I have yet to try Facebook Live. However, I really do not enjoy this feature on Facebook. I hate receiving the notification that someone has gone live. I am not opposed to seeing the Live video at the top of my Facebook feed, but I think Facebook should provide you an option to receive notifications for Live feeds or specificy if you want a notification if a particular person goes live. I do think Facebook Live is a unique concept though. It really allows the viewer to feel a connection with the person producing the video. Also, it allows people to see events in real time which could be beneficial for crimes and protests. There has even been stories about deaths being caught on Facebook Live. However, I do think Facebook Live could produce some ethical issues such as video taping someone without their permission.

I have tried Facebook live and I dis enjoy it! It was so fun to see all the people currently watching my video feed.

The most compelling use of FB live that I have seen would be recently for all of the protests regarding the elections and marches around the world about a variety of issues facing society.

I can see this tool becoming a staple for the launch of many a product or new store for brands and so on.

There really are limitless possiblities and the brands now just need to be creative enough to figure out how to sell us on it.

I have not tried Facebook Live yet, but I have a lot of friends that have used it. It's very cool to see companies like Facebook adding new technology like this. The most compelling use of Facebook Live was of Connor McGregor before a fight. It gave an inside look into what goes on before a fight and a lot of people want to see that. This will be an important element of future broadcasting, it will be supplemented by regular tv but will give a more intimate view of the event.

Student

Facebook live is a new way to attrack people use facebook. When you watch the facebook live radio. In fact, that is another way media indusrty. Thourgh facebook live, friends can watch the same view and share the moment with people who ever you know or unknow. More and more poeple will see the facebook live and use it. That propbaly become more and more popular in the future.

Student

While I haven't used Facebook Live yet, I have definitely seen a lot of them on my timeline- the most compelling being the Facebook Live session I watched for a graduate program I'm interested in. It was extremely useful, because it was informative and easy to ask questions in real-time. I think it portrays a new future for broadcasting that allows for something users haven't seen before- a firsthand view of live events from people actually experiencing them as they happen.

Student

I have not gone facebook live yet but I have enjoyed watching my fellow facebook friends do it. In the most recent one I watched, my friends did a talk show about their fantasy football team after going to Burger Rama at the Riv... so you could say it was pretty entertaining. I have also seen a lot of live feed from the city of Chicago when they won the World Series. It was pretty cool because I am from Chicago and I was able to feel like I was there in real time.

Student

I don't know much about Facebook live quite yet. I will get random notifications from Facebook if one of my friends is going Live, but most of the time I do not look into it or follow them. It definitely has the potential for great communication and broadcasting, but I don't think its is there yet.

I have not seen a lot of Facebook Live videos. Even though I am not a huge fan of Facebook, Facebook live has always seemed like a different and innovative way to advertise and share content throughout social media. Overall, I have seen a few people do videogame walkthroughs and "vlogs". All have seemed interesting and a cool way to share content to their follows. My company could use Facebook Live as a possible "extra" to their campaign such as product reviews, vlogs on videogame expos like E3, or videogame walkthroughs! Facebook live would be a wonderful way of GameStop connecting to their costumers and providing more traffic to their site!

Now that the election is over and many Americans are unhappy with the results of this election, I have seen Facebook Live being used to stream many protests going on around the country. There have been multiple protests being streamed and it was interesting to see everyone's comments because more of the people who were angry were commenting on the videos rather than people who were happy about the election.

Student

Through looking at the comments, I saw someone say that they've seen people stream movies through Facebook Live, which allows people to comment throughout the movie, and overall creates a more social surrounding around the general nonsocial movie.  While I don't think Facebook intended for this service to be used like that, and I'm sure it could create some legal issues, it is definitely a unique way to use the feature.  I'm interested to see if this is a trend that picks up, or if people won't find it as intersting as I do.

I'd say the most interesting and therefore arguably the most compelling is the connection between Facebook users through an online joke and streaming the Bee Movie live. There is a meme on the internet about the romance between a bee and a human woman as seen in the Bee Movie and due to this someone actually managed to stream the entire movie live for an audience engaging in funny comments and reactions during each minute of the movie. The future of broadcasting isn't really changed by this but the movie goer experience could be changed. While of course no film enthusiast will substitute his/her home theater setup for this, it is simply just another creative way to experience a movie with complete strangers.

I have only gotten a chance to use Facebook Live once and it was at a breast cancer walk with my mentoring program. The most compelling use of Facebook Live is when people cstch police shootings and post it on Facebook, I feel like it compells people to bring out their phones as soon as they think something is going to happen to make sure what ever is going on the world can see it as it is happening. It also holds people accountabe for their actions.

I have not tried Facebook live on my personal Facebook page, but I have had to use Facebook live for work.  I work through the alumni association at Michigan State and going live makes a huge difference.  Because the Alumni Association is a business page I can see the impressions and the views on the videos we post.  We recently posed a live video and following that (about a week later) we posted a normal video.  The difference in impressions largely favors the live video by at least 100,000 more views.  I think many things attribute to that fact one of them being that it is live.  People love watching something viewed live because they feel like they are there and can comment in real time.  I think another huge factor is the viewers receiving notification when, we as a company, go live.  Being able to reach your audience by communicating when you're posting is a huge advantage and is free!  I think the most useful use of Facebook live was the live stream of the debate.  I believe that anyone with internet access beiing able to watch something so important is a great step in the right direction.  I follow many media outlets on Facebook and I see news stations posting Facebook live storys constantly, I believe it will advance the media relm and change the way people recieve information forever.

Student

I have not tried Facebook Live before. I have indeed watched a Facebook live before. The most compelling use of Facebook Live i've seen would have to be in regards to the killings of blacks by cops being recorded live. It's crazy that so many unfortunate incidents have happened and some of them have been broadcasted live. I think in regards to the future of broadcasting it propels it forward because we live in a world of the now.

I watched a live space video on Facebook live. It was incredible to see real time space work happen.  Looking at my brand, Draymond Green, he could use this to show how he prepares for games.  It could also be used to show personal lives.  He could use this to show how he spends a typical day.  People are able to share everything over the internet nowadays.  It is truly remarkable how connected people can be through the internet.  Our world will benefit greatly from this technology.

Student

I actually have not tried Facebook live, but I heard that it is very useful for a number a things. It reminds me of Periscope, the app. I dont think I like that and I think that Facebook should stick to what they are known for and not try to stay current with ohter apps.

Student

I have watched a video or two on Facebook live. I think it is very cool and a great new feature for Facebook. The most compelling part to me is how you can chat with everyone that is watching the video in real time. Very cool!

Student

I have never seen or heard of Facebook live before reading this post but after seeing a few examples it's clear it can be a powerful tool if used effectively. I think the future of news programs and broadcasting for current events and community announcements could all be done through facebook live, making the traditional 6 o'clock news obsolete. Facebook has so many users that connect daily and this tool just takes Facebook to the next level of social media.

Student

I think Facebook Live is a great new feature, however I don't really watch the videos when they are live because of how difficult it is to load them on my phone.  I think this is a major drawback to the feature because it can be used in so many interesting and fun ways.  The videos I have watched have been ones that are of interest to me, some were DIY videos and another was of the end of the Boston Marathon broadcasted by a work friend.  I think the feature could have a great impact on political outreach.  For example, if a candidate is holding a special event or giving an important speech, they can broadcast to all their followers instantly through their social media.  This gives them even more media coverage and reaches young audiences that aren't regularly watching debates and speeches on TV.

Student

Cool feature that Facebook added to their already established platform.  Whenever I see one of my friends is live, I most certainly have to check it out.  For relationship purposes, its cool to see what people are doing and how they are interacting with others.  Facebook has traditionally been a network to connect with people across the world and to continue to foster relationships with friends and family.  I think Facebook live is a genius idea that combats the growing use of Snap Chat.  For marketing purposes, Facebook live should thrive.  Companies can now use this to promote products and use live demos to highlight features/benefits to a massive target market.

Student

I have yet to use facebook live, but I have seen people using it. So far, I havent seen anything really compelling with facebook live. I have seen parents post live videos of their kids playing sports but that's about it.

Student

I have only watched a few Facebook Live videos. The most compelling one that I have seen would be one of my friends did a funny live video of making a smoothie. Even though it was so normal, he added funny commentary and made it entertaining. I have also watched a couple Buzzfeed Live videos. I feel like this will make a lot of broadcasting even more current. People can live broadcast their own stories to show all their friends and family.

Student

I have never used this feature. But I saw someone use it. I think this feature just like Twitch, the diffrences bwtween this 2 apps are twitch is focusing on the game live, facebook can do any live shows. I think in the future people will not sit in front of tv to watch shows, they can watch shows through apps at anytime anywhere.

Student

I personally have not tried Facebook Live, but my team has used it at work and it seems to generate a lot of intereaction from people usually more than a normal post. I don't watch many Facebook Live videos, but I do see them and I think it's a great concept that will really go far and broaden what people can do on social media. It is interesting yet kind of frieghtening that people can live stream anything from anywhere, good or bad. I think it opens a lot of doors for broadcasting in the future by giving people an inside look on people, events, etc. right there in the moment. Periscope is an older version in a sense to live stream video, do you think Facebook Live will drive that platform out?

Student

Facebook Live will be one of the biggest things this social media Juggernaut has to offer. I have seen television ads for it and have had numerous friends use it as well. I think businesses can use this to their advantage because of how genuine it is. I enjoy watching things that are live and not recorded just because I know they are not scripted and it is for the most part very honest. If a business were to put a representative on facebook Live to answer questions and give info about the company, it would give me more of a reason to trust the company and possibly become a new customer. I think people should also be cautious with this as well. With pure live content, people can post or do things they normally wouldn't do. I think overall it is a great concept and will do well overall.

Student

I have no experience of Facebook Live but I used to watching some similar live show by other mobile apps. The most compelling content to me is that host eat some interesting food, as well as introduce the taste and smell. I think in the future, some food-based companies can let those hosts to have their food to those potential consumers. So, I really expect that the Live steam can get benefits.

Student

I've used Facebook Live and I think it's awesome! It was a family video and my family members from Greece and Boston were able to comment on the video while I was recording and we were able to respond to them through the video. It was really awesome. I think a really cool use for it is workout gurus started using Facebook Live to post their workouts and do it with you as you are working out, and then after they are able to answer any questions concerning the workout. I think its a great way to interact with your viewers directly with no wait time. I also thought I noticed Twitter try to do a live option as well, so you know its a great idea when other media outlets try to mimic it.

Student

Eventhough I haven't use or watched a Facebook live, there are some similar platforms offering live streaming video for ordinary people by using mobile phone. Some famous anchors who have much more followers they may sign a contract with the platform to share the profits that they earn from followers. If followers like the anchor, they are able to send gifts to he or she, which are purchased using real money. And anchors can redeem the gift and withdraw money from the platform only if they sign contracts with the platform. So, that is how the procedure works.

For companies, a potential use of live video is making the ordinary people to endorse their product and using word of mouth to attract more customers.

Student

I didn't have a chance to use the Facebook Live program yet, but I saw some people use it. I think it has interesting features and it is unique to see what a person is doing at the moment. Also, it is a good place to connect with friends and more people, such as marketers. It can increase fans using their product and the app. I think for marketers it can attract more customers by showing their company as interesting, more human, and exciting.

Student

Personally, I have never used this feature. However, I have seen videos like this being streamed. I believe that in the future, many news channels will become eradiacated. The presidential debates already play on Facebook as a Live Video, so who's to say that Facebook will not be the only one who broadcasts the debates in the future?

Student

I do not go on Facebook too often, and actually never heard of this feature. This sounds like a really neat idea that holds a lot of potential. I could see Facebook having daily users who broadcast to viewers about various topics, from cooking videos, to current event, similarly to how Youtube functions. I could see Facebook potentially creating their own Global news source, having a professional team of weathermen, current events, etc. There are so many different possibilities!

Student

Facebook is very important for my daily life, I use it to knowing other post online and other vedio or news. I think the most compelling use of Facebook is that everyone can post a live video, and I can quickly connect with my friends in social network.  I think the future of broadcasting will be helpful for future business so that people can watch live online for different purpose.

Student

I have never personally used Facebook Live to stream something I am doing. Most of the Live posts I see are people streaming themselves walking through the mall or doing some meaningless activity and honestly, I could care less about what these people are doing. There is a lot of potential in Facebook Live and I have seen it used effectively on a few occasions. One stream that comes to mind is a livestream I saw from the Standing Rock riots. It allowed the world to get a live look of what is happening at these protests and cuts out and sort of distortion from mainstream media. The stream had tens of thousands of viewers and afterwords, the video had several million views. By simply showing the world exactly what they were seeing, this protester was able to gain exposure for the issue at hand and make a real difference.

Student

I have never tried Facebook Live yet. Only because I am not on Facebook much, I have too many family members on Facebook at them moment, so I kind of shy away from that when it comes to my social life. But I have seen a couple of Facebook videos and actually seen people record some videos as well. But I do agree that this technology does hold the potential to reshape the media industry, for instance. Especially with the #BlackLivesMatter movement, people are catching Police abusing their power on video and sharing with the world publicly. And move of these videos are going viral, and getting over millions of views in only a couple of days. It just shows how fast one post can spread. As for future of broadcasting, I think it just makes news for vibrant and very up to date with day to day events. Especially since not everyone watches the news, Facebook Live makes sharing news easier because almost everyone has a smartphone. It might either raise the job for broadcasting, but I also think it would lower it, only because almost anyone can share the exciting news with the world and not have to be apart of a newscast station.

Student

I, myself, have not tried Facebook Live yet, but I have seen others do it.  It's interesting to see what kind of technology is able to livestream directly to one of the biggest social media platforms there are. There is a chance this could be used by the President and other important people who would like to make a live update on things - or even gamers or Social Media stars or celebrities. I think the most compelling use and the most annoying use of Facebook live is when I used to follow BuzzFeed, for an hour long they were trying to pop an inflatable balloon that was growing as high as the ceiling, until I watched the whole thing to find out they used scissors to pop it.. It was very annoying. I feel like this has a lot of power for social activism movements, I have seen BlackLivesMatter Facebook Livestream postings, and even recently with the oil pipeline issue going on - it gives the people a real voice that is able to be spread across the social media platform to a possible larger audience.

Student

Several friends of mine have used facebook live to talk about random things and many of the times they are very funny as they answer people's questions live. This is the only Facebook Live ive seen but I think a lot of followers found it very funny and I could see it becoming more popular in society today ecspecially amongst celebrities and social lights. They could have an even stronger influence on media.

Student

I have not used the Facebook Lived Video before. However, I did watch the video that some people psoted on Facebook. I think these videos are pretty cool. For example I watched the Exclusive Arensen Wenger Interview On Sports Facebook page. These interview are post online right after the game which is really interesting. I believe in the future the boradcasting will be more successful.

Student

I think one really cool way to utilize Facebook Live and a way that I see on my feed, would be djs. It offers them a platform to showcase their skills and get their name and music out to thousands of people. They get real time reactions and can connect with the fans right away. I could see brands promoting Facebook Live posts of people in their brand or at a release. It builds hype around products and helps the consumer to feel the excitment as if they were there.

Student

I have never use the Facebook live video. I think this is a pertty good way to connect the people and friends. I had watched some funny Facebook Live video which is really attractable. For the future of broadcasting i think it will be more and more people using it, Becasue this is a good way to sale their product for the marketers.

Student

I think the facebook live video should be used for special events and sponsored events. The Facebook live video can be over used by people that are messing around or sometimes people are just bored and thinks its fun. Although some take it too far, others use it to show cool things they are doing and it can engage people that are interested. I have never used a Facebook live video, but I would only use it if I was doing something very interesting and cool.

Student

I have not used Facebook live, but used other live app to watch football games such as Twitter Live. It's a different experience from watch a game at home. First, watch the game and have a comment board on the side of the screen is interesting. You can read the funny comments at the same time as you are watching the game. And you also can leave a comment when you are watching the game. Secondly, same time I do not have friends watch the games together, Twitter live makes me feel I am watching games with a lot of people. Then, watch a game on mobile is very convinience, when you are outside do not have a television, you can just open you social media app and watch the game.

Student

I have not used Facebook live myself, but I watched a lot of live shows. All I've seen are some of my friends making live videos of them cooking dinner. I'm really not sure how else this video feed work. Facebook has so much information freely given by the consumers themselves.

Student

I love Facebook live and that's becasue I was able to use it this summer at my internship. I worked several fundraising events for the company I was with and used the Facebook live feature to get some of our followers who couldn't physically attend the events get an inside look at what was going on. This is a great way to facilitate engagement and it creates transparency because it is a live experiece happening in real time. I had several people come to the following fundraising event becasue they saw the live video and thought how much fun the events looked. The Facebook live feature plays into the FOMO some people have, if the user feels as if they are missing out they are more likely to feel compelled to get involved at the next opportunity.

Student

Very excited for Facebook mobile I already watch my friends have great experiences like football games or at parties. This could be used to show television shows or president speeches

Student

I have not used Facebook live, however i do believe its an intersting prospect for buisnesses on Facebook. Companies could easily use Facebook live to give exciting news, give the fans insight into their buisness, or show highlights of a new product or of events they are participating in. A couple of my friends have also used live, however I think its less effective or captivating for the most part. It usually is used to show something fun they are doing, however most of their friends dont feel like tunning in unless its truly captivating. I think overall while normal people could use it in a fun way, it presents more of an opportunity for marketers because it allows real time engagement into their business.

Student

I have not used Facebook live myself, but a lot of my friends on Facebook have used it. I think it is a great way for people to connect and see certain things live. Being a girl, the most compelling use of Facebook Live that I've seen from my Facebook friends are make-up tutorials. I think Facebook Live is great for the future of broadcasting different products and different advertisments for many different comapnies that use Facebook.

Student

While this isn't dealing with a large company, I have seen many individuals use Facebook Live to broadcast makeup skills, or other various talents. Many makeup artists will post live videos of themselves with the hopes of gaining a following on their social media pages. I think that Facebook Lives holds great potential for the future f broadcasting. Individuals, as well as companies, can interact directly with their audience while advertising a product or service of theirs.

Student

I believe that the live stream Facebook service should only cater to major events happening today. Personally, I get irritated seeing a simple Facebook user documenting his or her current activities, as it does not benefit or inform me in any way. I would much rather treat the live stream as a digital helping-hand for those who are in a circumstance that prohibits access cable television. Every political debate and interview that I live-streamed has been very informative, as this granted me the benefit of accessing important information while being on the go. My opinion may seem radical to others, however there are those who collect their information from social media outlets, and I'd much rather learn about our election and other current events rather than someone's trip to a grocery store.

Student

The best thing that I have seen that Facebook Live has been utilized for is a friend of mine broadcasts at 8pm every night a workout class. He has over 600 people that join in with him on facebook to view his workout class, (similiar to doing a workout video). Not only is it free, but his videos get shared and he gains more and more followers to join in on his workout videos, where he builds a group of people to join in on his brand. Genious!

Student

I have tried facebook live and it was pretty cool. I was just showing my friend and I having a conversation. Some cool things I have seen on it was a concert being shared through it. I belive that for the future of braodcasting there will be a widly accesable way for people to be able to see events happeining live becase of it being available in your pocket.
