Election 2016 on social media

I'm sure you're aware, but: we're in the middle of a presidential election.

It's been fascinating to see the election play out on social media online. Last night, I especially loved seeing how the candidates were using social media to back up their points during the debate.

Both campaigns used Twitter to fact check their opponents, retweet supporters (or posts criticizing their opponents), and share important quotes from the debate.

Who is Target?

 As a company Target seems to have it all; from clothes to beauty products and laundry detergent to groceries. Target has evolved in many ways since opening its doors in 1902 in Minneapolis, MN where it was founded as a dry goods store. Since the beginning the focus of the store was giving back, which it continues to do everyday. This quote from the founder really explains what Target is all about,

So what is all this fuss about with Pokemon Go? Is it a fad, or is it here to stay? All I know is people are walking all over Ann Arbor playing this game. 

I do feel it's a breakthrough in technology and the VR experience. Who needs goggles when you can find Pokemon easily through your phone.

My company is based out of Italy, although it is prevalent in various countries. In terms of adding value, how do you make sure your advertisements are catering to the differences in cultures? Is it necessary to have all different advertisements aimed at the different countries or is it better to find a way to make your message consistent across all cultures?

1. Add value - Users are in control of the online space. If you're pushing out advertisements that serve you and not your audience they will ignore, block and skip them.

Question: My question for this week is I know that companies when recruiting will use LinkedIn as a primary source for looking up candidates. As an advertising or marketing major, will companies looking for that skill set in this day in age look at other social media profiles such as Twitter and Instagram to see the posting styles of these candidates?
