The Importance of SEO and an Especially Helpful Resource

As Generations X and Y rely more on research than loyalty, search engine optimization (SEO) becomes increasingly more important in the online context. As marketers, we must ask ourselves, "who is going to look at my page, and what are they looking for?" Perhaps more importantly: "How are they going to get here." In a broad, generalized answer, it comes down to SEO.

Squidoo

To learn a little more about SEO, I created a Squidoo "lens" that can be found here. I found this to be a good outlet for presenting some of my current consumer research focusing on hunters. My research led to a new typology of hunters that can be used in the marketing, advertising and retailing spectrums. (The theme is Thanksgiving oriented with a turkey, but I found it appropriate for the topic :) This website helps the novice become more familiar with SEO, how to tag, categorize, and how to get found.

In summary, SEO is a very important concept to understand in today's digitized world. This knowledge will not go unused - even if you don't have your own website, it is interesting to get an inside look at how Google works.
