Wages are Higher in Michigan

There is a dirty rumor going around that Michigan doesn't have well-paying jobs to offer graduating college students. Some graduates from around Michigan are under the impression that in order to snag a good job, they need to look to other states for a better salary.

A recent study I found in the Wall Street Journal begs to differ. When the WSJ compared wages across the United States, the results debunked the Michigan wage rumor.

When I grow up...

What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was a student at MSU in the Advertising Department, I wanted to be a copywriter. I was sure of this fact. I studied all the greats like Leo Burnett and David Ogilvy and Neil French. I read the books. Worked on my portfolio for weeks and months. Had creative reviews with agency types and writers. I did the circuit.

Be Digital - MSU Communication Students are!

He calls it the "Digital Drivers License", and says its mandatory for all 3,500 MSU Communication Arts students. He is B. Bonin Bough, Global Director of Digital & Social Media for Pepsi Co., and he is referring to the New Media Drivers License course in the Advertising, PR, and Retailing Department at Michigan State University.

MSU 2010 - It was a very good year

Michigan State University Spartans enjoyed a wonderful 2010. And not just the students lucky enough to have a New Media Drivers License. I'm talking about the entire Spartan Nation!

The 2010 MSU Presidential report from Lou Anna K. Simon, PhD is a breathtaking look back at this fabulous year. Kudos to the MSU marketing department and television production crew (including leadership from Heather Swain and Jim Peck) for putting this together!
