Comments & Feedback
It seems to be quite irrelevant to leave a comment right now in the summer, but the book I read recently makes me think of this behavior of spending millions dollars on one commercial and the effectiveness of the spending. Is it effective? Of course it is. There were thousands millions people watching the game and some of them were even paying extra attention to the Super Bowl ads because od its well-known high cost. Research showed that most of those interesting and high-quality commercial actually enhance the positive attitude toward the products and brands. But there are exceptions. Some brands emphasized o much on the fun part that the brand images were undermined. Some people remembered the plot of the commercial but they had no idea what that brand that commercial was sponsored. In this case, millions of dollars are just money in the drain. On contrary, TV commercial is far away from being the most effective media for marketing and PR. With its high cost and people's ability of dodging the ad attack, the ROI of TV is so tiny. Social media and online blogging, on the other hand, are more effective and practical. As long as the target and what they want known, online ads can be controlled in low budget and conducted in high effectiveness. It is time to lose a little bit on the traditional media and leverage the power of digital media.
This years Super Bowl game was very exciting. I really enjoyed the commericals! They were funny for the most part, and some were very serious. My favorite commercial this year was the Budweiser one with the dog and the horse. It was beautifully made. It really grasped the attention of the audience. It appealed to me because it appealed to my emotions. I felt for the dog as he was stranded. I know that once the commercial aired, everyone in the room absolutely LOVED it.
Super Bowl XLIX was an exciting game, unlike last years... However, the commercials did not entertain me as much as they have in the past. I have to say I was quite dissappointed with several of them. Instead of the regular laugh-out-loud ads I noticed more had a sympathetic theme to them.
One that I was expeicially dissapointed with was the Jeep advertisement. It was played with the song "This Land is Your Land" in the background, but what confused me was when they started showing clips of people/locations all over the land. That particular song is specifically about America, not the entire world. So I was little thrown off with that. They should've chosen a different song or just made it an American commercial. I also strongly dislike the new Renegade that they featured in the commercial.
I've always loved the Super Bowl not just for the excellent football and plentiful spreads of snacks and beer, but also the commercials. Over the years, some companies have shown their brand presence very strongly by buying up a large amount of Super Bowl advertisement space each year, such as Bud Light, Doritos, and Snickers to name a few. They turn their advertisements in to their own little show during the Super Bowl, even having hype up commercials months before the game even has teams picked out. I know I'm not alone in looking forward to these advertisements every year
I have noticed that it is somewhat late to talk about Superbowl, but I definitely would like to mention about 2015 Superbowl advertisements! As if it is like a tradition, Superbowl is a huge place for fans, athletes, and also for companies. As the biggest platform where advertisements can go on among public, as an advertising-majored student, I always have picked out my favorite advertisements for every Superbowl. This year’s advertisements were also great, but this year I really wanted to focus on one commercial from Carl’s Jr. Even though this company is a fast-food franchise, their commercial was very focused on sexual-derived. I looked at past commercials from Carl’s Jr. as well, and was somewhat surprised how this company always pay attention on sexy female while advertising hamburger! Other than that, this year’s commercials were great to watch and to remember!
The Super Bowl is a worldwide event so it is the perfect days to air the brand’s commercial. I view this commercial as an interesting; its story telling style, its atmosphere is more like calm than loud. Super Bowl 2015: Mercedes-Benz Fable Ad. This is my favorite ad during the event 2015. Animation and a fancy car made a good harmony and the story was very familiar to me; the fable of a tortoise and a hare. Even though I could expect what would happen in this commercial, still it is funny.
The Super Bowl - also known as the biggest stage for advertisements - is a worldwide event. As a person who generally does not enjoy football, my only objective for tuning in is to watch the advertisements. My favorite ad from the 2015 Super Bowl was the Snickers ad. I thought the 30 seconds Snickers spot was hilarious. Steve Buscemi, one of my favorite actors, was just frosting on the cake after seeing Danny Trejo play Marsha Brady. The throwback to an old favorite The Brady Brunch surely caught many of the older viewers' attention and made them laugh, so I think it was a very strategic creative plan.
I only watched about 20 minutes of the Super Bowl and then fell asleep before halftime. However, I did get to see the Budweiser commercial with the puppy. I was looking forward to this one ever since last year. I'm an animal lover and this years actually made me get teary eyed. (I'm a sap). Here's a link to my favorite commercial this year: Budweiser Super Bowl 2015 Commercial
The superbowl commericals are always a huge deal. However, this year it seemed like most people were rather dissapointed with the commericals. The brand Loctite got a lot of heat prior to the superbowl as they annouced they used almost all of their yearly budget to advertise during the game. However, their commerical seemed to be a favorite of most viewers! It definitely got people talking with all the weird fanny packs and dancing! Did it make everyone want to go out and buy glue? Will they see an increase in sales? My guess is probably not significantly but at leas the commerical gained them a lot of brand awareness. I know I sure didn't know this brand prior to the superbowl!
I watched the Super Bowl this year like I have since as long as I can remember, but not being a fan of either team I decided to focus more on the commercials. I am a big fan of the comedic commercials but this year I felt that they were somewhat lacking. There seemed to be more of a focus on the feel good commercials and many that I thought were even semi-depressing. I did enjoy the snickers commercial with the Brady Bunch, Steve Buscemi, and Danny Trejo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UO2A2p-19A
I was really disappointed with the Super Bowl Ads. Usually, these ads were supposed to be funny and exciting, as well as entertaining. Instead, we got a huge slap in the face by some of the really negative or depressing ads about kids dying and deadbeat dads. Strange stuff. The only one that I really liked was the Clash of Clans commercial with Liam Neeson. That one seemed to be a good one. Other than that, I was very disappointed, and I hope someone decides to make it different next year. Better luck next time guys!

A Hit and A Miss
This year at the superbowl, Budweiser delivered on their usual clydesdale-puppy heartthrob ad, but later went on to anger the internet and beer drinkers everywhere when they condescendingly talked down to the ever-growing micro and craft beer industry. Budweiser's "Brewed the Hard Way" commercial essentially insulted craft beer patrons around the globe touting, "our beer is for people who like gettin' drunk!" All the while, Budweiser itself is actually buying up the small companies who were the ones producing the peach pumpkin spice ale they so arrogantly downplayed. Personally I thought the ad came across like the company was feeling extremely threatened and afraid of their shrinking market share.
This year like every year for as long as I can remember I watched the game and had a group of my closest 20-30 friends over to enjoy the festivities as well. As we watched we of course commented on the commercials. This year more than other years they seemed to be filled with double D's and not even the good kind. There were so many dads and a lot of depression. I like commericals that make you laughed and that is why I enjoy this one from skittles http://youtu.be/O72cJpEZ6s8. So when it comes down to arguing about this years commercials settle it the usual way!
Unfortunately I am just reading this now so I was unable to tweet my favorite commercial during the game, however, if you go to my twitter you will see I posted quite a bit on Katy Perry (I'm honestly one of her biggest fans). The game was awesome to watch this year unlike last; it was actually super interesting at the end! In regards to the commercials, I honestly thought the best commercial was the first one. The Chevy commercial where the TV went blank was GENIUS. Everyone at the party I was at was freaking out. Another favorite of mine was the Budweiser Clydesdale horses and puppy commercial. I am SUCH a sucker for puppies and I know they have had one like it before, but its still one of my favorites. Now that I have talked about the two ads I really enjoyed, I have to talk about the T Mobile Kim Kardashian commercial. Honestly, they should not have done that. The only thing that made me laugh or caught my attention was the fact that next to her name all it said was “famous person”. I did not think it was a good advertisement whatsoever and thought what they were advertising was stupid. People are on their phones and use their data enough. They should not have wasted 4 million dollars on that!

I did watch the Super Bowl this year (Katy Perry killed it!) I watch just for the commercials and this year I thought they were really interesting. They sure did tug on some heart strings. They two that stuck out in my mind were the Budweiser commercial when the cutest dog in the world was going to be eaten by wolves until the amazing horses came to save the day. Super creative because what makes that commercial cute really has nothing to do with beer. The one that I thought was the most creative was the one for some cable company when the cable went out. We all screamed at the TV thinking it actually went out and then laughed for about 5 minutes when it came back on. I thought that was very, very smart seeing how those types of businesses are not that interesting to begin with. Overall, I enjoyed myself just by the commercials.
I actually did watch the Super Bowl this year and I thought that the commercials this year were kind of depressing. Yes they showed another happy Budweiser puppy commercial again, but I feel that there were more emotional commercials than happy ones overall. Even though a lot of the commercials were depressing, I still thought that they all had a strong message.
For example, I thought the anti-domestic violence commercial was very strong at proving a point. I was intrigued right away when the woman started ordering a pizza when the 9-1-1 operator answered the phone. Once I did research on the commercial, I found out that the audio was actually from a reall 9-1-1 call!
Another commercial that I thought was depressing was the "Make Safe Happen" commercial with the little boy narrating it. I thought the commercial did well at explaining its message of how childhood deaths can be prevented. I was shocked to find out that the boy narrating the story said he wouldn't be able to do all the things he said he wanted to do because he died.
As a whole, both of these commercials were emotionally depressing. But the emotional tactic worked at keeping my attention to both of these commercials. This ultimately allowed me to pay attention to both of the messages the commercials were portraying.
I have to admit, I didn't watch the Super Bowl. I know, I know, I'm probably one of two people in America who wasn't tuned in.. I did however, keep up with some of the action through social media. I also feel an obligation to watch the commercials that made it to the oh-so coveted spots, as advertising is my industry. After watching some of the best (and worst) of the commercials online, I have to say that my favorite is Nationwide's "Invisible Mindy" ad. Not only is it humorous and features two of my favorite celebrities (Mindy Kaling and Matt Damon), but I also thought the message was very clever. It was a great contrast to the other, more controversial Nationwide ad.
Overall, I thought Nationwide did a great job of creating ads for multiple contexts. Mindy's ad was light and funny, while the other was shocking and emotional.
I love the Super Bowl and the commercials that go with it , and have followed it every year. This year I found it interesting some of the comemercials that were pulled form the Super Bowl, because of the time and money that must have went into them. For example the one from Go Daddy.
After watching the Super Bowl and all the criticsms of ads a day after, it seems appalling that one single spot costs $4 million dollars. Commercials such as the Nationwide ad that received hefty scolding seem so naive to have cost a company that much money to produce! Although I understand the importance of advertising during the most watched event each year, it seems that a review board for these commericals needs to be implemented. This ad was hated by almost everyone I was watching it with and it somehow cost so much to produce and had such negative reaction!
Like most advertising majors, I find that the commericals aired during the Super Bowl are of the same importance to me as the main event. Some years, when the game is a complete blow-out and there's no need to hang on the edge of your seat and stay engaged, I find that the commericals are even the highlight of the occasion. This year, one of my favorite commercials was Toyota's "My Bold Dad" spot. I've always had a very close relationship with my dad, and he's been there for me through it all. Watching that commercial, I saw my dad in it; dealing with bugs for me, picking me up in the rain, and teaching me how to become a good person. On top of that, I've always had a lot of respect and a big soft spot for all of the men and women who join the armed forces and protect the life I have. Watching a strong dad who has been there for his daughter through it all drop her off for what can be assumed to be military deployment really struck a cord with me, and made me tear up. In a room of all my friends, including the guys who live to make fun of me, that commerical brought be to tears and I wasn't the least bit ashamed. Well done, Toyota. For once it's not Budweiser, Doritos, or GoDaddy that I think of first when I think of Super Bowl commericals.
Being a snowboarder that would rather watch the xgames than a football game...I was surprised at how entertained I was with the airing. Of course the commericials are what really made it worth watching, but the game itself was pretty entertaining too! My favorite commerical was by far the BudLight Pac Man commerical- it is almost everyone's dream to be able to be the main guy running away from the monsters in the real life game. BudLight always comes up with such fun commericals that take an ordinary person and put them in an extraordinary situation. Good job BudLight, keep allowing us to live our fantasies through your commericals!

THANK GOD, we finally got a Super Bowl that wasn't as boring as watching paint dry. As a long time sports fan, and an advocate of smashmouth football I m happy with the results of last night's game. There is no replacement for passion and ruthless agression.
That said, I loved the Mindy commercial by Nationwide. Not only am I an avid watcher of "The Mindy Project" on FOX, but it was awesome to see comedy writers become involved with National advertsising once again. PLUS, I'm a Matt Damon fan :)
The Chevorlet commercial RIGHT before the game started was so clever! Perfectly placed at the beginning of the game and had a great purpose behind why they created that certain commercial. Such a brilliant and creative idea! For sure caught everyone's attention!!
Make Safe Happen is my favorite 2015 Super Bowl Commercial. While everyone is watcing the game, the commercial reminds us to BE SAFE. It's really important because life would only come with once. No matter how amazing the game is, without living alive, nothing is cool anymore. The video is shooting from a child's view, I really like how the little boy acts in the scene because he looks very innocent and shouldn't dead at this young age which I believe this story really does call attention to many audiences.
I am a huge Breaking Bad fan, like most of the rest of the world, so when I saw the Esurance commercial with Bryan Cranston I was so exctied! Walter White is such a good character, and putting him in a parmachy was a great idea. Everyone associates him with drugs right away, so throwing him in with the "other" kind of drugs, makes it very easy to remember. I ope all you Breaking Bad Fans love this as much as I did!
I enjoyed this year's Superbowl commercials. Many people thought them to be too emotional or sad, however this was something I appreciated. I particularly loved the Always commercial #LikeAGirl. It made me feel proud to be who I am as a young woman, as well as hopeful for the future of women. I had seen an extended version of this ad a few months prior, however there is something special about it being played during the Superbowl. I think it's important for a company to take full advantage of the Superbowl commercials, if they are able to pay the price. It's very interesting for me to see the progression from year to year of how different companies target their audiences, or maybe try and intrigue new audiences.
Always, #LikeAGirl commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjJQBjWYDTs
For a game that started off slowly, the halftime show, commercials, and final quarter more than made up for the lack of excitement in the early stages of the game. The Chevy commercial was the first to catch my attention, and I spent (probably too much) time reading responses to the advertisement on Twitter. Clearly, Chevy got the buzz that they were looking for, but at the end of the day I feel that some of the content of the commercial was lost. Apart from Chevy, the most memorable commercial from the first half was the Snickers "Brady Bunch" spot featuring Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi. While I won't deny that I am a HUGE Katy Perry fan...I must say that I was less than impressed with her halftime performance. I know that artists are pretty limited in what the networks allow them to do and how much live singing they actually do, but the overall feel to the halftime show was weird and erratic to me. Easily the best part of the halftime show was the internet's response to the DANCING SHARKS! All in all, I feel that this Super Bowl was packed with emotional ad spots, lots of puppies, reminders to thank our dads, and a lack of the knee-slapping, didn't-see-that-coming plot twist commercials of Super Bowls past. With the cost of advertising climbing every year, I'm upping my expectations for agencies to come up with original, memorable material.
My favorite 2015 superbowl commercial was "Brewed The Hard Way", because it really showed how Budweiser thinks of itself as a brand and as an industry standard. The add has no narrative, only text, which really helps it make a bold statement. There were a lot of great commercials this year but I like how this ad took a stand as the classical beer and still promotes it as the best.
Every year come Super Bowl time I always get excited to watch the commercials because they're just so entertaining. This year I was a little disappointed because I was really looking forward to watching the commercials, seeing as how I finally figured out that I wanted to be an Advertising major. There weren't a whole lot of humerous ads which are the ones I always remember so I was a little let down. Even though I felt this year's Super Bowl commercials were lacking I did enjoy a few of them like for Snickers and Fiat.
This year I was actually excited to be stuck in the snow. I went home for my brother's surprise birthday party on Saturday, and had to stay at home all day Sunday because of the crazy snowstorm. I was happy to be in a low-key environment because I got to fully enjoy each and every commercial. I saw some that I loved, and some that I absolutely hated. Besides the obvious favorites, like the Budweiser puppy and Coke spreading happiness, my favorite commercial was about the Chevrolet Truck. It seemed normal until the TV was thought to have gone out, and then went on to say that if that were to happen, you could watch the Super Bowl in your Chevy truck because it had Wi-Fi! I loved how clever it was and how it caught my attention. It was different, relatable and got the point across. Bravo, Chevy, Bravo!
This years Super Bowl had manay great commericals. I had many favorites to choose from but with out a doubt my favorite was The First Ever Draft. This commerical made me laugh out loud. I am glad that that made something so simple as Mexico using the avocado in foods and creating a way to express it that made people appreciate a food as simple as avocados.
My favorite commercial is the Lost dog by budweiser. I have two dogs, so when I see that puppy it really touched my heart. There is one shoot shows the puppy stay in a box and outside of it was huge rain, the facial expression of that dog is so cute. I love the music also, it really match up with the story. This commercial is not really focus on the product itself, but the story is enough to make people remember this brand. I like those ads that not just directly tells you what is our product and fuction, that makes me feel like to be sell. The ads I don't like the most is the Kim Kardashian one by T-moblie. First of all, if they try to make a sad emotion about this ads, why she only wear a bra inside of the suit. It's not professional or sexy. At the beginning of the ads, the title they give Kim is "famous person", that just makes me speechless. I don't get the whole point of this ads.
Budweiser never fails to entertain viewers during the Super
Bowl. Each year they come up with a new way to incorporate their famous Clydesdales
and touch the hearts of everyone watching. This year’s “Best Buds” commercial
was definitely one of my favorite ads of the night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAsjRRMMg_Q
Super Bowl Sunday is like Christmas for Advertising majors. We all gather around our TVs with wings and beer in hand to see what the advertising agencies have come up with this year. The commericals were a bit of a let down for me this year; many of them were filled with seriousness on one of the most fun days in America. The most memorable commerical for me was from Budweiser. Their "#BestBuds" commerical made me cry last year and it did just the same this year. I'm sure they went with the same theme because they had such a strong response from last year's Super Bowl, and it worked. I love the way they are able to make their viewers feel the freindship between the dog and the horse and Budweiser wants you to feel that friendship when you have a sip of their beer. I think it's a great tactic and everyone seems to enjoy their heartfelt commercials. I think that the worst commerical this year was T-Mobile's that featured Kim Kardashian. I understand why it was supposed to be funny, but I am not a Kim Kardashian fan therefore I found the commerical rather annoying. Everything she said in the commerical about taking pictures of herself and her makeup and outfits is true, and after a while it gets old seeing her everywhere. So no T-Mobile, seeing more of Kim Kardashian doesn't make me want roll-over data, it actually makes me want to throw away my cell phone.
This year the super bowl ads took to more of an emotional appeal than in the past. To me, it seemed that most of the companies focused on improving their brand image through the association of the emotional appeals used in the ads rather than emphasizing a call to action or selling point. This is especially true for the car industry. Nissan's "With Dad" and "How Great I Am" spots focused on family dynamics and overcoming great odds, respectively. I personally loved the use of Muhammad Ali’s voice over in the “How Great I Am” spot. I thought it helped to tell the story and added power to their core message of anything is possible – without the voiceover I think the spot would have fallen flat. However, my favorite spot was the Fiat’s “The FIAT Blue Pill.” This one caught my attention because it was raunchy humor that was successfully executed, and it was unexpected. We don’t usually see this kind of ad from Fiat, so people will remember it and I think it gave their brand some much needed sass.
Super Bowl Sunday is always a great holiday whether your team is apart of it or not. It always involves great friends, great food, great beer, and lots of great spots... and being an advertising major I pay special attention during commercial breaks. I would have to say my second favorite commercial was the nissan commercial "with dad". It was emotional in all the right ways and was the first commercial the entire bar stopped what they were doing to watch. My first favorite and most memorable in my opinion was Chevy's commercial, which gave fans at home a heart attack, and if you caught it at the moment you were in awe with how great they did!! A simple advertisement showed in the best most creative way.
To be honest, I am not a football fan except when it comes to tailgating and the Super Bowl. Suprisingly the actual Super Bowl game was pretty eventful and kept my attention. Every year I pay close attention to the commercials on the breaks and see what commercials I like best. This year the commercials were okay and I had a couple favorites that I enjoyed watching. One of my favorite commercials was the Budweiser commercial which I know was a favorite for many other people. I think the main reason I loved the commercial is because of my obsession for dogs and sentimental things. Another commercial I enjoyed was the Victoria Secrets commercial. I love Victoria Secret and I've always wanted to be a VS model in my mind. Their commercial is always sexy and I like to think one day I will eventually be a VS model.
Although I am a football fan, my team unfortunately did not make it to the Superbowl. Therefore, Superbowl Sunday became more about the commericals - and watching with friends.
The commercials this year seemed to carry heavier messages with less comediac relief than in years past. Brands - such as Always, Dove Men + Care, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, and Budweiser - addressed age old discussions about the importance of relationships and respect. Although many of these commercials did not have an ultimate comediac punch line, they all brought a smile to many viewers' faces.
Many Americans live in a very high-stress environment. 2015 was the perfect year to remind viewers of the importance of family ties and being happy. So even though many complained about the commercials lacking the laughs we have all become accustomed to, a heart-warming smile was just what the advertisers ordered.
With that being said, my top five 2015 Superbowl commercials were:
- #RealStrength {Dove Men + Care}
- Pay with Lovin' {McDonald's}
- #MakeItHappy {Coca-Cola}
- #LikeAGirl {Always}
- Lost Dog {Budweiser}
I think the theme for the 2015 Super Bowl commercials was "sad" and "depressing." I was looking forward to seeing some funny commercials this year but I found myself tearing up rather than belting out. One of my favorites was the #LikeAGirl commercial done by Always. I'm sure some real "bros" out there thought, "Why the f*%k is a pad commercial airing during the Super Bowl?" I loved everything about this commercial. Seriously, when did something become "like a girl?" I think it's time we break this stigma and I think this commercial is doing a great job at that. As expected, Budweiser aired a number of commercials during the Super Bowl. The one that made me chuckle was their "Brewed The Hard Way" commercial. It cracked me up because I think all Budweiser beer taste gross and they tried so hard to make it look like desirable. I must say, if I had never tried Budweiser beer before I might actually believe their commercial. Out of all the commercial, my favorite by far was the Doritos one with the guy on the plane. I think it was my favorite because it was relatable and funny. I'm a sucker for the funny commercials and Doritos has been known to come out with some funny ones in the past. The worst Super Bowl commercial was easily Kim Kardashians. I lost some respect for T-Mobile in this one. Nothing about Kim is appealing to me. The commercial was about not wasting unused minutes and Kim was acting like it was such a tragedy. If it were coming from someone else, maybe I would have thought the commercial was funny but I though it was very tasteless in my opinion.
I just came across this article from USA Today College that seems relevant. I couldn't agree more that a lot of the commercials this year were terribly timed. I like how this article also tied in tweets from the public about the commercials. Check it out!

Great ad by Microsoft using emotion to reach out to their audience. Inspiring.
I am your typical commercial viewer, with about 20 times the emotion added in. The ads I enjoyed most this year were no different than the ones I've always loved. Sometimes it amazes me that a simple commercial about a car can make me miss my dad, give me chills down my back and bring tears to my eyes, but then I remember the power that visual masterpieces can have on our minds. One of my particular favorites was the ad for Nissan (http://youtu.be/Bd1qCi5nSKw) and displayed a relationshp between a father and his son. I also really enjoyed the commercial for Always which included girls sharing their trials and tribulatoins with self confidence. Their "Like a Girl" campaign brought me back to a time in my life where I was fearful of almost nothing, and made me proud to be the woman that I am (http://youtu.be/XjJQBjWYDTs).
I was disappointed with the a majority of the commercials this year. We were having fun time, eating Qdoba, drinking beer, and then a depressing commercial comes along. I understand that is the way they can hit people, emotionally, but I still think they could have taken a different route with a lot of them. At least a route that didn't silence the whole room. That is one of the main reasons why my favorite commerical was the Fiat commerical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAcLViTHDOo . I had no idea where the commercial was going or what it was about so it kept me watching. A lot of the car commercials, I know it's a car I am not interested in so I dont pay too much attention to it. This one kept my attention and I watched it all the way through.
I liked the superbowl commercials this year. A lot of emotions were triggered. Happy and sad commercials sometimes came on right after another. I love the humor many of the commercials had. If a commercial makes you giggle when you think about it, it did it's job. The BMW i3 and the McDonald's "dance to pay" commercials were my favorite because of my interests. The i3 is made in a windpower warehouse which is awesome considering the environment and the couple in the car was interracial which isn't very common. The McD's commercial made me smile the entire time and it really makes you think how good they are at communicating the "smile" message to its audience. Connecting everyone through kindness and happiness. Great commercial. My #1.
I was surprised by this year’s Super Bowl commercials. In the past, companies have focused on humor and attention grabbing messages. This year, it seemed to me that companies were taking a more emotional angle with their advertisements. Commercials like “With Dad” by Nissan and “My Bold Dad” by Toyota it definitely proved that these companies knew dads were watching and knew they wanted to tug at some heart strings. Even though it was different, it sort of changed the mood of the whole event. Instead of looking forward to the commercials, I found myself nervous to see what would come next because I didn’t want to find myself balling on my couch.
So it turns out the team I was rooting for didn’t win the Super Bowl. Pretty upset that the Seahawks coach Pete Carroll didn’t let Marshawn run the ball in to get ahead and most likely win.
Still, it was a great game and I did get to enjoy some of the commercials. I mentioned on my Twitter account about the Mercedes Benz commercial with the Rabbit and Tortoise being one of my favorites. What are your thoughts?
This year I think the Super Bowl lacked creativity when it came to most of the advertisements that aired. I look forward to the Super Bowl because of ads and I was disappointed with a majority of the ads that I saw. Some of them made little sense, like Kim Kardashian's T-Mobile ad, while other's such as Nationwide's- Make Safe Happen put a damper on what should be a joyous event. I do believe that the Nationwide ad had an important message, but I don't believe the Super Bowl was the right time for the ad to air. Overall, there were still a few ads that I enjoyed such as the Loctite Glue commercial because it was memorable, funny, and out there. The other ad I really enjoyed was the Always #LikeAGirl commercial, I think it was inspiring and beautifully done.
I was slightly disappointed with the lack of comedic commercials this year. Everyone can appreciate a emotionally appealing commercial for certain brands, but when you can count the number of commercials that made you laugh on one hand, I think we have a problem. The only commercial that was even remotely memorable was (of course) the Budweiser commercial. Who can deny an unconditional friendship between a dirty puppy and a beautiful horse? No one. I hope we can stray away from the trend of sappy commercials next year, or I really believe that Superbowl commercials are going to lose their appeal.

Can we talk about Budweiser's "Brewed the Hard Way" commercial? It's genius. And I'm pissed. They've officially made IPAs uncool. I can no longer go to farm to table restaurants without feeling like an idiot. My ironic tshirt will create more eye-rolls than laughs now.
They've won this battle. But the war is on.
Personally, I really like the commercials during half time.
The best commercial that I like was the Doritos commercial.
Each year, Doritos advertise really creative commercials.
Also, this Doritos' commercial for this year was also creative.
