Can Anybody Really Blog?

My First Steps in Becoming a Full-Fledged Blogger

What Have I Learned This Week?

This week it has been required to set up our personal blogs and publish our first posts. So, now that I have finished my first post what have I learned?

Long Time Listener, First Time Blogger

I think everyone can agree that the hardest part about blogging is coming up with a topic to blog about.  You want to write about something that interests you, but is also of interest to your readers.  If your content is only information that you really want to know it’s basically like telling a really long “you had to be there story.”  This is how I arrived at the topic of snowboarding, which has been a passion of mine for the last 12 years.  I figured I could make it interesting enough to the causally viewer who is aware of the sport, but like many others doesn

Two Tips Before You Start Blogging

Before I start today’s topic, I think I do not need to explain the importance of blogging in today’s world. Including myself, I have seen a lot of my friends starting blog, but did not get what they wanted to get in the beginning. While I was reading the assigned chapters of week, I learned several tips that I want to share with you.

Blogging: Hard or Easy?

Blogging has been something that always interested me but I have never had the courage to create my own blog. It seems like it would take so long to adjust to continuously update the blog. However, after reading chapter two of the book Google This, I gained confidence in writing my own blog.

Blogging 101

This week I learned that to become a good blogger, I need to first find my passion.  When I am passionate enough to spend my time writing about something, people will found excitement in my writing.  Nonetheless, before I move forward and start up a blog, it is recommended to read others' blog first.  By reading another people's blog and commenting on their posts, I will not only gain more knowledge about the subject of my blog, but I will also leaving my trace.  The more frequent I leave a thoughtful comment, the easier people would find me.

Social Media and Social Networking: Are you using it correctly?

I thought I knew a lot about social media, I’ve been on it since middle school. However a lot has changed since the early 2000’s. Here are some of the things I learned:

Are Blogging Lists the Killer Technique?

BLOGGING LISTS

In the opening lecture, Instructor Johnson told you about the blogging technique of lists.

Because of the short time allotted, he wasn’t able to go into the depth that he would have liked, nor share some of the insider secrets that make lists one of the strongest techniques and most heavily-shared content.

The 5K, 10K, and Marathon of Blogging

So you've all had a few months to start your blog, write some posts and identify your goals for blogging. Hopefully, you've seen some results already. If not, hang in there. I've been blogging since 1996 (with large gaps in-between.) Now that I'm approaching twenty years of blogging (yikes) the biggest lesson I can pass on is related to pace and motivation.
