Birmingham botique, Caruso Caruso and they also upload new merchandise when it comes in as well as pictures of flyers when sales/specials are occuring. It has not only become a way to edit and be a "photographer" but to find information.

My work, University Activities Board, just added an instagram account. It's awesome! We use it for competitions mostly. It's been incredibly effective in driving students to our website, facebook and twitter accounts. We want to get the word out about who UAB is, what we do and how you can get involved. So far, so good.

Student

I did have an instragam. I will always use it whenever some of the shock moments. There are so many moments that you will treasure. It is colorless when you write about it. Only picture can record. In this case, I really like Instragam especially when smart phones are popular now. Taking photo whenever you like is possible now.

Personally, I think instagram will be a quick trend.  I haven't gotten into this social media channel.  My little sister has an instagram and when she shows me the pics on it, it always seems to be either food, a sunset or alcohol.  While I'm not big on photography, I do have an appreciation for professional pieces; not amateur.  I think that this is a fad that will come and go...at least I'm hoping.  I really like facebook and twitter because people upload pictures on occasion and it's usual group shots of friends or something interesting.  I could go on and on, but I won't.  I think it's a nice outlet but not for me!

Instagram is a fun way to share your life with friends and the world. Our generation is striving to be individuals and to be seen as different and unique. Instagram has become so popular so fast because it allows us to do just that, share our unique experiences while being creative and different because no two pictures will be the exact same. The world is such an open market that instagram allows consumers to share their favorite places and products in an isntant and to do social media marketing for brands. This tool is just begining to see the impact it will have on marketing in the near future.

Student

Indeed Intragram is sweping the nation! Me and most of my friends have and frequently use the social media platforrm. What better way to create buzz, promote yourself or just have fun, than to share pictures. I will participate in the Hictchcok campaign!

Instagram is a great way to connect and get in touch with others, including celebrities. I believe it is very similar to Twitter in that the celebrities and others can actually form a new and deeper relationship with people, as you get a little insight into their life. I personally use Instagram frequently and I think that it is a lot of fun to look at pictures of other friends and people I know. That's awesome that he got to meet a huge celebrity like Lady Gaga. I personally don't think that I would participate in submitting my creepy photos because I dont think that I really have too many creepy photos...especially on Instagram. If I did, I do think that it is an awesome idea and look forward to seeing the outcome.

Student

This is a very interesting article and campaigns. From my perspective, essential to market on social media is to increase interaction. By letting users join in the content production, the two celebrities will increase the fame effectively. I think a more interesting idea is to letting them have a dialogue (not necessarily in real format) and could be front paged!

Student

I think that it is interesting how instagram has really taken off in such a short time. I thought that it was nice how twitter sort of laid out the platform and then instagram took it and added its own twist to it. Overall though i think that it is a fun thing to use but really isnt that effective.

Instagram does seem to be sweeping the nation, especially in smart phone users. It seems like it’s the new thing to have and is almost replacing the photo sharing on facebook as people are using the two intertwined. Sadly I don’t have a smart phone hence no instagram account, but I’ m sure this soon will change.

I would like to work on Instagram and getting to familiar with this system. It is a brand new culture and great way to discover what is out there. It is a fashion design and more popular since there are lots of celeberities using it. Because it is are social media system, celeberities would lead followers develop the new system and post comments, then followers would spreads informations to others including their families, friends. I would like to discover what is new in the system and what it different than facebook and twitters?  As a brand new system, I would like to take a hitchshots and getting to know more friends.... Having fun in INSTAGRAM.

Before Instagram got popular I was under the impression it was just an app that made your pictures look 'cooler.' So, I would do it to all my picture-- Even some rather embarassing ones. Once I found out that people can actually see all the pictures I am editing, and that I already had 20 followers I went into panic mode and deleted some. Instagram is a great way to get inspired and to view thing you love, and on the other hand it is a great way for brands to promote themselves in a easy and conveinent manner. For instance, this morning on Instagram the yoga-ware company, LuLu Lemon was offering a free clothing item of choice for the first 100,000 followers. All you had to do was follow the company, like all their pictures, and upload one of the pictures onto your own Instagram. It was cool to see how much buzz this company was generating, and before I knew it my whole feed was pictures of yoga clothes. I love starting my morning with Instagram, and I espically love showing off my new puppy.

I'm basicly is a new user of instagram and I'm getting to love it! But I don't like to take that many pictures, I just love to see others pictures. so many people share funny or pretty or cool pictures and I can also see some movie stars' instagram. That is exciting part of instagram. however, I will participate in this activity and I'm sure it is going to be fun!

Student

So sad that I'm neither an iOS nor an Android user, and the developer of Instagram decides to remain focusing on the mobile platform. However, I'm really interested in such a contest, and how to use this platform for engaging people and marketing. Last week's Pinterest contest really inspired me a lot, so maybe I'll follow the #Hichshots online to see how it works. Thank you for sharing the resource!

I have never heard of Web.stagram before reading this blog article, however it seems to be very convenient as you can view and share pictures easily. I have used instagram for over a year now and I am beginning to like it more than any other social media site. What I like most about instagram is that it's straight to the point and very simple to use. You take a picture and you can filter it which ever way you like and friends are able to comment and like your picture. I like that theres no unnecesseary aspects to it and anyone can use it. I however, probably would not take part in uploading a creepy instagram picture to the movie Hilitcock because I am not a fan of the movie nor would I want other people to view the picture. Moreover, I would be open into looking at Web.stagram and possibly opening up my own account.

Student

I do not have a Web.stagram but I do have an Instagram. I think that Instagram is a fun way to make regular pictures look better and show friends. It's different than Facebook in the sense that I wouldn't just be posting 100 pictures at once. It would be one that I took time to edit and make the way I wanted it to look. Web.stagram seems okay for people who want to keep up with all the celebrities and their activities. Mine is only used for friends. I do not want a ton of random people to see and comment on my pictures especially if they are strangers. I use it to follow friend's activities and see their customized photos. I know nothing of the movie Hitchcock but it seems like a pretty good way to get your movie out there! I also know little about Alfred Hitchcock so I will not be participating in this event. If there were a movie I knew doing this I may think about participating. It is a very creative way to advertise to all kinds of people.

Student

I used Instagram before, I downloaded the app on my iphone. I like it very much because it is very interesting and it is easily to use. Users can upload every photo they take to Instagram for sharing; users also can easily enjoy other photos from other users. Instagram also has tools to make the photo to different styles or just make it seems beautiful. It just like twitter for photograph. I know Instagram had already bought by Facebook and become free app, and it is a very good opportunity that i think every one should try it. I don't know there is a web instagram, I think it is a great and smart idea that film or any companies, or events to use web instagram to do their propaganda, because every users can join the event and make the whole event on web instagram become very interesting.

Student

I do not have web.stagram or instagram although I have seen how people have been able to utilize it in a buisness sense.  At some point I do believe that I will have to become familiar with these programs to be successful in a business setting.  I do think it is interesting how celebrities are able to use these forms of social media to gain followers, and the same principles, i'm sure, could be applied for products that companies are promoting.

Student

I do have an Instagram and I am actually starting to prefer using it over Facebook and Twitter. In my eyes, Facebook is becoming used less and less, as Twitter and Instagram are growing. I do not have a Web.stagram but it does sound very interesting. I use instagram as my photo log, because as people say, "pictures are worth a thousand words". Also companies are starting to use instagram for offers and promotions. Recently, yoga brand Lulu Lemon had a promotion that the first 100,000 followers to follow and post about them would receive free items. Although I am not sure if this promotion is real, it did cause the company to receive many posts, follows, and likes. Users are starting to use Instagram more and more, as Facebook is starting to become a tool of the past.

I do not have a web.stagram, but i do have an instagram! I love it alot, it is so easy to use, especially with my iPhone. Its probably one of the more entertaining social networks out there, i love looking at other peoples pictures. But this hitchshots idea is great, i think it will bring alot of awareness to this movie by doing this, im in!

Student

I do have an instagram and I've grown to love it over the past few months. At first, I didn't really understand what I should do with it, but now that a lot of my friends have it, it makes for a pretty cool app to view everyone's pictures. I don't really use web.stagram though, I'd much rather just go on my phone and look at the pictures. Web.stagram's interface is kind of dull, especially compared with Instagram's new web profiles. Instagram actually just released their new web profiles today. It looks a lot like facebook's timeline. Check out Nike's Instagram...it's pretty cool. My user profile is loaded on it, but I have to manually type it in and I'm not able to follow new people or look at my feed yet, but I think that's on the way.

Student

I do not have a web.stagram or Instagram! It is the number one social media site that I will join after I purchase a smart phone. Instagram is a great way to show your creativity through contests like #Hitchshots. Not only that it's a great way to interact with your peers and represent yourself through pictures, rather than words or descriptions (like Twitter). As a tweeter who doesn't have Instagram, I can vouch for the fact that it can be frustrating not being able to visually represent your message. One day soon I will hop on aboard the Instagram train!

Student

I have an instagram because it's kind of like having a scrapbook on my phone with all sorts of fun filters to put on my photos. Web.stagram sounds just as fun, and something I'd definitely be willing to try out. However I'm not sure if I'd personally participate in #Hitchshots because I just don't know much about this upcoming movie or the Alfred Hitchcock, other than having seen Psycho many year ago. I just can't really see myself wanting to post "creepy" pictures of myself. A picture of me in the morning with no makeup and wild hair is probably scary enough.

Student

I definitely have an instagram profile. It is a fun way of staying connected to your friends in a way that is totally different from other social medias like facebook and twitter. However the "web.stagram" situation is something that I only see as vital to up and coming celebrities as opposed to every day people. With instagram you can set privacy settings so that users cannot view it without the profile person's consent. With webstagram however it is a great tool in that celebrities can share photos with fans, allowing them to share. However for users that aren't trying to gain notoriaty I find that instagram is a better tool

Student

I have an Instagram and I do think that it is awesome in some ways. Contests such as these are a great way to get the word out about things such as movies. It is a really cool tool for atheletes and celebrities to communicate with their fans. I love following my favorite athletes who take cool pictures of their family and events they are at. The one thing I do hate about Instagram however is the deception. Never trust a girl who takes any type of instagram picture with a filter. Not to be shallow but filters on Instagram make girls look way cuter than they actually are and once you meet them it just turns into a terrible situation because they tricked you into thinking they are cute. Other than that Instagram is awesome.

Student

I do have an Instagram. I started it just about 6 months ago and I was very reluctant at first because I never even take that many pictures. Eventually, my sisters convinced me to make an account. Even though I only post one picture every week or two, I like going through other cool pictures that my friends post. I think it was a great idea to allow users to use different effects on their pictures. I see many people that have Facebook or Twitter profile pictures that are made with Instagram effects. I've also seen a lot of companies use Instagram. It is a great way to take cool pictures of products and post them for millions of people to see.

Student

Instagram is a great social media outlet that not only is a great site on its own, but is also well integrated with the already existing sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Instagram is a collaboration of being able to post photos and create a short blurb about what the photo is or what it means to the creator. Even the use of #hashtags, such as the #Hitchshots hashtag, is another great way to integrate social media tools and link sites together to make everything more personal between audiences. I have never heard of Web.stagram, but it is definitly a tool that I will look into using. Instagram, sort of like Facebook and Twitter, can really get you the more personal interaction with famous celebrities such as Lady Gaga. Photos, directly from the celebrities themselves, can be posted and viewed. That is what I like about Instagram - you can get a glimps of the sources life all in pictures. And even better, you can link the pictures to other social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Web.stagram. This in return creates a social profile for each and every user.

I don't have a Web.stagram. I understand the need to be up to date with this information as a professional in the field but it's one thing to do this for the client who has the need to be out there but what if you value your privacy? I have never feel more exposed than I have now being a part of all these different social media sites. Nowadays your interviews for jobs includes a Google search of your name. It can be a good thing but we don't live in a perfect world and people's perceptions influence their decisions - like hiring me or not. I must admit the Hitchcock idea is pretty cool and I finally get to get a closer look at what Lady Gaga looks like.

I do not have an instagram. I just got a new iPhone so this is something that I will have to set up an account for. The thing I don't like about Instagram is how it floods all my social feeds, and most of the time I find the photos very repetative. I do enjoy the photos of scenery, but when I see five pictures from five different people about a bottle of alcohol, or what they just cooked through a filtered lens, I do get a bit irked. Maybe my views will change when I finally open up an account and flood everyone else with pictures.

With that being said, I do like the idea of hastagging pictures relavent to a movie theme. If someone is creative enough and willing to put the time into a quality photo with a relavent purpose, then I think it is a great way to drive awareness about the movie.

I absolutely love using instagram! I created an account at the beginning of this year and I am definitely addicted.  I use it to post random pictures of my friends, dogs, any part of my life I find beautiful enough to capture.  It was not until the first day of this class when I realized businesses were using it as a tool.  I think instagram is such a fun thing, but I can see how through hashtags, using current location, etc. could promote a business or product.

Until now, I had never heard of web.stagram.  I thought 'grammin only existed on my iphone... cool idea though.  It definitely better integrates the concept and will reach more viewers with the easy, online location as well as on mobile devices.

I really like the idea of the #hitchshots.  This is a very unique (and super easy) way for fans to interact with the movie.  I think it will definitely increase hype and connect fans on a deeper level.  This entire concept is great.  I am newly engaged and have been wedding planning (pinterest, of course) and found out that several couples are encouraging their wedding guests to ingstagram photos and use hashtags like #adamspartyoftwo or #brownwedding.  What better way to check out everyone's photos the next day by searching the hashtag.  Genius!  i will definitely be encouraging the use of instagram on my wedding day! Good thing everyone already knows I am a hashtag junkie. :)

I agree that Instagram is sweeping the nation!  I'm loving it!  With Photography as my second major, it is SUCH a fun way to share my photos and my artwork almost immediately, instead of heading to Photoshop to edit and post later.  I would agree that it might be becoming as popular as Twitter - with easy share options, Instagram was smart to purposfully link to other social media accounts, making their name more prevelant.  I did not know about Web.stagram!  This blog post made me research it further, though.  It is interesting how they are making outside sources for continual postings.  That contest sounds like a good promotional idea - WITH celebrity endorsements!  I would partcipate in it if I was more interested in Alfred Hitchcock...

I have an instagram and I am constantly on it. It is easy to use and I love that people are using it for business purposes also. I love the visual aspect of it because I am following people on instagram that I wouldn't normally follow on twitter because their content is visually enticing, such as artists, make-up artists and boutiques. I do not currently use web.stagram but I will look into it closer. I believe that instagram was originally available for iphone users before it launched for android users, and I think with programs like this the users like to feel exclusive and that is what makes the application so attractive. It is fun to follow some of your favorite celebrities and see what their fashion represents that particular day or what they ordered at their favorite resturant.

I LOVE INSTAGRAM!!! I find photos more creative than posts on Twitter. I think that is why it is so successful for our younger generation. While twitter is a great way to share information and direct customers to a brand, Instagram is a way to advertise or share visually stimulating content that can truly draw in followers. As for the Hitchcock movie, using Instagram to get participation from younger adults is a wonderful strategy to make this upcoming premier sucessful.

I don't have an Instagram account yet, because I don't even have time handling my other social media accounts. But I love photography. I don't know what Instagram advantage in photography yet, but I will get an account soon.  I think I won't be able to participate Hitchshots in time but I do think it's always a good idea to tap into media which growing popularity. It shows that you are always at the edge of development....
