Blogs have been popular for over a decade now. While the traditional "blog" may have peaked around 2008 many companies use some form of blogging in their marketing efforts. They may call it something other than a blog-- articles, news, content marketing, etc... but it's still blogging.
Software like WordPress has made it easy to set up a blog. Simply install the software required to start blogging used to require an expert and maybe a couple hours of effort. Now, most website hosting companies offer one-click installs that take minutes at most.
Getting your own blogging platform up and running is the easy part. Coming up with new ideas is the hard part. If you've been blogging for a long time it becomes harder and harder to figure out what to write about.
My company, for example, has been blogging since 2006 and has published over 300 blog posts. That's a lot of ideas. Over the past decade we've written about all kinds of topics related to hiring a web designer, including the importance of designers understanding how web development works, what to know before starting a website project, how to know if your website is successful, etc... Now days it's a struggle to come up with new ideas.
As marketing experts reaching our audience is one of the skills we must master. What ideas do you have on how you could continually come up with new ideas for content marketing?
Comments & Feedback
Communication is key when it comes to things like this. Having a team that you can trust to talk about relevant ideas will make your days go a lot smoother. A blog should not be ran by just one person I think, someone could do it by themselves but they will hit a wall. Bouncing ideas off of one another will only make the ideas you have even better. The more circulation will revamp the content of blogs. It also will depend on the topic, sometimes you might just not have anyhing else to discuss and you will have to create a new blog for another industry perhaps.
I think it's super important to look around at what other companies in your industry are doing. Obviously you can't copy the whole idea, but you can certainly get inspiration from someone else. It's also good to talk collaborate with every one in the office. This also includes interns. Sometimes a different perspective is necessary to create the next best thing because someone may be able to see something that you can't.
When it comes to creating new ideas for different subject matters such as content marketing, there are multiple differerent ways that I would approach this problem. With any subject that you are trying to come up with ideas for you need to have some background on it and what is already out there. The first would be to just brainstorm any ideas that come to my head whether they are good or bad we can figure that out later. If I am having trouble coming up with ideas at that time thats when I would call someone else to talk to and bounce ideas off of. This can really be anyone who is willing to take some time out of their day to listen and help if they can. The next part would be to use or combine any ideas and see if they work or need to be changed a bit. The biggest factor when the topic pertains to other people is the ability to put yourself in other peoples shoes. With a topic like content maketing I would ask if the material being presented have the desired effect on the current demographic or overall crowd. With all of these factors, the right mindset and creative drive I beleive that I could continually come up with new ideas for content marketing.
I work for MSUFCU in the Financial Education Department and one of my jobs is to write articles for the Financial 4.0 Website and App. I often find that is is hard to come up with new ideas but what helps me when I'm in a rut is to draw inspiration from what is going on in my life or those close to me. There is alwasy soemthing going on around you or in the people around you's life so taking that a twisting it into a broader idea helps. I also think taking inspiration from national holidies, times or years, or general hot topics or trends can help. Finally a big one that we like to do is kind of a myth busting segment. This is nice to get the truth out there and to find new interesting things to talk about.
There are lots of people who has new sensational idea in their own blog. This is one of abiity to make new ideas. If people have interests in some categories, they will have variety curiosity about that subject. For example, I have interests in fashion so I have lots of questions about that area. If i post blog weekly, I can make new idea with fashion area. There are tons of fashion elements that can come up new idea. I think that is the reason why people have lots of fahion blog for their own. Also, they can reveal their own creativity about fashion for content marketing.
We all know that it's not easy to have a creative idea, and now blogs are always blogging to get people's attention, and social media should post something positive. We should understand the trend of the market, although the number of people using traditional blog is decreasing, but as a public platform, we should establish close contact with customers and understand the interests of customers.
https://medium.com/@mitchchmielarczyk/little-caesars-brand-analysis-e3d95131fdfa here is my posted link from medium to the class website for the final exam! My ideas would be to ask those from all over on what is there the favorite method of receiving ads. When I get a ton of ads online when I am trying to read an article I just get completely frustrated, and I feel others feel the same way. I think ads are good on the sites of the pages that are posting them, that way if anyone is searching that brand they can just look for themselves.
With the rapid development of fashion, the space of fashion update is also developing rapidly, an increase number of people needs a lot of information as their suggrst. And blog maybe the most popular for people to get new information. it makes a lot of people to quit their job and be a blogger and auther full time. The Blog content is the most inportant part in this filed, because Content is what attracts readers, not just the look of blog.

Generating new ideas for blogs and other forms of content marketing can be difficult after a while, especially for a company that has been creating content for over a decade. However, one strategy I like to employ to brainstorm new ideas is utilzing external resources that spur new ways of thinking. I've read that consulting third-party resources, whether it's people or information, can jumpstart the creative process, and creativity is central to content marketing. By asking for another person's perspective or absorbing a fresh idea through an external article, video, etc., we can more effectively come up with unique ideas to advance our own content marketing efforts. As an intern in multiple agency settings, I've witnessed how people can become caught up in their own concepts if they don't conduct proper research or ask for help. In turn, originality suffers.
Coming up with new content for blogs may not necesarily be easy but if the blog is already a well running machine getting feedback from the people who view the blogs would be ideal so they can be involved with the process of creating new content. I also believe brainstorming new ideas is best maybe start a mini blog series on a wider topic could create new ideas that could branch off into many different aspects that can be used for the blog. Engagement is also key into content marketing the better engagement from your audience the more you will be able to appease to the audience and give them what they want.
While blogs aren't always recognized for their importance, I think a brand of any size should utilize blogs in any of its forms. In such a digitally-focused time, blogs can't be ignored by brands. Blogs can be about ANYTHING and being able to come up with creative content can lead to your post going viral and the possibility of a large audience reading about your brand. Companies can post about what they are doing to help the community, what customers can expect from their products in the future, there is no limit to the content. I think it takes a lot of experience and savvy to be able to continually think of ideas for content marketing. I think having people around to bounce ideas off of is extremely important and to always have a pen and paper around for when those ideas just come to mind.
The blog has provided important help for the development of many brands. Blog is a platform for everyone, so any ideas, including all aspects, can be answered in all directions. Blogs have become very popular nowadays because time has existed for a long time and has become an essential part of some people’s lives. Blogs are now not only personal. Branding will also use blogs this way because everyone is fair on this platform.
I always repect people who come up with new ideas that are fresh and sensational. Sometimes, I even envy their ability to think of new things so easily. In my personal opinion, coming up with new ideas are mostly influenced by your experience in life. What I mean by "experience" is that of everything you face throughout your life. It can be your vacation trip, best movie you have watched, or even your best teacher in school can be a great source to make new ideas. By it means, I think to continually come up with new ideas are not an easy thing to do. As future creator in many different parts of our social media world, I would like to try on various experience, not fear them.

Blogging is something that people don't always recognize since there are so many different forms a blog can take, but it is important for a company of any size. Continually coming up with new ideas to blog might seem tough at first, but I think that it is something that just takes a trained mind. Use current events about the brand as a topic. Keep people up to date with what the brand is working on. Also, write blog posts that cover topics of question from user comments. If a user reaches out to the brand with a question, address this question in a blog post. If one person asks it, there are more people with the same question.
Blogging has been and will always be important. It is very intelligent to have a system where people are required to create posts voicing their opinions on certain topics. It is also very cool because you're able to see millions of viewers that have various perspectivies on one individual topic! Although many others right their opinions, it is sometimes difficult to come up with a unique topic that hasnt been recorded yet. The best thing to do is to keep up with the Content Marketing news on a daily. From there, if there's something that crosses your mind and can be debatable, it is definitely worth it to create a blog post.
I agree with everything! Ideas are something that come up randomly to me. I can't just come up with numerous of ideas and instead I think about them for a second. To come up with new ideas I am a people's person and would ask people who I think would have an idea and build off of it. Being able to share online material opens up a door to a whole new world just with the fact of social media. Everyone uses a certain type of social media which is why it is easy to market to an audience in today's world. Even asking a question like this would allow for ideas to come up throughout the whole world all because of content marketing.
I totally agree. Because know the market trend is each brand must want to do, because the market trend for each brand is a key factor which determines the brand after a quarter, and the development trend of sales volume and the extent of the popular with the audience, all brands should always grasp this know what audiences loved and then release the audience favorite things to attract the attention of the audience.
I agree that it is tough when coming up with content to write about. Some ways to keep generating ideas is to focus on building value for the consumer. Always thinking about what would be valuable to them and what they want to read. I think having a variety of topics to write about is important. Finding the main topics then branching out into smaller ones makes it easier to generate ideas on what to write.
I do agree with that new ideas are not easy to be got, but there are something we can do that helps it happens. Following and knowing about the trend of market is the key factor because you should always grasp that in hand so at least you know what the audiences are interested in, marketing experts then should post something that are able to attract the audiences.
Blogs play an important role in the modern society. It provides a platform which helps people communicate and share their opinions. Even though there are less people using traditional blogs, micro blogs such as Twitter are more and more popular. To satisfy the requirements of target audiences can help people continually come up with new ideas for content marketing.
Most company nowadays use blog to share information in order to build a close relationship with customer. Blog becomes a really good way in social media platform that share information, update the recent news and get in touch with the customer. I can always find interesting things through companies blog. Every time I am reading a blog post, it's one more opportunity for me to show up in search engines and drive traffic to the website in organic search. I do agree that blog content can helps to keep social media presence going. So, it's important that keep using blogs to show the information to the customer.
In my opinion, without blogs, most social media platforms would not exist. No matter what forms you post in the platforms, those are blogs as professor mentioned in the meterial. Nowadays, most of companies have their own account to posting blogs for sharing their latest products or news. It is a very good way to introduce themselves to strangers and this would be a chance to transform strangers to potential clients. It also is a good opportunity to communicate with audiences or cunstomers to slove or improve problem.
I think blogs can help brands introduce products further. Customers are often attracted by some novel titles, and we should learn to use this. At the same time, we should know what the customer needs and what the customer wants to see. We should do our advertising based on these, so that we can attract more potential customers.
Content marketing is any marketing format that involves the creation and sharing of media and publishing content that do something worth to audience, thus some new ideas for content marketing could be deigning the mobile phone App of the brand itself, such as Nike that encourages consumers to download the Nike app for the update information about shoes; creating mobile phone or computer games to attract consumers to get engaged into the marketing activities; and providing title sponsorship to large TV programs or social activities to permeate into the daily life consumers and then build up reputation and brand awareness.

Blog content should be relevant and interesting to the reader/consumer. To continually have new ideas, I would stay updated will new trends and events that are linked to the reader's daily lives. Luckily, there are always new trends that are being introduced day to day.
For young professionals, entrepreneurs or interns, it can be difficult starting out your advertising campaign. Creating quality content for a massive group of consumers to absorb takes time, commitment and hard work. Everyone has good ideas, but for those who put in the hours to find what works best for them and their customers, success is more likely to occur. Here are some tips that I have generated through my readings of this class, and from successful advertising campaigns I have studied.
- Define your goals and objectives: As a designer in Landscape Architecture it is always critical to come up with three to five goals of our project. These goals act as the anchor to all of our decisions and formulate the concept of the overall design. these goals tend to be broad sweeping ideas that can be molded overtime as the design matures. Much like a design, an advertisement must convey a clear message of what the creator wants his or her audience to receive from their message. In relation to this question, the more goals an individual develops, the more content can be created over time. Remembering to focus on these goals creates a continuous story that media can be drawn from and a dialogue with your audience generates more ideas for new goals to create media from.
- Finding Your Voice: Coming up with new content will become less difficult when focus on the effect it has on our daily lives. Remembering that no content should be considered bad content is critical to generating a thought stream for your customers. I have found that some of the most successful podcasts involve stories from day-to-day life that apply to the long-term success of individuals. These stories are relatable and generate feelings and emotions because consumers can translate the material back into their own lives. Becoming introspective with your thoughts to find what is important to you can give you confidence in your beliefs and mission. This means that no matter what your content is, it comes from a place of genuine honesty, as it forces you to be real with your customers. As transparency becomes more prevalent due to technology, it will only be a matter of time before someone finds out who you really are as an individual, so it’s best to make sure you know yourself better than anyone else.
- Honesty and empathy: Understanding the daily needs and wants of your audience will allow new ideas for material to generate in front of you with very little effort. So often we as individuals worry about ourselves and our needs, without realizing that the person next to us has a totally different perspective on life than our own. Imagine if we could watch a 15 second clip of life through any one person we wanted. Would we choose our parents, our significant other, our friends, or an acquaintance? Having empathy for people gives you the power to do this. Form this you have a nearly unlimited amount of content in your life including stories, events, and lifetime achievements to pick from to create new content with. Being honest with yourself and having empathy for others creates new perspective to opening up a list of media to generate for your audience.
Understanding that these three categories are debatable and may not seem useful to some, they are what I have found to be the most important ways to creating good content for people to experience. Developing these categories in our personalities makes us human. Soon enough we will be able to choose from our library of new content, instead of struggle to generate any at all.
I know from experience that this is a constant struggle for content marketers. I interned for a small content marketing company out of Leslie, Michigan, a few years ago. I was often assigned to help the company's founder brainstorm blog ideas. There were many strategies that we used to come up with new content such as:
- Seeing what was relevant in the industry. Websites such as Hubspot or Content Marketing Institute are designed to help writers, marketers, bloggers, and strategists create meaningful content online. These sites are great for keeping up with topics and trends in the industry. Depending on what industry you are blogging for, you can refer to sites like these that post information about said industry.
- Finding inspiration from community influencers. There are a lot of content marketers out there that are constantly publishing content. While interning, my boss often looked for blog ideas by seeing what other people are writing about. This wasn't used to steal people's ideas, but rather taking a topic or concept and presenting it in a new way. Looking at what other people are talking about in an industry can make it easy to come up with blog ideas.
- Answering your audience's questions. Another great way to generate content is to think about what sorts of questions your audience might be asking about your company. A blog post could be used as an opportunity to explore something your company might offer, or it may provide guidance and advice to readers.
- Featuring people/companies from your professional network. An easy way to find content to use could be to showcase someone or another company that is related to your company in some way. This could be done through a guest post - by having someone come in and talk about a subject related to your company that might interest your audience. You could also feature information about a company in a post to give insight into how your companies work together. For example, the marketing company I worked for partnered with a local videography company to write content about how to effectively use video for marketing.
Generally, it is hard to come up with new ideas among a familiar aspect, people are used to following the path instead of open up a new one, according to my experience, we can do something to open the eyesight, to learn from the new obtain new ideas from all other people, new ideas generate come up to mind.
Obviously creating new and exciting content that will captivate consumers is difficult. However, I think the topics that companies blog about is where the issues are. Ultimately companies want consumers conversing and talking about their product or company. So, I think companies need to start taking a stance on relevant issues and have their brand choose a side. This will get consumers talking, whether they agree or disagree with the company getting people to talk about that brand is the end goal.
The blogsphere has changed a lot in the past feww years. even as the blogosphere continues to expand, only a few blogs are likely to emerge as focal points. Because it is differcult to innocvation.Have to say, Bolg or social media, are the most popular role in now. We have all witnesses the power of blog and social media.
How to Incorporate Technology
Thinking of new and original ideas is hard to come-by within our society today due to the fact that we are limited to what we know to be true. We see many advancements in things such as technology because the creation of new technologies is a funded practice and it takes many individuals to make these ideas come to life. I think within marketing and advertising, we can try to "think outside the box" by using these technologies in whatever ways we can. As a technology savvy society, advertising firms have the ability to incorporate these new technologies into their platforms to increase customer awareness, customer loyalty, and gain an abundance of other benefits.
Well, the audiences are always looking forward to see some new ideas by certain companies. However, come up with new ideas is not as easy as they think, but it's the most important thing that the marketing expert has to do. Therefore, I think closely following the trend is necessary to produce new idea and also market investigate is indepensible. Getting contact with market is always a good idea to come up with new idea.
Coming up with new ideas can be very difficult. There are many obstacles in figuring out what to write about such as keeping up to date with new material, being creative, etc. I think there are a couple of different ways that one can continually come up with new content. First off, the content itself must stay current. It is important that blog posts are keeping up to date with current trends and events so that viewers remain interested. Next, it is important to look at frequency of blog posts. It is easy to run out of ideas if blog posts are made multiple times a day. One should focus on putting out good content; this allows there to be less frequent posts which allows the amount of creative ideas to be spread out over a longer time. Those are just a couple options on how to come up with new ideas but there are other methods for doing so.
Creating new content is not easy. Even if you have an idea, there are not many practical ideas to consider in various situations. However, sharing these ideas on a blog will allow us to inspire, motivate, and continuously create new ideas. Using a blog seems natural, but it is harder than you think. It will take a lot of time to handle this correctly. But blogs are the best way to share ideas in my opinion. It is perfect as well as accessibility. It would be nice if blog sharing ideas would become more active. Also, it seems attractive that the general public can use blogs well enough.
The ability to stay relevant and fresh in today’s digital world is one of the most challenging opportunities that companies/organizations/personal brand experts face. One of the keys to being able to continually create value-added content is to make sure that you are creating content that speaks to your core group of followers. One suggestion is to spend time on some of your follower’s social pages and attempt to get a feel for similarities that link followers to followers. Then add value by approaching those ideas and subjects from your perspective. This rewards your followers with a twofold approach to content they are already interested in as well as a perspective from someone they admire/trust/are entertained by. Another main concept is to keep your finger on the pulse of current events/trends. Then you can leverage these trends back to how you see yourself or products affecting them. One final thought; I think that many blogs are created with unrealistic expectations or timing. If you are trying to blog daily and are struggling to come up with value-added content, then you are blogging too often. One should blog in a frequency pattern that is semi-scheduled reoccurring so that your followers stay engaged as well as can anticipate when your next post will be but also match the level of content that will create a great experience for them.
Creating content can be very challenging, but it is important to get new content out there to stay relevant. Content marketing is impoartant because you should always keep the content fresh and try to keep the user coming back. Its best to thunk outside the box when it comes to posting blg content and making sure that you are posting about things that users want to see.
Blog is a thing that people share things. The first time I know blog when I was in primary school. But nowadays, more and more new social media and new style of thing come out of the world. Like instagram and snapchat. Nowadays, the short and intereting post is more popular than the long blog. Since the time is getting faster, less and less people will be calm and start to read a super long post. In China now, the Weibo and Wechat all has the charaters limited to make sure the posts are not super long.
I agree with you that blogging has emerged as an appealing choice for business owners and marketing personnel in particular to enhance online presence and to enhance the marketing efficiency. A typical example is the food blogs which greatly contributes to brand loyalty of some chefs and restaurants. In the view of such example, it is found that users of blogs to boost online marketing should keep in mind two key points. Firstly, it is a struggle to come up with new ideas. Secondly, personal skills make a difference in the outcome of using blogging as a way of marketing.
I think ideas for blogs can be totally different depending on what kind of product or service you are trying to market. A good way to create new content is to see what topics are trending on social media and try to form your blog around what is currently popular or being talked about and connect it with your product. Becuase social media is constantly changing there is never a lack of topics to talk about. Every blog is going to have its posts that have been done a million times but keeping up with current trends is a way to create new ideas.
Using technology, especially social media is the best way to write new blog posts. Social media is continuously bringing out new content and people all over the world are making creative content -- memes, videos etc. If a company can capitalise on the content that people are making and using trending posts to use in their own marketing campaigns, then there can be a wide range of new compelling blog posts to write up.
Blogs have become popular and most people use it to market their brands or products. In my opinion, marketers have invented new ideas to sell products and services be it blogging, on social media or word of mouth. As market experts, we can work on doing more research on improving our skills to market our stuff. I think embracing upcoming technology in our marketing ideas is important. This will help in creating sophisticated new marketing concepts which will do more than marketing products but bringing about a sense of cohesion between the users and the products.
Blogging is inherently difficult. In the case of a college student, most of the blogs we see are lifestyle blogs of some sort. Mainly detailing the personal tastes of the author, weather it be clothes, media, or food preferences. Shockingly enough, many people enjoy the same things. Also, all blogs share the same creepy style of posting. Long parapgraph with useless information, hoping you click on an affiliate link somewhere on the journey for the information you clicked on the post for. I do not blog, but whenever I am in a creative slump, I like the idea of addition by subtraction. Take away one of your most trusty tools, no matter what it is. Don't allow yourself to cheapen the post with a technique you know will create buzz. Think outside the confines of what you usually do. All blogs end up looking the same at some point. Subtracting certain elements and cycling them out can change this.
Creating new content can be challenging.
However I have been able to look at trends and see how things rise and fall for content creators. one of the bigest take aways is that as other people or blogs wait for things to start trending we need to be the ones who take risk and find out what can be a trend for you. I recommend this especally to people or compaines that already have an audience because you have nothing to lose. Doing this can increase your audience as well.
You could look at older trends and putting your own spin on things. This way it gives a guide while still letting you have some freedom of creativity.
My first internship focused on content marketing relating to the hiring process. Sometimes it can be difficult to find content that is so narrowed in. However, I think it really helps to push the boundaries and find ways to make connections between seemingly different topic ideas. For example, I did a blog on travelling as a way to expand experiences and become a more valuable new hire. It is also important to constantly keep your mind open by reading books, watching documentaries, and finding new ways to learn about the world. You never know when some random idea could be integrated into your niche area of blogging.
Blogs have always been really useful for companies to share ideas, information, tips, etc. I've always struggled with coming up with good, relevant ideas to write about, so blogging is something I find myself weak at. In order for marketers (and myself) to improve skills on idea generation for content marketing, I would suggest writing out an organized plan for goals and pre-determined ideas. I'm a structured/linear thinker, so this would help me develop my skills, but this is also useful for anyone else because organization is key. For example, come up with certain goals within a timeframe that you want to hit. Come up with general topics you want to discuss and make specific posts about ideas within each topic. This helps you get a head start, and when you come back to the idea/topic, the thought is already there. All you have to do is write.
Blogging is an incredibly difficult skill to master. In my experience, I typically fall short of being able to come up with frequent content that I’d like to broadcast to the world. That being said, it is an incredibly useful skill to master than can put you on the map if you generate new and interesting content frequently. i think brainstorming exercises and research would be optimal for creating new and improved blog posts, while keeping an engaged audience.
Quality over quantity is important in situations like this. Having 10,000 blog posts might not mean much if 9,500 of them are poorly written. This creates static for potential consumers searching out content. Poorly written content, or content without meaning both reflect poorly on a brand. While having more blog posts certainly could increase your chances of exposure, it will likley steer people away if posts are not meaningful. If a consumer has had multiple bad experiences reading a blog there is a good chance they are going to steer clear from it in the future. People have limited time, and first impressions matter, so you don't want to waste them.
I think it's important to realize that you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you blog. Revisting old blog posts by reposting them with updates, or activley reflecting on a position held in the past is important. I think this can help people to understand where technology has changed over time. This is also a chance to build upon previous thoughts and strengthen old arguments.
Keeping up with the times is also a great way to find content for blogs. This may include touching on news relevant to the feild of topic, or revisiting old blog posts (as previously stated) as they they pertain to present day issues. Both are wonderful ways of finding content to publish.
The plain "old school" approach of simply asking audiences what they want to read about will always be a reliable method as well. This creates important audience engagment and creates dialogue between blogger and blog readers. This provides important feedback and gives important information as to the state of the blogs relevancy.
