Social Media - To Infinity and Beyond
Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr – where does it end? When doing this assignment and linking all of my profiles together, I realized the amount of web that one person could cover using social media. It blows my mind how many social networking sites are available, many that I have not heard prior to our class meeting. So many sites are created yearly, each different than the last and capturing a new audience. The world is changing, that’s for sure.
After watching the Dear Lisa Rudgers video, I came to the realization that world of paper resumes is on the path to extinction. I believe in the next five years, most advertising, communication and marketing jobs will hire their applicants based on their creativity on the world wide web, whether that be their impressive LinkedIn profile, their well done blog or custom made YouTube application.
The possibilities in the future are endless. With intellect, an eye well trained to new media and creativity there is potential to completely change the internet as we know it. The television has evolved from black and white with three channels, to 3D with 900 channels. What stage of evolution is the internet in?
