As we come to Thanksgiving week, let's think about all we have to be thankful for. Our health, our families, going to a great school like Michigan State University. We should also be thankful for all the digital tools that make our lives easier.
The apps, the voice activated helpers, the websites, the social media, etc. Do you have a favorite app that you are grateful for or a favorite digital tool that improves your life?
I'm a big fan of TinyScanner - it allows me to scan documents and send them to people very easily over my phone. Also SignIt allows me to sign things and send over the phone. Life is easier w/ all these digital tools.
Comment on your favorite. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for my iPhone and most of the apps on it. Mostly Maps. I commute back and forth consistently between East Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Detroit, so I am always needing the fastest route possible to commute efficiently. So Maps is great. My car also has Apple Car Play which essentially turns my radio into an iPad, and blows up the Maps app from my phone so that it takes up my whole radio and I do not have to keep looking down or worry about hooking my phone to the dashboard. In addition, I love all social media, especially Facebook.
Great topic! I am thankful for so much. In the midst of a very busy and hectic semester, its easy to lose the perspective of how we have so much opportunity and things to be thankful for. I have an amazing support system of family and friends that I don't know what I would do without.
I love my Iphone and all the ways it makes my life easier. My most used app is Maps. Thank You Maps! I would be lost without you, literally. The music app on my Iphone is awesome as well. Especially for working out and long hours on the road. Im pretty simple when it comes to using apps, but a few days ago my younger cousin introduced me to this dancing game app called, Cheez. Check it out, it's soo much fun!
There are many things to be thankful for and it is always nice to reflect on those things during this time of year. First and most importantly is the people that I am surrounded by and my health. Following that, the opportunities that I have been lucky to be presented with. I am thankful I live in a country that protects my rights and gives me the right to express my beliefs without fear of backlash. I understand these may be cliche, but they are the fundamentals to me. Apps I am thankful for include the ones that allow me to keep in touch with my family and friends. I am also thankful for music and sports, the two biggest interests that I have.
I'm thankful for so many things. First, my family for their contiual love and support. I'm also thankful for friends, music, food, movies, social media, a job, a house, and a good education.
I'm really thankful for my family and how they support me in everything I do. Getting ready to move out to San Diego after graduation and my family is backing me 100% and I'm sure they'll love to visit! I'm thankful for good music too because that is always fun to enjoy ya know? I've seen so many good concerts this year and I'm just so grateful that people are out there making great music for us to consume
I am thankful for so many things, and when I think about these things digital tools have never really come to mind before. However, when it comes down to it I am very grateful for many applications! Namely adobe applications such as Premiere Pro and InDesign. I do so much of my creative work on these mediums and definitely take it for granted. Today my professor was showing us old cameras and tapes, this makes me realize how easy we have it today with all of the fancy digital tools. Just recently these things we have would have been unfathomable, we forget about the medium and focus on our craft, but it is good to take a moment to be grateful for the ease that technology gives us in life. Thank you to whoever created the software that makes editing videos and graphics so easy today! (Fianl comment for week 10)
Since I have started running a business, my favorite apps are plain and simple: the calendar app and notes. I have never been a planner, write on paper type of person so having all of my notes on my phone is extremely helpful with orders and tracking inventory. I also love the calendar because I have a terrible memory and often forget when I'm supposed to be somewhere or doing something. I set alerts through it so I am reminded.

I'm thankful for a lot of things. Sometimes not so thankful for social media because it takes up a lot of my time. I actually use TinyScanner as well!! I don't have a scanner and the app makes it look like the documents were actualy scanned as opposed to just emailing a photo of the document. I'm a huge fan of the delta app. Seems weird but it makes traveling a lot easier not having to search for my boarding pass with three other bags in hand.
Although sometimes I act as though i'm anti-social media and against the overusage of technology as a whole in our society, I also love it at the same time. I hate to say it but Snapchat and Instagram are two things i spend the majority of my phone usage on (besides messaging and calls). If we're not talking specifically apps then i would say iMessage overall is the best and most used thing on my phone. However, if we're talking the best software/app/feature of my laptop (old Macbook Pro), it has to be GarageBand because I love music/making music and GarageBand makes it really easy to be able to do that.
In terms of digital tools, I am thankful for social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. These prominent platforms have allowed me to connect with others both on a professional and casual level.
It's hard to believe how we survived before these platforms existed. We had to do things the old-fashioned way. But it will be interesting to know how exactly people dealt with things, particularly, on a career level without LinkedIn. Facebook is another example of how people view careers and the professional world differently, because a ton of businesses have used this platform to help raise awareness of their brand; one example is the brand I am currently using for this course, which is IBM.
In addition to the common platforms for professional development like the ones mentioned above, I enjoy the reacreational use of using the platform YouTube. I get to watch excerpts from my favorite TV shows and/or movies, as well as searching videos that pertain to topics for educational purposes.
The evolution of social media has come such a long way and is really revolutionizing industries and the way we engage in social situations.
This semester I have become thankful for the calendar feature on my phone. At the beginning of the semester, I loaded in all of my due dates on my computer and 24 hours before anything is due, my phone alerts me to finish or turn it in. All of my classes are color coded and organized to display multiple places and are all coordinated between my devices. It's a simple feature and on everybody's phone but as somebody who has used a planner/ journal for ever, this has made the transition easier. I no longer have to carry the bulky planner in my purse and can have the same organization and structure it gave me in my pocket.
I'm thankful for Instagram, I find it incredibly entertaining and useful and also slightly addictive. But it's a tool I use more than I would like to admit and I send my deepest thanks to insta 2k17, represent :) haha
I'm thankful for instagram because it keeps me updated with what my peers and favorite celebrities are doing. Fashion is very important to me, so being able to go on instagram and check out what my fashion inspirations wear definitely makes my life a little easier.
Honestly, I am thankful for Snaochat. It helps me keep in touch with more friends and people. It is like a middleman to communicating with someone. Sometimes people get bored when you text them every day and dont have mich to say, so snapchat allows you to just send pics and the other person responds. It doesn't need to be made into a conversation unless you want it to. It just makes communticating and keeping in touch way easier.
For me whatsapp is my favourite app. Being an international student, whatsapp make life so much easier to stay in touch with family in any part of the world. And the best part is that everyone has whatsapp now and can operate it. My grandparents to my neices, everyone knows how to use it. And free voice and video calling just brings me that muchh closer to home.
Apart from this, photo and video editing apps like inshot, maskart, vsco are a good way to feed my hobby of editing videos and photos.
I am a big fan of the music apps and sports apps. For example, I use Shazam quite often if a song is playing and I don't know the name of it. Also theScore is probably my favorite app on my phone due to its layout of all the current games going on and the way it updates. Apps make life easier for people to accomplish small goals no matter what they are.
It is so much to be thankful app, and certain apps definetely make my life a tad bit easier. I use the navigation app several times per day because it always update me on traffic, faster routes, and even my expected time arrival. Another digital feature that is helpful to me is the voice feature on the keyboard when I am texting. It is so much easier to talk when I am busy, instead of taking time out to text everything I have to say.
My favorate app right now is YouTube. Because it was the top app I use for spending my free time during a day. I'm not a Vloger, and I only watch different videos on YouTube. It is very nice that I can almost find everything on YouTube, no matter it's a TV show, an interesting Vlog from a famous YouTuber, or even a short video clip that teaches you how to use a bug killer. I usually like to watch videos from certain YouTubers I've subscribed, and I think these YouTubers are so cool and successful that their videos can always make me feel happy and curious about different things in life.
I am so excited to spend time with my family this week. There are so many things I am thankful for in my life right now but one of my favorite apps is MAPS. I have spent many days trying to understand how my mother and the people her age got around the United States or even just the city with electronic help. I am very good about remembering certain things especially when I there is a landmark and street signs. Without those things, I need the help of my phone. Another app I love is my banking app!! It allows me to view my balance with a simple finger prints and transfer money with a push of a button. I don't know if I could live without them. But thank you and you have a great holiday as well!
I am thankful for many things in my life the most important being God, family, and friends. Social media is definitely a resource I probably take for granted, but am extremely greatful for. My personal favorite apps are Twitter and Venmo. I like Twitter because it always seems to give me a great laugh, it's also a place where almost anything and everything is posted. I keep up-to date on a lot of current events, or celebrity updates, or even knowing what my friends are up to which is always nice. I also am a big fan of venmo. I pay all my bills to my roommates on venmo, I pay my friends for uber rides on venmo, and I also nanny and she pays me at times on Venmo. It's a very easy app and transferring the money straight to my bank account only takes a matter of a couple of days. These two apps I love and cherish!
I really thankful to a teacher who taught me art class when I was in primary school. I was bullyed by classmates oftenly. Once I was crying in the corner. She gave me a smile and talked to me. So I always remember her.
My favorite app recently is JoyRun. It can order many fast food but only in East Lansing. However, the delivery is fast, and the fee is cheap. Like it very much.
I think my favorite app is WeChat. WeChat is a very popular app in China. First, WeChat is a communication app. It can use like imessage and facetime, and all of these is free. Moreover, Wechat has a social function like facebook. We can share our photos, feellings and ariticles on Wechat. In rencent years, Wechat launched a new function named "wallet", it is very convience for our life. We can tranfer money to friends or pay for shopping by Wechat. In China, we do not need to bring cash or credit card, WeChat can use in everywhere.
My favorite app is Forest which is an app helping you stay away from your smartphone and stay focused on your work. It provides a reward and tracking system to further motivate me to continue. It actually uses rewards points to plant trees and I have to say is a good move. We can help the planet just by using a smartphone!
TinyScanner and SignIt both sound like apps that could come in handy in my life.
One very simple app I use every day is the Reminders app that is part of iOS. It helps me because I can be very forgetful. When I think of something I need to remember, like due dates, I just quickly type it into my reminders and set a remind alarm that gives me enough time to get the assignment done. I also use it to help get into better habits. I'll set a daily alert that reminds me to do the habit I've been working on either creating or breaking. For example I have one that reminds me not to bite my nails so much. I prefer the reminds app over the calendar because the calendar takes longer to use for me.
My favorite tool has to be voice activated helpers such as Siri. This tool has saved me so many times in instances that I shouldn't be texting such as driving or riding my bike to class. One thing that surprises me about Siri is how accurate it is. No matter how complex the sentence I say to my phone is, Siri knows what I'm saying. I'm so thankful for that this great companion always has my back!
WeChat is my favorite App. It is a combination of few different types mobile App, make my life easier. First, WeChat is a chatting App, it allows text message, voice message, voice and video chat on the same App. Then, it has a function called "moments", this function is similar to Facebook. It also has a function like PayPal, you can send or receive money. In China, it does not necessarily take my wallet when I go out, almost every store allows WeChat payment.
My favorite app outside of social media apps is definitely Venmo. Venmo is an app where you can link your bank account and easily send money to other people. It is so convenient for when my friends owe me money or when my mom needs to send me money. Very accessible and it is very beneficial to my lifestyle.
WeChat is a Chinese APP, which is so popular. 95% of the smart phone has installed WeChat in China. Why is WeChat so popular in China? Not only WeChat can be used as a communication tool, but also can it be used as a payment tool. In China, most people are not going the bring their wallet with them, because we can use our phone to pay everything. When I went back to China last summer, I found that every store was using WeChat to do their businesses. I think all Chinese may thankful for the convenient mobile app, WeChat. And I am enjoying to use this.
The most amazing mobile apps in my life is WeChat. WeChat is a Chinese social media mobile application software created by Tencent. I am a big fan of WeChat because it not only provides communication platform for us, but also provides different kinds of social serivices which are beneficial and convenient. The mobile app includes wallet(you can link to your credit/debit cards), payment code(just scan a QR code to make payment), games, moments(you can post videos, links, pictures, articles and your friends can see), WeChat Out(mobiles call), funny stickers(you can send funny stickers while chatting with friends). I really thankful for this mobile app and I love it! If you wanna try, just download it!
An app that I have that improves my life is called bible and is made by life church. I am a Christian and my religion has always been a big part of my life. Because of school and more responsibilities as an adult, I haven’t really been able to find that much time to be able to practice my religion, like going to church on a regular basis. This app makes it easier for me to stay connected to God. This app has a verse of the day, the holy bible in many different versions, and other Christian readings that have improved my life greatly.
I am thankful for the app named Kakaotalk. Because I contact with my family and friends from my home country through this app. And this app is so convenient to send messages, files, images, money overseas. This app makes my life much better and easy.
My favorite app that helps me out the most is the, by far, is the Food Network app. It provides recipes for whatever main ingrediant you are cooking for. The app also has quick videos as well as full episodes of your favorite Food Network stars. Not only is it very personal because you can pick who you watch and for how long, but it also gives specific dishes for the upcoming holiday, rather its Thanskgiving or Christmas.
I'm really thankful for my family and friends who are always accompanying and supprting me. My favorite app would be instagram of all of the apps that I have. Instagram allows me to share pictures and videos with some great filters to either my friends or people I may not know. In the meantime, I can view some great pictures or some hashtags that I'm interested in. It also keeps updating the function in their app to offer a better user experience which makes me be loyal to it and rank it as the top 1 app in my phone.
As an exchange student from China, I really like Wechat, which is a communication tool for most of Chinese people. You can not only use it to talk to some one, but also transform some files including photos, videos, words and etc. to others, which is really convinient. Besides. people can also share their life in Wechat, just like facebook.
There are also a lot of content producers on Wechat so you can follow them and get information in different aspects.
In addition, people can buy a lot of things on Wechat, like train tickets and movie tickets. And people can also call a cab or paying for their bills on it.
Im not a huge app fan but I am very thankful for my myfitness pal app along with apple exercise app. With the daily reminders these apps keep me motivated in the gym as I view my caloric burn.
I think WeChat was most useful app for all the Chinese students. We use WeChat all the time, because it can easily contact with friends and family with text message or a video call. We can also use WeChat to pay for anything that we buy in China, even we didn't have credit card or cash with us.
With my mobile device glued to my hand 24/7, there are many apps that I am grateful for. One of the apps that I am most thankful for is Spotify. Spotify is an app that allows users to explore and download music. Music is a big part of my like, I listen to music in almost every daily activity. The best part about spotify is that it's easy to use and helps me keep up with the newest music.
I am an international student, I always use Wechat contact my family and friends. All of their servises are free, we can use that app do video chat, transfer money. It is kind of like Skype plus Paypal. It's very convience, I want say "thank you" to Wechat team.
Google maps,
I am very thankful for this app becuase I couldn't imagine how i would get toall the places I've been without it. It has been nothing but helpful and helps not only me but the people I am in the car with. I enables me to see how far away places are and were the nearest barber shop is. It is by far the most useful and information app I own.
I want thanks a Chinese app named Redbook. There has many recommendation on that app, include life tips, travel, clothings, hotel. They have over of female users share they life on that app. The Redbook also sell many product like Amazon, they have two different channels. One of them is posts and other one is online retailers. I like it!
Google Maps.
I can't stress enough how much I love this application. Sometimes I think about the things I would've never been able to do or place I wouldn't have been able to go to if I didn't have this app. As someone who's not from the United States and has traveled to different towns within Michigan and outside using this application, its been able to make things possible for me. The option within the app to download certain areas onto your phone and being able to navigate through them lessens my worry when I'm running out of data and I have to travel on a bus and go to a new town where I've not been before.
My favorite app is MSUFCU APP. It is so helpful that I do not have to go ATM for check my balance. It is so comfortable just check with my phone. One day I checked my app and somehow my card got hacked through amazon. It was pending ,so I went to the bank and canceled it. It is very good app.
Facebook imporves my life alittle. Not only will I always work with it. But when i'm in a bad mood, Facebook always has the best videos to cheer me up. When I have too much time on my hands I also am thankful for Facebook. It will always keep me in touch with my friends. I can't ask for anything more than that.
Have a great Thanksgiving
I am thankful for many different apps. I'm thankful for my msufcu app which makes mobile banking so easy, Instagram because i am very into photography, and my dropbox app that makes it super easy to send good quality pictures to my clients. Apps definitely make life easier by being able to do so much at the tip of my fingertips.
I am going to be your typical sports fanatic and say I am most thankful for my ESPN app. There is nothing like almost falling asleep then waking up to that specific noise. When I am with my girl friends they say, “your boyfriend is texting you”, when I am with guy friends they ask “what happened”. Not only does the ESPN app keep me connected to the sports world but it is an effortless way to connect with other people which I love! I love talking to people and the ESPN app helps me to do that.
Being that I am going for a minor in Sports Business Management it is vital to my future career to know everything that is happening in the sports world. This is much like in advertising how it is important for us to go on adweek and stay up on all the new trends and such.
This year I am thankful for GroupMe. I had never had as many group projects, organizations and work groups as this semester. It definitely makes it a lot easier to communicate to a bunch of college students and my favorite part about it is that you can "like" messages, so that way I don't even have to respond half of the times, but I am still letting someone know that I read it and I am probably okay with it.
I am extremely grateful for my bank's (MSUFCU) mobile application. This application allows me to quickly transfer money between accounts when needed and also lets me check my balance when I'm out and about wondering if I may be able to afford to buy certain things or not. This app also has an "e-deposit" feature where users can take a photo of the check they wish to deposit and it will instantly be deposited into their bank account. I have used this function many times! It is very useful, especially for someone who has a hard time making it to the bank during their hours of operation. Other than that, I am very thankful for all social media applications (Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat) because they enable me to stay in touch with my family and friends and provide easy access to updates on their lives.
I am thankful for many different digital tools and apps, but I would say that the one I am most thankful for is the Instagram app. The reason why I am most thankful for this app, is because Instagram is my favorite social media platform. I am a big fan of photography/videography, and Instagram is a great platform for me to share my work, as well as viewing others. It is also a way I keep in contact with old friends and family as we all continue to grow and move on to different phases in our lives. I enjoy how simple and straightforward the app is. It has a very specific purpose, and I like that it has stuck with that over the past years.
