Graham Davis just posted on finding a job, and I can tell you that an internshp goes a long way in making that happen.

This winter/spring semester Ingenex Digital Marketing is looking for a few star interns. If you are good at social media, enjoy writing blog posts, or simply want to take a deeper dive into graphic design, analytics, web design, or content marketing then an Ingenex Internshp may do you well.

I'm curious have you had a good internship? Write about it in the comments here. And if you can commit to 15 hours of work next semester (2 days min) and want some great experience, then apply at Ingenex for our digital marketing internship. Our interns have gone on to great success and fame. And so could you!

I had an intership during summer time, it was at my hometown, it was a job that my parent's friend company, I only still there for 2 week and I quit because I had a personal issue. The job that I had that time is manager assistant at a hotel. I don't have any experience before that so I was very worry about it. But the  manager is really nice to me, she taught me a lot of stuffs, and she also taught me a lot of  priciples which I think are really useful for me life. The intership that I had not really helpful for my futher life because I'm doing media right now, but the reason that I still want to try it is because I want to gain some experiece general, and I want to know how the people who already step into the social are different from student. The experience that I had that time is really meaningful and helpful.

I had an internship at MRM\McCann at digital agency with GM as the main client. I was a project manajer for the Buick client where I managed the client directions, content team, tech team, and creative team. It was a great company atmosphere, but the job was very stressful and I am not interested at all in the automotive industry. This taught me the importance of good company value, but also made me reconsider making a career out of project management nor working in the automotive industry.

Last summer I had an internship with Quicken Loans and I had a lot of fun! Not to mention the great experience. They created a wonderful culture there that promotes having a good time while getting work done, and being in downtown Detroit was a special treat too. But yes, I think a internship during the school year is a great idea, because you can knock out two birds with one stone. I would love to work with digital marketing and I am seriously considering applying for the Ingenex position.

I have yet to have an internship, but I am very determined to get one this year! I think they are an incredible opportunity to really get some hands on experience in your field. There's so many things to learn from a company, there's only so much you can learn in a classroom. I'm very interested in the Ingenex internship opportunity, I will be looking through the website to find out more information!

I have not had an internship yet unfortunately! I am in the process of getting one for this coming summer and I am interested in any or all marketing/advertising experience. The internships available at Ingenex sound really interesting and I would definitely consider doing it!

Actually, I already have a job so I'm not looking for internship this year. In fact, next year I will apply to internships through the Michigan State University career website because I would like to try a new experience.

I had a short intern last summer and it has helped me learn much more as a person.  It gave me experience working in a professional field and was an experience I would not trade anything for.  I learned the basics about the business and helped with day to day activities. I have grown as a person by taking the challenge of doing it and hope to have more experiences like this in my life.

I got 2 interns in my junior years, both were graphic design interns for websites. One is a deliver company called MSU517(now US517), run by a Chinese student. The manager was also a junior in MSU, he spent a lot of time and money to promote his company, but not turned out very well. The reason was their website was not secure enough on paying path. Also, the manager didn't show enough to his employees. That was during summer, and the manager was in China while I was taking my summer classes for 4 months. I was asked to get up and work from 10 am 3 am with them. So I quited this job.  The other one is a leasing website called Ladorms.com. I did both graphic design and web design for them. However, as the manager moved to another place, he seems gave up this website finally.

I had the luxury of doing this internship my last summer and it has helped me in every business class I have taken this year.  It taught me valuable lessons about blogging, business management skills, working in the real world and about inbound marketing.  The other employees there help you with any task that you're having difficulty with and you work side my side on different marketing gaining experience and knowledge about the business world.  Derek is also a great boss that helps you with anything you need and has great teaching ability in this field.  I have grown as a student and this internship has prepared me for the future.

I have had a few internships under my belt.  Freshman year I had an internship at a PR company in Farmington Hills Michigan.  I quickly learned that PR wasn't what I wanted to go into and it was also 40hr/week and not paid.

Sophomore year I worked for a company called Maxitrol where I did quality control, it wasn't related to my major but a job for the summer

Junior year I had an internship with ePrize, (Now helloworld), they did promotional marketing and surveys for various companies. I learned so much information from google analytics, to Facebook pages and twitter promotions.  I gained a lot of mobile advertising experience and how much mobile has grown to be in our lives 24/7. I also worked on an intern project to better understand how consumers did surveys and presented it to the board of directors with my fellow interns.

Senior year I was in Huntington Beach, California for an internship with a company called Grupo Gallegos, they are a Hispanic advertising agency on the beach.  I went out to California and had the best time ever as a social media/digital intern.  I worked on various clients, ran social media campaigns, did Facebook and twitter analytics.  I also ran the company’s Tumblr page since I have had such success with my own page.  I also worked on a client project for the Golf Channel in order to attract more Hispanic viewers to the channel.  My intern team all worked on this from the brief to presenting the whole pitch to the Golf Channel at the end of the summer.  I would say I have a wide experience with social media in this social world we live in today.

Unfortunatly, I have not been able to attain any intership experience. I have been to the business career fair here at Michiagn State which was a great experince for networking and getting to know the background of each company. However, I have not been able to commit to any company for the Summer of 2015. I'm looking for an internship in the advertising/marketing department, somewhere that can teach me more about how social media is affecting and shaping the business world. I am interested in applying my creative skills to develop solutions for companies that are struggling to capture the public attention of their products and services. I'm interested in creating mock ads, digitial advertising or helping with company commercials.

As I am enjoying what I'm learning and creating in this class, I am interested in learning more about your internship opportunies. I have applied online, however, I am looking for more of a summer internship, but willing to discuss somthing for the spring/fall if I am a good fit. Thank you for the opportunity!

I currently intern for Jackson National Life Insurance. I work in the New Business side and do a lot of administration work on the computer and over the phone. It has taught me a lot when it comes to working in a real-life 9-5 job atmosphere. Jackson does a really good job when it comes to hiring people in the same "culture". Everyone I work with is really great and we all have the same common goal to get our job done while having a good attitude. However, I learned that I do not like working in front of a computer all day and I also don't like how big Jackson is. I have never met the director that is over me and in order to talk to her I would have to make an appointment over the phone. Working at this large corporation has taught me that I would like a job where my schedule is on my own terms and more flexible and that I would like to work for a company where I can personally sit with my manager and ask him/her questions in person. Overall, I am very grateful for this internship and it has taught me a lot and helped me gain more confidence in the working world.

The internship culture in Germany is a little different than in the US. It's is not common to do internship during a semester or module, but rather during vacation. Also, most internships are paid. Since I'm an exchange student, who will leave the US at the end of the semester, I will not be able to apply for the internship. I wish everyone good luck though, it appears to be very interesting.

I had an internship in a PR company in 2011, which provided me a basic insight into office culture and work flows of traditional PR companies. I have to admit that I did not really enjoy it, because my responsibilities were to low. I'm looking forward to the next year though, as I will start my 7 - 10 months internship.

Over the summer, I interned for Michigan Fashion Week. My bachelor's degree was in Apparel and Textile Design and my master's degree is in Public Relations. I was able to apply my knowledge from both of my degrees to the internship, which was very worthwhile for me. Moving into the future, I’ve been looking for an internship/job where I can learn more about social media and social marketing. I would love to apply my knowledge from this class into a future internship/job opportunity.

For the winter/spring semester, the internship for Ingenex Digital Marketing would be an amazing opportunity! I’ve loved this class, and I would enjoy applying and expanding my knowledge from this class into the internship. I have experience in blogging, social media, graphic design, and web design and working for Ingenex would be valuable, especially, for my future career and long-term goals.

I do not have any Intership experience, but i am looking to gain some this summer. i have applied to multiple Advertising interships through websites and through the Michigan State University career web site. I would like a internship that can teach me lessons on what their profession does, and to help me see if that job is interesting to me enough where i want to pursue that field.

Student

Austin, I am in the same boat as you. I think an internship is a great way to get same first hand experience in the professional world, and is a great indicator if that specific internship would be a good job/profession for you in the future.

I interned in Saatchi&Saatchi ad agency this summer in Guangzhou. It was fun but...too much fun. Colleagues and I often worked till late at night and they told me it was normal for every agengy staff to work late. Maybe that's the case in China. I am wondering how ad agencies deal with extra extra working hours. Or that's the pressure that every agency staff should face no matter where you are. Anyway, I am graduating this semester and I am applying jobs in fast-moving consumer goods companies. Wish me and everyone get the ideal job in the near future.

Saatchi & Saatchi is an amazing internship, congrats on getting it this summer!

My internship was "good" in the non-traditional sense. More than anything, my internship (a requirement for my graduate program) showed me that I was not interested in continuing building a career in that specific direction. I worked for a non-profit that disseminated money to grantees. My job mainly involved reviewing these grants and making sure the grantees maintained progress. Through the internship, I realized I would rather be on the other side of that process, leading to a decision to continue my education in doctoral programs. It would have been great to have an internship that I loved, but in the end, having an internship that wasn't the best fit was still a great learning experience!

Student

I had the same experience with my internship. I ended up working mostly in sales in the advertising department and, though I still am not sure what it is I want exactly, from my internship I learned exactly what I DON'T want. And that helps!

Student

I think that the most important thing before getting a job is intership.

Intership is a chance to learn about actual business, how it works, and how to communicate with others. It is different from studying things is school.

Moreover, if I apply for a job, the only thing that company can determine myself is "experience." In this case, internship is to show my experience that I am good at working with others. For that reason, I guess I have to do the internship before to graduate school.

Student

I believe the internship is important category for the students who attend the university. It is very helpful and useful for our future such as, we can write our records on resume to show off our abilities. However, I have never had an internship in my life. I am planning to do so. When I decide a good internship, the most important thing is what I really want to work on. I wish to have numerous experiences on great internship for later. Thank you for sharing.

This internship sounds like a worthwhile opportunity to really utilize the skills we've been gaining through this class. I have had some awesome internships this past year. Over the summer I worked as a field campaign intern for a women running for State House of Representatives. I learned a lot about marketing and advertising yourself as a candidate to the public and how social media and certain images can have a large effect. I would also be using the computer a lot for updating social media pages and inputting important campaign information. Currently I am interning at the State House of Representatives in the Republican Communications Dept. There I file important news clippings and events of representatives, update the blog/GOP website, and will occasionally write articles on the blog when asked. It's been great experience getting to see how the government uses social media and technology and I know I have already gained skills that could help get to working in a public affairs or communications relations position.

The Digital Marketing Internship looks like a fantastic opportunity. Many current internships offered in advertising and marketing are sales jobs, so it is exciting that there is an opportunity for digital marketing internships in the area. Starting in June, I will be working full-time for PepsiCo as a sales representative. This past summer I was a sales intern and visited multiple accounts, tracked inventory, created orders and sold in new products.

I would be very interested in gaining a digital marketing opportunity focusing on content marketing and analytics and learning more about graphic and web design. This would be a great opportunity to become a part of, especially in school. As a marketing major, I will apply for the job online because this would be a great experience for me.

This internship seems like an awesome opportunity and I would of loved to be able to apply for it, but unfortunantely I am already working a few days a week. This summer I was a digital content specialist at a company called SaveOn, a digital coupon company. Being the only intern was definitely intimidating at the start, specially because most people just thought I was an employee. I had to learn the ins-and-outs of all their data bases and how to operate backoffice, the feedback system and so much more.  I was incharge of handling customer service and also contests, along with several other projects like writing articles for the company. It was an amazing opportunity that I was given this summer and I learned more than I could of ever imagined.

Student

I appreciate the opportunity presented, and have applied. Next semester I am only taking one course in order to graduate in May, therefore I will have plenty of time. I am also very interested in this, as I have learned a lot througout this course and have a passion for PR (with a background/ bachelor's degree in Retail). This past summer, I was an intern for Auto Classics of Bloomfield (ACB) from May-August. Though I enjoyed this experience, I felt that I was basically a social media manager. I have included my info. in the online application, but here are links to some ACB pages I started and maintained for the duration of my internship:

Thanks!

Being an international student, only studying at MSU for one semester, I won't be able to apply for any intern position in the US. However, taking this course, I found online marketing and social media in particular to be a great thing to concentrate one, also after the end of the module. This is why I applied for an internship at a digital PR agency, being a project manager for digital campaigns for various well known German brands. I am still waiting for their responds, but during the interview they were pretty much impressed on how much were are being taught during a single semester. They felt I had sufficient online knowledge to be part of their agency. Fingers crossed!

I'm so glad to be the first one to comment on it. I'm Jan Wu, digital strategist with PR and Journalism background. I'm currently a second year graduate student studying PR in MSU. I'm looking for an internship this winter and spring semester and just applied the digital marketing intership at Ingenex. I can work at least 15 hours per week next semester.

I'm interested in social media, especially branding and promotion, and have relevant experience. I used to be a digital strategist intern in a start-up digital-consulting company. I was in charge of content production, data analytics, and online campaign promotion for three interntaional fashion brands. I really love the culture in start-up companies and want to gain more experience there. I also have planning experience. As a three-year experience senior planner for school newspaper, I built and promoted the first student own media brand in my undergraduate study. It got the "Top Ten Campus Media" award.

Skills: Social media, marketing analytics, SEO, inbounding marketing (blogging, email marketing), PR, SPSS, Journalism, communication, Photoshop, photography.

Looking forward to hearing back.
