Consider sharing it with your friends.

As I am sure you have experienced, the usage of smartphones is growing at an alarming rate. Adoption is so high many predict mobile devices will soon outsell desktops and laptops. It seems the capabilities and convience of smart phones has lead to an entirely new way of accessing information, staying connected and living daily life.

When phones were first capable of browsing the web the experience was so bad few people actually wanted to do so. Mobile websites were minimal, often giving the user nothing but text and rarely could you access more than the most popular content on the site. This was justified because mobile technology was limited.

Mobile Evolved

This soon changed. Mobile devices improved as did mobile web browsers. About when the iPhone was released, users no longer had to deal with mobile specific, text only websites they could access full websites and navigate with only marginally increased effort.

At this time us web designers were very interested in the "context" of mobile browsing. What was the user doing that couldn't wait until they reached a desktop or laptop? We were concerned with context because if a user had a choice, they would use something other than their phone. Generally speaking, most websites were not mobile optimized and people hadn't grown accustom to browsing on their phone.

Because of this we often designed two websites. One for mobile users and one for desktop users. We optimized the mobile sites by removing content that was less likely to be relevant when you were on the run. This made sense because people were only accessing the site when they were in line at the bank, sitting in their car, etc...

Now, many mobile experts say this practice is outdated. The reason? Mobile browsing is well... not always mobile.

New Browsing Behavior

Where mobile browsing was once reserved for on the go, no alternative style situations many claim this no longer is the case. People now browse the web on mobile devices even if they could easily access a desktop or laptop. With the improvement in technology and increase in user skill, many prefer to surf the web from their phone than sitting down for a long "web session" on a desktop.

As a result, many claim we should do away with mobile websites. After all, those accessing the site from their phone might not be mobile at all. There is no need to reduce content as they could be looking for the same content a desktop user is.

Your Turn to Weigh In

How do you access the web? Is it primarily through your mobile device? Or do you prefer your desktop or laptop. If you do use your mobile device, do you want access to all the content a website has or would you rather a catered experience?

As early adopters and future (and current) influencers on business I would love to hear your thoughts about mobile website and mobile web browsing.

While I do use my smartphone for the internet a fair amount of time, mostly because it is convenient, I don't agree that It'll outway the usage and potential usage of desktops and laptops.

I recently switched from iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and I prefer to use the internet on my new phone versus the old. It is extremely easy to just say "Ok Google...." and get my search results up immediately. However, I don't use the internet other than for Google searches, my GPS and social media on my phone. If I'm doing something school or work related, I'm using the internet on my laptop. My dad owns a couple of law firms and it would be impossible for them to begin simply using the internet on their smartphones in place of the desktops and laptops that they use.

Also, I have 2 smart TVs. They both hook up to the Internet, they'll run Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, MGo, YouTube, Facebook, etc. on them. That being said, if I want to show someone a YouTube video and we're sitting in my living room, I'm going to pull it up on my TV versus on my smartphone. When I'm out and about and need to get online, I'll probably use my smartphone because I can use data.

I don't think that smartphones will ever replace desktops/laptops. I think that they're crucial in senses like work and school.

I almost always access the web through my iphone. It's so much easier because it's always with me, and quick to use. My laptop is getting old so it is always slow. I also access the web with my ipad sometimes, but not nearly as often as I use my phone. I like to be able to see the whole site, not just the mobile version because it leaves things out that I want to see. I am glad that internet has become such a large part of mobile phones, while people should not use their phones as much as they do, it is very beneficial to have access to the internet from my phone. I can do homework on the go, check for sales, coupons and information while shopping, and most importantly I have GPS all the time.

I remember the first time I tried to use the internet on my first cell phone, a virgin mobile flip phone. My cell phone plan included a 1/2 hour of internet, so about once a month I would try to access facebook or ringtone searches through the internet. I always ended up wasting the whole 1/2 hour on loading one page. It's crazy to see how far technology and mobile web browsing has come in just the past few years. Now it would be a struggle to live without it.

Typically the way I decide to access the web depends on what is most convenient to me at the time I need to make a search.  Most of the time if I am at home I will just access the web through my laptop, but more than half the time I would say I use my mobile device if I need to surf the internet when on the go.  It is nice to be able to pull up my browser at an instant when on the go, but I prefer to use my computer.  When using my computer I do not have to worry about my data plan and I know that any website is compatible with my laptop, so I can view the entire website, and all of the features.

Student

If I want to search the web for things like doing homework, online shopping, readings, or things I need to type into Google and look up I will use my laptop. I will only use my phone for those things if I do not have my laptop, but even then I would most likely wait until I had access to my laptop unless I needed the information immediately. When I use my phone for internet activity, I usually use the sites that have apps to use. I wouldn't want to look at facebook through the safari app on my phone, I use the Facebook app on my phone. I like being able to access these apps when I'm on the go. I would rather look at facebook on my laptop but I would rather use my phone for Twitter and Instagram.

Mobile  browsing is a kind of trend will change people's behaviours. As the technology development and the product innovation, it is easy for us to use mobile devices to browsing. Compare with computers, mobile is more convenient, portable and people can use it anytime they want. I believe as the developing of mobile devices and the university of smartphones, mobile browsing will become a huge business area.

Since accessing the web became very easy, I usually use my smart phone if I am going to search for specific things. If I need long and important information, I prefer to use my laptop instead of my smart phone because, since it is much harder to read or search things from your phone, I think using my laptop would speed up the process. However, I always ask quick questions to Google or look for some specific products from specific sites, I prefer use my smart phone. It is important for me to be able to see all the content from my phone so yes I prefer all the content the website has on my phone.  My only concern about using my mobile to access to web is its battery life. I believe almost all other active mobile users are having the same concern with me. Instead of that, I do not have any problems with using my mobile phone to access web.

Student

I prefer to use a laptop to browse the internet. The mobile sites are still somewhat limited in what you can do. When using a phone there is no cursor. Many times when I am using a laptop I can interact with certain links just by putting the cursor over the link. With a phone this is not possible. I have looked for an app that would put a cursor on my phone that I could manuver with my finger however no such app exists. I find with a phone I hit links I don't mean to hit because they are in close proximity to links that I do want. The battery on my phone is also an issue. I have an android phone and the battery life is terrible. With better battery life and technology that would make touch screens easier to use I would have a better experience with phones.

When I access the web it is almost always on my desktop. When I do use my mobile device it is off my Iphone. I perfer using my desktop because when on my Iphone it tends to take longer and my visibility is much smaller. When I do use my Iphone to browse the web  I am usually looking at powerball numbers or doing quick searches that dont require me to browse the site in depth. I perfer to have speacial designed web sites because I dont use my mobile device for serious web browsing and the quicker i can find what im looking for the happier I will be.

Student

When I access the web it is usually on my laptop at work since im In an office from 8-5.  But when im not in the office i am usually visiting websites via Iphone.  Iphone is just very conveinant.  I would say it is primarily through my mobile device, but i would prefer to use my laptop because it is more efficient because of the larger screen and faster internet.  I think it would be good to access all the internet websites via Iphone.  Everyone these days uses an Iphone and it would be beneficial for those to access as many websites as they can via cellphone.  Sooner or later they will create mobile devices with internet access via phone and watches.  I believe comapnies will create a virtual/ 3D presenation that will be like real life internet access.  It will be very unique and websites will appear in thin air where you can just use the wave of your hand or finger to scroll and click items.  Creativity and imagination has been increasing throughout the years so I am looking forward to see what occurs in the next 25 years or so.

Student

I used to take advantage of my laptop surfing on internet when I'm home. But as time change, it is more convenient for me to use my phone and Ipad connecting with internet. I like using my phone connecting with internet wherever I go. So I don't have to carry a heavy laptob. Now I am using my phone even if I'm home. Sometimes I like using Ipad when I'm in Starbuck, getting a cup of coffee and hanging out with friends. Ipad has a bigger touch screen than Iphone, so sometimes I prefer it.

Student

I would much rather use the internet on my laptop/computer compared to on my phone. The internet connection is faster on a regular computer and it is easier to get information most of the time. However, internet on the phone can be great depending on the type. When I'm not home, accessing the internet through my IPhone is pretty good. The internet connection is pretty fast, and checking/sending emails is easy. I would rather the internet experience be the same for regular computers and cell phones. It is easier for people when it comes to gaining information or even for business purposes (email).

Student

I definitely prefer using my laptop for internet browsing, but by being constantly on the go, I use my phone the most for browsing the web. Using Safari on my phone however can be difficult for viewing websites, so I download the app versions of my favorite websites. Some examples would be Us Weekly, Facebook, Twitter and for reading blogs, BlogLovin'. Having the app versions allows easier viewing of my daily sites and allows me to stay current on what's going on on the web.

Student

I think I access the web primarily on my phone just because I am always on the go. I mainly use apps or if I do have to use Safari on my iPhone and I don't get the full website that I would get on my laptop I get extremely frustrated. My experience on the site is limited and sometimes I am unable to complete the task I wanted to complete by going on the particular site.

Obviously there has been huge improvements regarding mobile browsing. It used to be similar to dial up in my opinion and now pressing an app you get a full featured website. I sometimes think my mobile browsing is faster than my Internet on my phone. I am very excited and curious to see how mobile browsing changes as we advance forward.

Student

I access the web primarily through the laptop rather than the mobile device. I usually consider browsing the web through my iPhone when I need to search some information without a laptop. There is nothing wrong with the mobile device, but only too small to look through words comfortably. I prefer to use Apps such as Google and Yahoo! to access information instead of simply browsing the web through Safari, since they are easier to use and their user-interfaces design are friendly.

Student

I access the web primarily through my smartphone because of how fast and convenient and I always have my phone with me. I still think it is easier to look through websites on a laptop especially when searching for an item or looking through clothing websites. I would rather have access to the entire website because I might miss important information if some things aren't there on my mobile device.

Student

I definitely agrees with how mobile is worth influence in today's society. As the growth of smartphones in today's society, people starts to browse and search on the web to find out their basic needs and wants. Sometimes, these smartphones give an opportunities of learning instead of sitting odown for a long time on the desktop. People can saves their time and work more effectively through the mobile browsers, and will be on the future.

Student

I personally still would choose going online using a computer rather than mobile browsing. I find websites easier to navigate when using a computer. I also find that I am less nervous of clicking the wrong thing etc when using a computer. When I engage in mobile browsing, I find the keypad to be too jittery, it is not as fast, and the entire page can't be seen without scrolling. However, mobile browsing is one of the most convenient things since sliced bread.

Student

I personally find mobile browing very efficient and helpful. With the help of mobile browing, many of the sites are easier to navigate. Whereas if the site doesn't have mobile navigation browser, it would be harder to navigate, in which therefore, it would make me spend less time on the site on my phone. The mobile browsing are also exchanging in place of applications. However, I still find the actual website to be pretty more complete.

Student

As an advertiser, I always keep hunger to get new information from Internet, because Internet is the fastest and most direct way to get information nowadays. Since about ten years ago, I started to use mobile phone to browse the web. I still remember I just need about less than 50 MB usage per month at that time. However, when I look at my smart phone 5 minutes ago, I found I already used 214 MB since from March 9.  It means, just 3 days I browsed 4 times websites than 10 years ago. So now is an era of information explosion, it is not a little bit overstated.

Student

First of all, actually, almost every websites are offering the options to browsers either the mobile view or full view. Personally, I always like to browse in full view because I am used to it. I sometimes have a hard time to find the information I need under mobile view. I've heard people said so as well. On the other hand, I certainly believe people would rather use phones instead of desktop or even laptop to browse after works or school. The reason might be that most of them are facing the screen during their working hours. They just want to lie in the couch and relax. Therefore, mobile marketing would be more and more competitive in the future.

Student

I think that mobile browsing is the future of browsing the web.  The small size of our phones is not only convienient, but its also just as fast as a computer or tablet.  I think there is nothing but good things coming for the mobile browsing world.

Student
I am one of those individuals who always seem to have my celluar device in my hand. Although I own a laptop, I still would rather use my phone unless I am typing a paper or doing online homework. I feel as though my phone is more accesible and convient and I can quickly load anything on my phone. Additionally, since I pay so much for my Sprint bill, I try and use all of my resources as possible.
Student

Personally if available I will always opt to use my laptop over my Iphone for internet browsing. Though mobile browsing has evolved tremendously and is getting easier and easier to use, as the post states, I still feel most comfortable on an actual computer. There are a few reasons for this: for one, desktop browsing is still faster to navitage, no matter how good you are with a phone. I also like having a full 13" screen to view websites from instead of a screen the size of my phone. With my tiny phone screen I often end up accidentally clicking wrong links and having to backtrack to get the information I actually intended. With that being said, I still love having internet capabilities on my phone, and think they also have their place. A prime example of this is when I am out of the house and need to know something right away.

Student

Depending on what I need to use the web for, I most likely prefer to use my laptop. With sites like Angel, I only use my laptop. I do not even try to access it on my iPhone. I use my iPhone to search teh web when I am looking for a businesses phone number because then I can just click on the number and call. I also like to use it for directions that way it can access my maps app directly. On my iPhone I like when the website has an online site version. That way all the information is clear and easier to access via a mobile device. Some websites cannot fully function from the desktop to a mobile device so its harder to navigate.

I think that mobile websites are beneficial for businesses because that way there is no question that it will load and work exactly how you want it to on a mobile device. It also allows for guaranteed navigation for the person to be able to access through the website.

Smartphone vs tablet vs laptop vs desktop

Infinite Internet

This blog post has made me truely relize how connected to the internet I am- at all times. I think it really depends on what I am doing and what is available to me at the time.

9:00am: I begin my day by picking up my Iphone and checking my email notofications. I star the important ones that I need to reply.
I follow email with news. I use my digg app to browse some top stories and next go to my Flipboard app because it is a tailored experience. Because I have a special interest in technology I get updates on my favorite companies as well as a mix of breaking global news.

Depending on how important the emails are at this point I will pull out my laptop. Almost 90% of the time I reply to emails via laptop because it allows me to proof read easier and really ensure my point is getting across.

Whille eating breakfast I browse my favorite deal websites like Groupon and Woot.

During class I take notes via my laptop however they are synced with my phone via evernote.

If a class becomes a little dull I browse my favorite blogs and pinterest. Even if I find something I like while on my phone I only purchases items via laptop. It is easier to read reviews and really take in all of the information.

If someone told me you must chose one Victoria I would refuse. Once you have a smartphone you can't go back. Its like having the world in your purse/ pocket

Having a catered experience is crucial in my opinion. Everyone wants what they want, how they want. I don't want my feed cluttered with hunting gear considering I have and will never hunt.

Student

For me, I love using my desktop computers to view all the websites. The reason is simple. A desktop web browser can access all the functions of a normal website compare to a mobile web browser which usually has limited functions. However, mobile devices nowadays also have some unique functions that a regular desktop computer is not capable of, which are like location services and picture takings. Anyway, both ways have their unique ways to interact with online resources, which are good things to enhance user experiences.

Student

If I had a choice, I would easily choose to use my laptop over my mobile phone to access the internet. While I do use my phone a lot, that's only because it's easier to access. Typically I use it for Googleing something quick, checking my email or visiting a social media website. I prefer it when the sites cater to my phone. It makes the experience on my phone much better when websites have a mobile site as opposed to accessing the normal web page through my phone. It always slows down my phone and everything feels too cluttered.

Student

I have the same sentiments as Paige. There's a time and place to use my phone for browsing and thats only when its something quick that I need to view. Besides the small screen size, I prefer to use my MacBook when I'm looking to access the internet. A lot of the sites I frequent do not have a Mobile-Friendly version which makes it extremely difficult to navigate the web page from my iPhone. I love sites that make mobile-friendly versions of their site because it makes use of a smart phones screen size and its ability to bookmark the page similar to a desktop. This is why mobile banking, emailing and Googling are so popular, because they are custom-made just for your phone.

Student

I constantly access the web using my laptop. The only time I prefer to use my phone brower is when I'm on the move and need an address to a location. The problem with accessing the web via your cellphone is that screens are far too small and sometimes it's difficult typing in addresses on your phone. If all sites had more of an application or a catered site for phone access it would be much more enjoyable and easier to navigate it I didn't have access to my computer at the time. On top of it all, using the Internet on your phone completely drains your battery and I like being able to use my phone and not have to charge it during the day if at all possible lie many others I know.

Student

Personally if i had the choice between using my laptop or my iphone i would pick my laptop everytime. I like the screen size and speed of the laptop much more than that of my phone. One of the best mobile sites i used was an airlines site that was stricly created for mobile phones and was different from their actual website. If compnaies did this more frequently i feel like i would be more apped to use my phone.

Student

Obviously when I am able I use my laptop, but when I am not by my computer I think mobile browsing is one of the greatest creations of our time. When you are on the go you can find quick information about whatever, but you can also watch movies, or full sporting events. I use the WatchESPN app all the time to stream games when I can't watch them at home. Mobile browsing is so useful for anyone in everyday life. Any piece of information is at your finger tips. News, weather, and pretty much anything else you may need because we now essentially have computers in all our pockets.

Student

How do you access the web? Is it primarily through your mobile device? Or do you prefer your desktop or laptop. If you do use your mobile device, do you want access to all the content a website has or would you rather a catered experience?

How I access the web really depends on the situation. I have website that I feel need more of my undivided attention in which case I would use my laptop. Another situation in which I mostly use my laptop is when doing online shopping. I like to have multiple tabs up to read reviews while looking at pictures. I feel like looking at the product on my laptop gives me an overall better idea of the product.  I also do more "browsing" on my laptop because its easier to navigate.

I use my mobile phone to access social media such as facebook and twitter because it  keeps me up to date even while I am away. I also like using my phone to keep up to date on news and current events.  If I am accessing content through a mobile website I would like to be able to locate all the critrical data however if I am using a mobile app I would like a catered experience. If a mobile application is essentialy the same thing as the website, it is pointless and just takes up memory on my phone.

Student

When I access the web I almost exclusively use a laptop, it is more convenient than my mobile phone. Mostly this is because my phone browser rarely works. It has to be connected to Wi-Fi to be able to search the web even though I pay for web usage monthly. It seems as though when I really need to check a website to find a class or check my email, it never works. On the other had if I'm bored and just looking to pass the time by searching the web it has no problems. The easiest solution is to just have my laptop on me at all times.

Student

I feel that mobile browsing is the way of the future, and than in 10 years or even sooner, almost all websites wilol have some sort of mobile platform yo be accessed. But we're not quite there yet. While mobile platforming is growing by leaps and bounds, many mobile websites and services are still quite clunky and not as expasive as their desktop/computer based counterparts. There is still so much more to access on the PC platform and it's much moire seamless than it is on the mobile platforms. In my personal opinion, it's still more comfortable on a PC. But as time goes on, I feel that mobile devices will further take over the PC platform and become the dominant medium for internet based content.

Student

Personally, this is the one of the reasons that I love about using smartphones. As I.T develops more amazingly, people more communicate easily with mobile. Like three years ago, nobody could ever imagined talking instantly through social media such as Twitter or Facebook with people who live different part of ours. I was truly impressed that the computer techniques developed this much and I am one of the people who can't survive without phone as well!

Student

I use mobile browsing lots of times. It is more convenient than laptop and easy to communicate with others. New iphone 5 has been updated the navigation tool which is really useful. I will bring iphone every second rather than laptop.

Student

I use both a smart phone and a laptop computer depending where I am.  I enjoy the freedom that my iphone offers me and I want to utilize any tool the internet posseses.  I want content formatted for my smart phone.  I also want the content to be designed with an emphasis on simplicity so that I can easily differentiate data on the go.  I will always use a computer because of the large screen size, but smart phones are here to stay, and web design needs to continue to reflect that.

Student

I generally do most of what I would called my important web surfing on my laptop. I do this because it is might easier to navigate and read the information you are looking for. I think that the concept of mobile phones catering web address should stay the way it is. When I am searching for something on the web from my phone it is usually something simple and not complicated, I enjoy that the websites are catered to only give you the important information you need and not everything else. Generally when using my mobile phone I am on the go and therefore don't need as many details. If I need to to a detailed search I will pick up my laptop and do it because I have more time to sit and comprehend what it is that I am looking for. I think that if mobile phones start showing all information on sites it will become to complex and take away from the idea of only including what is important, and not what isn't needed.

Student
Now that I have a job that calls for me to be at my desk top computer most of the day, I split my uses up from what I access on the computer in comparison to my phone. I know for certain if I am looking for content related information I prefer to use the computer. Most often when I am accessing my social media outlets I use my phone because I feel like it is easier to tailor the information that I read or view such as instagram. I have found difficulty when I am trying to access certain websites that have a limited mobile view and I would rather have access to all of the content rather then have a limited or catered view. When I am on the go I would rather not have to deal with the hassle of a limited site.
Student
Student

Personally I use mobile devices for web browsing when I am looking for specific answer or information and for SNS sites. For example, what is the scheduel of the bus? Where is the restaurant? What is the meaning of "Bioethanol"? With these simple questions, I would always turn to mobile devices. Another is to check my SNS, mobile devices are always the first choice.

I haven't realized the change that people now will still use mobile devices even with laptop at hand, however, I found this to be true! This really triggers my interest in this new browsing behavior, and what should we do in response?

One thing I can think of in the mobile and laptop browsing is that when wathcing a film, laptop is always the first choice! Therefore, I think in the situations when quality of image really matters, laptop is still preferred.

Student

I am a bigger fan of using a computer to access the web. I like the use of the keyboard, a mouse pad to scroll, and a large screen. However that does not at all mean that i do not take full advantage of using the web on my smartphone. The advancments in technology are incredible and have given us the ability to be able to find anything at anytime any where. I do perfer if I had the same access to all contents that a website has rather then a catered experience when it comes to using mobile devices, in fact i hate and often and pushed away from a site when it is a catered experience on my phone. On top of having to adjust to using my phone, adjusting to a different website layout when your so use to a particular one ( as a primary desktop user) it is another way to make things harder when they don't have to be i believe.

I am thankful however for the advancments because if your out and you need to find a random place to eat, or stop to use the bathroom, or anything else having a smart phone has allowed people to be able to do so. Or check e-mails if away from the office, their are many postive adjustments with this as well.

Student

I have to concede that mobile now is rather important as a tool for communicate as well as media consumption sometimes. However, deal to the convenience that phones should have, the screen was limited. In this case, i think even though smartphone market is growing, it cannot replace the tablets. That's why Ipad can always take the advantage of it.

Student

I access the web primarily through my mobile device. It is often times more convienient for me than to use another device such as a laptop. Generally, I want to access all the content and there are times I find myself frustrated when a site only offers a "mobile version". I then have to find my laptop, usually charge it and then search for the same website. However, there are also times when the content of a site is too large. Which means it will either take too long to download or is difficult to navigate through my phone (i.e. when I zoom in certain functions are lost and I must zoom out to view them again). So, I prefer sites that take me to an option everytime. The retail website Joss and Main gives me this option every time I browse their site on my phone. This happens whether I enter their site from clicking on email content or from typing it in to my browser. They also feature a button that allows you to save your preference. However, if I were to be given an option of only having a mobile version I would much rather prefer to have the full version.

Student

I've been increasingly accessing the web through my iPhone. I used to primarily use my laptop, but as I have been becoming more familiar with my smart phone, I'm starting to take advantage of all of the mobile capabilities. I think I would rather have a catered mobile experience while browsing on my phone, something that was made to specifically mix with a phone, instead of being smooshed into a screen from laptop setting. Having catered mobile expriences will also create more jobs for people who want to make apps, so that can't hurt either.

Student

I primarily access the web through my laptop computer. I find that it is easier to do in-depth research, homework and projects on my computer. I think that I find it easier on my computer because it has a larger screen and keyboard which makes the margin for error on important projects smaller. It is also easier to multitask on a laptop or computer. You can have multiple browsers open, grabbing and gathering information quickly from each one.

I do however use my phone more for checking things such as Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest and instagram. All of these sites are great tools to use when you are just trying to pass the time and I never spend longer than 15 min on each of those sites. With the phone you can quickly check your networks form the app where ever you are.

Student

This is a very intresting thing as I was just arguing with my friend about which version of facebook was better between the mobile version and the full online version. As people are now using tablets and mobile devices more than lap tops and desk tops I would say that the mobile version would be best because its simpler to use and if peopl want to have more funtions they can always use a desk top or lap top to satisfy their needs.

Student

Could not agree more that the mobile device market has greatly influenced the way we access and are able to veiw websites. I personally right now am team no smart phone and will soon be upgrading to smart phone market. To me it seems as though it is more prevelant in today's society for us to be more effecient to have internet acsess at our fingertips at all times. Currently I use my iTouch to access internet throughout the day the only disadvantage to this method is that I have to have interent access where ever I am trying to use it. Another problem with this method is that I do not have the ability to see everything that is on the sites I visit.

Student

Although I am attached to my iPhone, I primarily access the Web via my Macbook. I would much rather use my laptop when it comes to doing a homework assignment that requires Internet, checking out Facebook or Twitter, or doing work for my internship. For activities that would take a long period of time I opt for my laptop. This is because it is easier when doing a lot of typing, than dealing with the phone keyboard. Also, there are more capitabilities and I can have multiple windows open on one screen, while accessing any other necessary tool. However, when I need an answer to a quick question it is very conveient to type it into by iPhone. Mobile web browing most definantley makes things more convienent.
