Summer Vacation

I see some of your are spending the summer in far away places like China. That is super cool. I've been spending my summer teaching and driving my girls to swim practice. We will head to Park City for a week so that should be a nice break.

Remember our agency tour is Tuesday, August 15 from 10 AM - 12 Noon at Doner in Southfield. Please be sure to email me and RSVP so I can give a full count to Doner.

So I have to ask - what's the coolest place you went this summer? Could be a concert, camping trip, or exotic vacation. Where'd you go? Peace out. Go Green.

How Does the Election Effect Your Social Networks?

If you're Facebook feed is anything like mine, you're currently being hammared with political agenda and opinion. Proclaiming your love or hate for a candidate, party or the entire system used to happen behind closed doors between friends, family and colleagues. Social media has given anyone with a strong opinion a megahorn and the ability to shout at anyone who at somepoint opted into listening.

Election 2016 on social media

I'm sure you're aware, but: we're in the middle of a presidential election.

It's been fascinating to see the election play out on social media online. Last night, I especially loved seeing how the candidates were using social media to back up their points during the debate.

Expect more. Pay less. The Target Way of Doing Things

Who is Target?

Target has evolved in many ways since opening its doors in 1902 in Minneapolis, MN where it was founded as a dry goods store. Since the beginning the focus of the store was giving back, which it continues to do everyday. This quote from the founder really explains what Target is all about,

Q & A for the week. Enjoy!

Question: My question for this week is I know that companies when recruiting will use LinkedIn as a primary source for looking up candidates. As an advertising or marketing major, will companies looking for that skill set in this day in age look at other social media profiles such as Twitter and Instagram to see the posting styles of these candidates?

Social media and the governor's race

I recently talked with Paul Egan at the Detroit Free Press about how candidates are using social media in the race for governor this year.

Read the piece here – it also has some good commentary from other social media professionals and folks at other area PR firms.

Accessible Student Sections

Positive Comments from Supporters

The tone of my Facebook page is conversational. One friend has already commented on the page about “awesome” it would be to have the student section of the MSU stadium accessible to all students. He also gave me some pointers on how I could accomplish this goal. I plan to thank him for his support, and advice on how to about doing this.

Achieving Successful PR Through Social Media

Save The Red Cedar DucksDuck flying

My page acts to preserve the Red Cedar River's health, by explaining the damages that result from feeding the wild Ducks living along the river's banks. The Red Cedar river Ducks are suffering, because of passing students' tendancy to feed them year round.
