Consider sharing it with your friends.

We're reaching the end of the semester and you've been exposed to lots of new media marketing strategizes and techniques. While the curriculum covers a vast amount of information in reality we've only scratched the surface. Any given lesson could be an entire course. Additionally, there's lots of topics we didn't cover at all.

We often do a Q&A as part of the last class. Here is your opportunity to ask us questions about anything. It could be related to a lesson we covered, a lesson we didn't cover, work, getting a job or life in general.

Let us know what you'd like to know and we'll select a handful of questions to answer next week.

I really feel like I took a lot away from this class. I really appreciate all the effort that went into it because it shows to a student when a teacher puts in effort and unfortunately when they don't so thank you for being the ones that care. I don't believe I really have any questions for you guys though unfrotunately but thanks for a great semester.

Student

I want to know that how to put these skill into the problem we need to solve at work. Is there any specific case?

Thanks for all the course, it is really useful.

Student

I feel as though I have learned a lot thorugh the duration of this course. While I don't have a specific question off the top of my head. I would be interested in some more explanation of how exactly the reccomendations sections on the side of social media websites are able to suggest things for you and know things about you so quickly. I assume that there is some algorithm to it but it just seems to work so fast and accurately that some more explanation would be nice.

Student

I would love to know more about facebook advertising and how to be successfull with fb ads. I run an online business and have never mastered them and believe they could be very helpful.

How can we build the relationship with other workers who are new to us? What is the most important thing when we work as a group?

Student

Question: My career aspirations are to work in marketing, preferably in the sports world. Aside from getting experience and networking, what are some things I could do or focus on to set my self apart in such a competitive career path? What is an employer of marketing looking for in canidates?

Student

A  question I have is how many people are adapting to inbound marketing? And, from those that have how has it worked out for them?

I really enjoyed this class and feel that I got alot out of it. I know this will all helpt me out one day when I am searching for a job after I graduate. This has helped me to chance to see how it all comes together and works.

Student

What do you think will be different when we journey into an advertising job in the next few years? Things are constantly changing and adapting, where do you think things will end up and what can we do to ride that wave?

What are some good habits that you have that helps you come up with creative and orignal ideas?

Student

When do you decide that advertising/marketing is important to incorporate real funds to? How would you pitch this to a new business ?

Student

How would you recomment using google analytics? Hmm, by this I mean, I am not working on any projects at the moment but want to feel confident about GA. How would I go about doing this?

Student

I have learned a lot from this class and feel like it has been a real bennefit and taught me actual skills. I enjoyed the assignments and looking so in-depth into a company every week. I also feel like I could confidently start a blog now (not that I plan to but I feel like I could). I would easily recommend it to anyone in my major. I don't really have any questions but I am excited to hear the answers for other's questions that were posted in the comments. I guess if I need to ask a question - what is one life lesson you wish you knew at our age that you know now that doesn't have to do with the class?

Student

When do you approach marketing from a business standpoint? For instance, things like advertising cost money so do you wait until you have the excess capital or just jump right in at startup?

Student

This has been one of the most influential course I have taken throughout my college career. I am really grateful to have been able to take this course before I graduate this upcoming May. I learned a lot about the digital world and what it takes to succeed in digital marketing.

However, I'd like to know, how would you use these skills and lessons to help leverage your career? What are the best ways to incorporate this knowledge to make us better competitors in the communication/advertising industry?

Student

I really enjoyed this class, especially with my major being communications. One thing that I would like to know is how can I relate this course back to my profession on what I would like to do such as working in the communications aspect with the music/entertainement industry and the photography industry.

Student

I have few questions, the first one is: Does "Inbound Marketing" is really important for a company? Do you have any suggestions for graduating students about how to learn inbound marketing? The second one is: How to prepare for an interview? Thank You!

Student

What is one of the most useful thing you have learned or needed to when going into your first advertising job?

What is one big thing that advertising recruiters look for on your resume?

Student

This class helps me understand how social media can incrementally impact a company. If I can become a website editor, I will help the company that I work and use the knowledge I got in this class to make the company become more professional.

I have a question about the life: I think ADV 420 is one of the most useful classes in the college. Can you recommend some other classes that are also useful for me?

Student

One class that I really enjoy now is EAD 315 Student Leadership Training, it helps you figure out your goals for the future and a better understanding on what leadership is.

Student

I really appreciate this class because it helps me what should I prepare for a company.

My question: what advice do you have for me as a junior in college?

Student

I really loved this course as it allowed for a lot of exploration of different platforms while still tying it to researching one particular brand. For me, I'd like to know what other career options these skills can be applied to other than simply working for an agency? I'm interested in pursuing a different path than that of a large company.

Student

What is some advice you have for someone that is searching for post-graduation jobs?

After having agency experience, what would you say makes candidates stand out the most?

Student

I enjoy this course a lot and learned something different from my major. As an international student, the most thing I care a lot is how should I get a job in USA and how can I become a permanent residence of USA with green card.

Student

I really enjoyed this course and the topics we covered during the semester. I learned a ton about marketing strategies and I think this will help me as I move forward in my career. I think it would be interesting if the course covered social media marketing more in-depth. Social media is probably the biggest platform for marketing in the modern day and I would have loved to cover social media marketing for a couple weeks in a row. Other than that, great course.

Student

I'd like to start off by saying this is a great course that I would/will recommend to my fellow MSU students because of how many different things i've learned that I feel i will actually be applying to my post-school life. I don't really have questions but I am grateful for the opportunity to take this course.

Student

I really enjoyed the assignments I did in this class, and would enjoy doing this as a career, or something similar. What job titles in advertising do you recommend I look into to do something like create new ways to target the main audience or come up with personas, or plan out ads, commercials, etc.?

Student

I'd love to get  your advice on how to really impress employers at our first jobs after graduation. Do you have any tips on how we can really go above and beyond and show them that we mean business? Creating valuable connections with people who will look out for your best interest (in both one's personal and career life) is so important and I want to make sure to do so at each new job I take going forward. Also, after leaving a job - how do you recommend staying in touch with previous employers? How does one not be annoying? What should be talked about? I'm terrible at small talk STILL, so any advice on topics to bring up would be super helpful! Thank you! I really enjoyed this course.

Student

I think the one thing I'd like to know more about when it comes to the digital world is CSS and HTML. Do you think that these skills are necessary or will become more prevalent in the future? If so, how can someone go about learning them?

Student

When applying for jobs what is the best way to set yourself apart. Many people have college degrees and amazing internships but how will I make a lasting impression on the company.

In addition what is your most importaant interview tip and how can I become better at interviewing.

Student

When ever I am in an interview they seem to go amazing and I always have an answer for eveyrthing they ask me but when it comes to me asking them questions I draw a blank, do you have an suggestions on good questions to ask or is it okay that I am not asking questions?

Sometimes it seems like I should take the first job that comes my way because that maybe the only one but I also want to wait for the best job for me. Is it better to wait or should I just be jumping into the first one?

Question regarding class, I have a missed participation but there was no blog pos up that day is that going to count against me?

How did you enjoy reading out assignemnts this year? Were they as fun to read as they were to write because I thoroughly enjoyed my topic!

Student

-What is a good question to ask in an interview, that helps really make you stand out to the employer?

-If I am trying to go into a creative field, should I get a little creative with my resume so some of my personality can come through? Or do employers like it more plain and straightforward?

-What is the best advice you were given about post-grad and your initial job search process?

Student

I enjoyed this class and how each lesson built on the last and by the end you had already done all of the heavy work for the final. How accurate is the experience of doing this work in relation to doing work in the field? Also, what kind of job do you want to look for if you wanted to do this kind of work?

Student

1. What certifications do you recommend?

2. In digital advertising, what advantages do we have competing those data science people?

3. I always want to be a planner because I think I have good ideas. But planners in an agency are always old staffs and they generally don't take rookie in. Is there any other direction I should think about?

Student

What would be your ideal fall-back job if you suddenly stopped doing what you are doing now?

The language used on resumes mostly seems like complete B.S. to me. It seems like you have to inflate what you actually did for work to stand out and I don't like that. Is there a way to sound genuine and truthful but also still impressive?

Student

While searching for jobs on Indeed, I often see digital marketing jobs that want candidates to have a background with web design and CSS/html coding. While I know that is a good skill to have, how necessary is it to land a digital marketing job at this time? Should it become a necessary part of the curriculum to learn those skills?

Student

What are the main skills that stand out to employers?

What do you think is necessary to include in a resume?

Student

I think it is very interesting and fun course. I really enjoy this course because I picked one of my favorite brands and did a lot reasearch about it. I mean it is very fun to do reasearch and know more about the things you are interested in. It is my last semester in MSU, I am glad that chose this course. And I am wondering are we doing fine with our own brands? Do you think we know the brand well? I am thinking about find a job about this kind of brands. Thank You

Student

This is a very good semester and I am really happy to study this course. But I am still wondering what kind of people advertising companies want? what is the most important skill for advertiser?

Student

I thought this class was a cool way to put to use what I've learned in other classes. I liked choosing a company that we wanted in order to assess its digital strategy. I guess I'd like to know more about SEO. I also would like to know if we have to present if we are chosen.

Student

I have really valued this course and the information I gained on online advertising in whole. What would be the most important skills to get certified in? and what would be the most important skills to put on my resume in order to stand out from others?

Student

This course has been very helpful in answering many questions I have about advertising and the importance of an online presence. The main question I have would be what additional certifications do you recommend, particularly for business students?

Student

This class was very interesting and I enjoyed that it was focused on new media and creativity.  It was all very applicable to the advertising and marketing industry.

Questions:

-In your opinion, what is the most valuable certification you can obtain?

-How do you personally continue your learning?

-What platform of social media do you work on the most?  What are some common challenges with it?

-What would you recommend to someone that is interested in digital media?

Student

I've really enjoyed this class this semester, it has been helpful when preparing for real world jobs after graduation. I do have a few questions in regards to entry level position interviews:

1. What skills do you look for in an ideal advertising candidate?

2. What questions do you think are best to ask at the end of an interview?

Student

I loved this class this semester, my questions are should you put your GPA on your resume, and how detailed should it be? Is it acceptable to put any links to external sources like LinkedIn on it?

Student

This class has been very helpful!

Questions:

- Should GPA go on resume?

- What are the best skills to show during an interview?

Student

This class has been very beneficial!

What are additional ways or resources to further our digitial marketing skills and knowledge after the class is over?

Thanks!
