Consider sharing it with your friends.

We're reaching the end of the semester and you've been exposed to lots of new media marketing strategizes and techniques. While the curriculum covers a vast amount of information in reality we've only scratched the surface. Any given lesson could be an entire course. Additionally, there's lots of topics we didn't cover at all.

We often do a Q&A as part of the last class. Here is your opportunity to ask us questions about anything. It could be related to a lesson we covered, a lesson we didn't cover, work, getting a job or life in general.

Let us know what you'd like to know and we'll select a handful of questions to answer next week.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. As a professional writing major, we don't get a lot of experience with in-depth marketing ideas like the ones we've covered. I'd like to know more about how I can communicate my level of SEO knowledge in job interviews. A lot of SEO content we discussed were the basics, so I know that none of us are experts, but I feel like I learned enough to put it under my "skills" section of my resume.

After a semester of in-depth understanding of the same brand, and I have learned a lot of skills from this class. I am very curious about the question is: in the upcoming graduation, facing the graduation of us. If we want to work in advertising in the future, which ability is the most important in the interview. And how to improve?

Student

It's been a semester that I have done a lot of research on a brand, this is a very parctical expereince for me to understand the process of brand market. We went through almost every basic part in market to find out what are those brands expereincing and what should they focus on next step. It's quite a real feeling of us to touch the advertising and marketing. I even like the brand "SUBWAY" so much that went to the store several times in this semester. I wish I can have more chance to do project like this with knowing more brands situation. My question is how should I get to understand the digital strategy more detailed in specific perspectives?

Student

Again, I feel like I have learned a lot of valuable skills from this class. Especially with my last year of school, I appreciated a class that I could apply my skills to jobs in the future. Even though I am a Communications Major, I felt like this class gave me a lot of insight about marketing and advertising. It's scary to think about the future but I am excited for that next step into the real world. My question is that when it comes to applying and interviewing for jobs, what specific advertising and marketing skills do employers look for or would want to see on a resume?

Student

I have learned a lot in this class throughout the semester and I really appreated how you had us take what we learned and applied it to real worlds problems.  A question that I have is how to communicate with your client what you think they're doing wrong in a respectful way without offending anyone?

Student

I just want to start by saying that this has been by far my favorite class I have taken at MSU. I found all of the material covered to be extremely valuable information for us to be learning as young professionals.

As I am applying for jobs, many of them ask for 1-2 years of experience. I am one of many college students who has not had the opportunity of an internship yet, therefore have no experience aside from what I have been doing in classes for 4 years. That being said, I feel as though I could use my work from this class as "experience."

My question is this: how can I make myself stand out, without that so-called "experience?"

Student

I learned A TON while taking this class, but now I would like to know how to use my knowledge to get ahead of the competition. How can I leverage what I learned in this class to leverage myself while applying to jobs, post graduation?

Student

How can you decide which digital content is best for a brand? For example, a video vs. a blog post, picture etc

Student

Although I have learned tons of content about Digital Marketing throughout this semester, I am wondering the best ways to seperate yourself from the competition as far as getting hired. As someone who is still looking for employment post-graduation, I was curious if you had any tips to help boost my chances.

Student

I learned so much  this semester throughout this class. There were a lot of topics that I had no idea what they were or meant before this class. My question is what do you believe is the best way to get an intership is? I'm very interested in getting an intership this summer but I'm not quite sure where to start. I want an intership where I can learn a lot about advertising. Thank you!

Student

I really learned a lot this semester from this class, I never pay attention to one brand and chase it for a whole semester for it's social media marketing, and also give me a chance to make strategy for a brand, also I am pretty lucky that I picked a brand in the field I like and farmiliar with, and also this is a great class to tought us how to use social media to increase the market, I really like this class.

Student

I really enjoyed taking this class and learned a lot from it. My question is do you think it's hard to get a job in social media or e-commerce because of the competitveness and what suggestions do you have to help make yourself stand out when applying for jobs?

Student

I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot. I think I'll have other class to learn those definitions deeper. I believe that this class will be the knowledge tree of digital strategy that shows the classifications and connections of every part. And I would like to find more "leaves" and "flowers" to detail my tree. Thus, the first "leave" I want to ask is how to make an accurate audience persona. And should we make more than one persona in an advertising strategy? If so, what kind of charactristics we should catch to make audience personas, and why?

Student

I don't have anything to ask but I learned a lot from this class and it helped me with my other classes (that was completely unrelated to advertising)(It helped with my entreprenuership class). I think it really helped me understand the other side of what I do, which is design web pages. I had an idea about it all but it was never really clear to me/ I never went out of my way to learn it. So thanks for this class. It was great.

Student

First of all, thanks for professors' teaching. It is a very good class, and I learn a lot from it. Even though it just covers the surface knowledge, it gives us the whole constructure of new media, which is necessary for our following study. If it is fine, I would like to know more about Inbounding Marketing. I think the definitions of new words in this part is unfamiliar with me but important. Fucosing on contents, I think this concepts will be more vital in advertising and marketing areas in the future. I hope I can get more information about it.

What is a good way to get started with affiliate marketing ?

Student

Is there a trend among the types of brands we looked at (typically national or internationally known) in terms of the execution of their marketing? Do they usually have in-house staff doing this work, or do they contract with a marketing agency?

Student

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude. After learning a lot of useful knowledge at the end of the semester, I have deepened my understanding of the brand, not only the brand itself, but also a lot of online marketing. I also learned how to pass the excellent LinkedIn. The channel knows more alumni and potential job opportunities, thanks to the professor for bringing me the knowledge I can't usually learn.

Student

After learning all about how social media is very prominent in todays' society, I understand that i have to be able to use it excellently. My brand's biggest issue was their social media accounts. My brand was trying to market on social media platforms, but was not the most successful. I came to the conclusion that it was because they are a generation ahead of my generation, where we grew up with technology. When I go to apply for a job, will they make knowing how to work social media a requirement? When my generation are the leaders of companies, will other ways of marketing become obsolete? It is hard to think that other ways of advertising and marketing will still be a thing in the future because digital advertising and marketing are the most used right now, and they have the most reach.

Student

What is one way that I can set my LinkedIn profile apart from others?

Student

Students majoring in advertising are faced with so many job choices that it is difficult for us to find a suitable job , whether job in the future or internship, do you have any suggestions for us?

Student

In what ways do you think the industry of digital marketing will change between now and even as soon as next year (if anything)?

Thanks again for a great semester!

Student

I have thoroughly enjoyed this class. I think that I learned a lot of new things about the digital marketing world I didn't know before. My questions are how important do you believe coding will be in the future? Do you guys know how to code personally, and if so how did you learn?

Student

This class was a big information gainer for me. I really enjoyed taking this class and learned so much from it. My question is, will there be a job for people who will control social media or another type of media vehicle in the company near future or even in the current?

Student

How do you see the future of marketing integration? What is the importance of cloud systems and marketing computation and automation? Do you predict any new ad formats that will make a difference in the industry?
