OK students, it's time to come clean. We all know Michigan State University is a wonderful place to be. But I'm curious, what makes it amazing for you? Is it the great classes, the campus, sports teams, fraternities or sororities, friends? Comment on this post and tell me why you feel MSU rocks.
I can tell you, I love many things about MSU. Campus in the Spring is amazing. The Football games are so much fun to attend, and I really like being a part of the Spartan Family. And tonight MSU should beat Purdue in basketball. Let's Go Green!

The thing about MSU that I love most is how proud I am to go here, and how everyone else is as well. Today I had the opportunity to speak to high school students touring here, and I was pretty amazed at how much I could come up with about how great MSU is. I talked about some of our top-ranked education programs,I talked about how there is never a dull moment here, and I talked about how I have never for one second regretted coming here in the first place. I don't want to leave!
I've always been a huge MSU fan since I was a kid, and I think the thing that drew me was the sports.
I love the basketball and football teams, and the fact that I'm currently on the wrestling team doesn't hurt either.
I have a twin who was always a U of M fan growing up, so when it came to sports, I always loved watching MSU take on Michigan.

My favorie thing about Michigan State University is its campus on Spring and Summer. I have stayed here for summer last year, and the weather was perfect. Campus was beautiful and I really enjoyed riding my scooter around the campus. I really miss that time. I also love our basketball team, and I wish we could make it to the finals of the tournament and get that trophy this year.
I have to say that as an out of state student, the campus was the main draw for me. I always knew that I wanted a larger school, and as an only child I was blessed with the opportunity of choosing whatever school I thought would fit best for me. I visited plenty but as soon as I stepped out of the car and onto the Michigan State University's campus one day in the summer of 2008, I knew I was home. People were beyond friendly and the campus held enough beauty outside as well as inside. As we began to walk around and be led by the tourguide, the school began to fall into place. I loved the variety of academics offered and could see the potential in all that I could achieve here.
There are so many awesome things about MSU, I don't even know where to begin! I've been an MSU fan since birth! Both of my parents are alumni, as well as my older brother and many extended family members. MSU is and always has been a huge part of my life. I remember being an MSU cheerleader for Halloween in kindergarten, and attending football and basketball games. I love everything about MSU. The colors, green and white. The beautiful campus. I cannot forget the best mascot on earth, Sparty!!! Tailgating for home football games is my favorite pastime. On top of all of that, I love the students, the student organizations, the endless amount of opportunities for us, and of course the Communication Arts and Sciences College. I love the cafeterias, the CATA bus system (seriously!) the Red Cedar, the botanical gardens, and and and. I really could go on and on. I am proud to be a Spartan and will forever represent.
THe campus is the reason I wanted to come to Michigan State. I love it today because of the friends that I have made throughout my four years here. Having two sports teams do very well also made my time here more enjoyable. Hopefull Izzo and the basketball team can make another deep run into the tournament. I also love hating Michigan and everything in Ann Arbor even though it is where I was born. GO GREEN!
The best think about Michigan State University is the community in East Lansing and surrounding it. I think that we have such a great opportunity to go to school in a town that is essentially built around MSU. Everywhere you go you share a sense of pride with those around you. I also think that the surrounding Lansing is an amazing place filled with tons of fun things to do. There is a big city right outside our smaller town, it's the best of both worlds.
I like MSU’s winter. Actually, I like driving in the snow on campus. When everything turns white and everything is so quiet, even if it’s cold I still like the feeling. However, I have to dig out my car every morning during the snow days.
The thing that i like most about MSU is the oppurtunities. I am looking to go into broadcasting and during my 2 and a half years at MSU I have already had the oppurtunity to announce on national television on the Big Ten Network as well as announce the home opener for michigan State basketball. That is something many people will never get the chance to do! Michigan State has made me feel like I am the man! I also like the basketball team as well as the tailgating for MSU football games. Also there are so many beautiful girls at MSU. The campus is pretty nice too but, the downside is the city of East lansing. No joke, East lansing is one of the worst cities I've ever experienced in my life. Not much to do
The best thing about this campus has got to be the people. Everyone is all about MSU and we're going to make sure we back up anything that our university does. If it means we need to burn a few couches or throw large TVs out of windows after a huge win or a terrible loss that's just what we'll do. We have by far the best college basketball student section in the nation and one of the best teams out there. Our fans will do anything to help our team get a win. On top of being great fans and all of that we also have the best looking people of any university and that is a fact.
There is so much that I love about MSU, my sorority, the beautiful campus, our football team, the social scene, and the community of the Spartan family. As a transfer student I never seem to stop finding great things about MSU. The community college I transfered from had terrible administration, I never got a straight or knowledgeable answer about anything in the two years I went there. At MSU all my questions are answered and I can always find someone who knows more than me and can guide me along.
Out of all the things I love about MSU I think the best part is the notaritity that comes with being a Spartan. When I travel, even when I go to the U.P. or out of state, everybody knows about MSU. It makes me really proud that I got accepted to and am a part of such a great school. And who doesn't love being able to yell at any location at any time of day "go green!" and getting the inveitable "go white!" response...I know I do!
This may sound corny, but I love the vibe here at Michigan State. Despite the awkward winter weather and slushy conditions everyone still seems to be staying positive. Walking around campus and looking at all the old buildings and history contribute to that too, it creates a concrete sense of home, like MSU has been around for so long and it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. When touring campuses a few years ago and trying to decide which school to go to, it was the scenic views and active student body that sold me. There were people everywhere taking advantage of this great campus and it made me want to be one of them. You can really tell how much people appreciate MSU’s campus, and all of this together, makes me proud to be a Spartan!
My favorite thing about MSU is the campus itself. It's beautiful in the fall and the river is a great place to sit with your thoughts. I also love the older buildings on campus, they make me feel like I'm a part of the History of MSU.
My favorite thing about Michigan State University is the social culture. Spartans are very sociable, helpful people (or at least in my experience they have been). I never could have predicted the amount of people I would meet in college. To be honest, I assumed I would cling to my high school friends who also decided to attend MSU. While this is partly true, because I've held onto these friendships, I've had the opportunity to meet so many more. I admittedly owe this to my experience in greek life. While our greek life is small compared to our student body, we're a pretty tight knit group that reaches outside of the fraternity and sorority houses. These days, I find I know at least one person even in the tiniest of classrooms, which is such a relief. At the end of the day though, its not how many friends but who. We all rely on each other, because we're spartans.
My favorite thing about Michigan State University is the atmosphere of campus. Everybody that goes to MSU bleeds green and white and is a big family. The football games are the best times in the fall semester and I love the activites that happen when it is nice outside. I love being able to walk around campus when it is nice and be able to join a bunch of different games such as pick-up basketball, ultimate frisbee, soccer....etc. Everyone allows strangers to join in for the sake of the game and that we all go to MSU.
My favorite things about MSU are the great people I have met and opportunities that have come to me. I am a part of several great organizations I know are preparing me for my future. I have also been able to form great friendships and relationships with so many people. I really enjoy the campus and atmosphere here as well! East Lansing is a beautiful place to live with endless opportunities.
My favorite thing about MSU would be the organziations I'm involved in. I especially enjoy the advertising club I'm in; it's a lot of fun to be able to get to know and work with other advertising majors and I know my experiences in this club will be of great benefit to me when I start my career. I also love walking around campus, especially west circle because the buildings are so beautiful.
My favorite part about MSU is the community I live in. I have spent the past three years living and working in West Circle. It has been the experience of a lifetime. I took on the role of Event Planner and Social Media Correspondent a while ago, and it has been great to be able to live in a community I am actively helping to build. Organizing events that are for 10 people or 1,000 people are all so rewarding. I am thankful to have had this opportunity to help mold a wonderful community that has given so much back to me.
For me, Michigan State University is really a beautiful place to study. When the first time I saw the campus, I was surprised its huge area and full of green. This is kind of bias, I think, but the university is the place where people gather; therefore, I felt that it should be urbanized. Now, studying in Michigan State University, I changed my mind that the university with full of green is such a great place to study(then, MSU is urbanuzed also). Not only the surroundings but also the staffs in MSU are familiar with students and help a lot. I just want to say that Michigan State University is open to everyone who want to study relaxing, and feel season.
My favorite part about MSU is their Alumni. Spartans are everywhere. I have job shadowed, had internships and interviews with Spartan alumni and they are always trying to help a fellow Spartan out. It is amazing at just by being a Spartan how far that can get you and how many connections you can make.
To me, Michigan State is a home away from home. I have become so close with everyone here and truly grown to create my only Spartan family. People here are always in good sprirts and as long as you are a spartan, you are liked. Because I am a part of Greek life, I feel that I have grown even closer to the people that are in my house, and my friends in other houses. I have a family in KD, greek life family and my spartan family that I get to share everything with and create memories that will really last a lifetime (although cliche, it's true). I get to share all the joys of MSU, from tailgates, to wins and the beauty of the campus. I would never want to spend my time at MSU any other way and everyone that surrounds me makes my day brighter each and every day.
My favorite part about MSU is being a Spartan. Spartans have such a huge connection circle and really stick together. Being here we are apart of something bigger than anyone can see. As a Spartan you have a reputation not only in Michigan but throughout the country. Through sports and academics we turn heads no matter what we are doing.
As a transfer student (from Indiana University), I've been able to experience MSU in a different light than most other students. I'm from Michigan (Beverly Hills/Birmingham) but went to IU out of state. During the summer after my sophomore year, my parents dropped a bomb on me, telling me we were no longer financially able to continue sending me to IU and that I'd have to transfer back in-state. MSU was the easy choice as far as the school to transfer to - they had my preferred major (advertising), my best friend went here, and there was a strong chapter of my fraternity (Sigma Pi). I was able to continue my internship at Team Detroit into the fall, and got into MSU for the Spring 2012 semester. I got to move right into the fraternity house and was able to dive right in to MSU's Greek system. I like to say that I made as many friends in one year at MSU than I did in two years at IU. It all came to a head this October, when I was voted the sweetheart of Gamma Phi Beta, ten months after stepping on campus and being able to count close friends on this campus on one hand. That's not to downplay the significance of my Sigma Pi brothers, who I would probably prefer over my Sigma Pi brothers at IU at this point, but the fact that I was able to make friends with so many of those girls in such a short period of time is a testament to the Greek community and the friendliness of the campus as a whole.
Though there are many things that IU does better than MSU (such as the plethora of online resources) and things that MSU does better than IU (such as the multitude of career fairs), the thing that has stuck out to me the most has been the students.
There is nothing better than a home football game in the fall - tailgating on the most beautiful campus with the best alumni and watching MSU dominate? How can you not bleed green?! I also grew up a spartan and loved to watchthe msu basketball team. I currently am involved in varsity sports here on on campus which is a huge honor coming from a big ten school. Michigan state is the best place to attend colege and way better than the school in ann arbor. Go Green Go White
There are lots of things I LOVE about Michigan State. First off 3 out of 4 grandparents and most my aunts and uncles went here so it's been in my blood for a while. The size of the campus drew me in in a pretty big way. I personally think it's the most beautiful campus when I'm walking around in the wintertime when all the trees are covered in snow, there's not much that can beat it.
Secondly I love the sports here, growing up a big 10 fan has really shown me what true love for the game is. This is a perfect school to show our dedication. Lastly the advertising program at MSU is one of the best in the country, it's what I'm hoping to get me far in my career.
It's hard to narrow down my top reasons for loving MSU. 1.) I grew up in East Lansing so I've been a die hard Spartan fan since I can remember and I have a lot of friends that are still in town. 2.) We are the best BIG10 school in the state. (best looking students) 3.) our campus is beautiful. 4) Dublin Square and Rick's American Cafe. 5.) it doesnt get much better than Tom Izzo.
Personally, there are so many reasons why I love Michigan State University (MSU) and East Lansing as well; however, the top three reasons are (1) MSU provides me with a lot of great classes, especially Advertising/PR related courses (2) the living environment in East Lansing is so peaceful and entertaining, and lastly (3) all the people I have met both on- and off-campus are so kind and generous. I am a SPARTAN and always will be! Go Green!!
There are so many great things about Michigan States, its impossible to just pick one. As a third generation Spartan, Michigan State was the only university I have ever wanted to attend. One of my favorite things about Michigan State is the friend’s I have made over the past four years. I know I will continue to be friends with many of them for years to come. You cannot beat the fall in East Lansing; it is absolutely gorgeous. Football games and tailgating are one the greatest things about Michigan State, you just can’t beat a football Saturday. Another one of the greatest things about Michigan State is where ever you end up in the future you’re bound to meet MSU alumni or fan. Go Green!
I have been MSU for 3 years, one of my favorite things is the scenery of campus in the autumn. Just imaging the red leaves fall to the ground, covered with a thick layer of leaves, it just makes me feel pleasant and very relax. I am also pround of being Spartan families, I remerber I was lived in Brody Hall at the first year and everyone were so friendly, whenever I have some difficult times, they were always willing to help me out. I even received a small birthday gift in my mailbox on my birthday, that made me feel very intimate. I LOVE MSU!!
Like many have said it’s hard to pick one thing about Michigan State because there really are so many. For me there is something about the atmosphere at MSU and the friends I have made here. I have met some of my best friends these past four years and MSU wouldn't be the same without them. Obviously I love football season, tailgating and enjoying Michigan States beautiful campus. I also really love the bond you have with anyone who ever went to MSU; no matter where you are in the world if you went to MSU and wear a sweatshirt or shirt that says MSU someone is bound to yell out “GO GREEN”. I think it is an awesome environment to go to school in and I am very blessed to have spent some of the best years of my life here.
There are many things I like about Michigan State University so it is hard to just name one. Being a huge sports fan, it is fun to cheer on our competitive teams that belong in one of the most powerful athletic conferences in the nation. It makes waking up at 7 AM on a Saturday morning in the fall easy and fun. It is definitely an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Also, I like the great people that I have met here and it's a wonderful place to network. The big campus and atmosphere is what I was looking for when I applied to MSU and decided to attend and it has provided exactly what I wanted.
The only thing I would change was the cold weather in the winter months, which really makes the long walks to class and anywhere else on campus brutal. Other than that though, East Lansing is a really great place to be for a college student. I have had a lot of fun and don't regret my choice at all.
MSU is so important to me because it almost guarantees that I will get a good education and find a job as long as I do my part and put in the effort. The football season is my favorite part of the year! Tailgating, warm weather, and a great football team makes the first semester amazing. A lot of my friends from high school go here so that has helped a lot, they had to show me around since I transferred here my Junior year. I been on the club volleyball team the past two years and have loved every second of it. I have made so many friends through this organization and still get to play the sport I love the most. Without this team, I don't think I would have met as many great people as I have. The campus is beautiful in every season! I would have to say the Red Cedar looks beautiful all year round but in the fall is my favorite.
I cannot imagine attending another university instead of MSU. I love going to a school which is so easily recognized and known around the world. It is amazing to say I am attending a school which has produced so many other people who have changed the world in one way or another. MSU provides us with so many things to be proud of and greatful for. It is absolutely beautiful and has given me countless opportunities. I have also made some of my best friends in my sorority while I have been here and I can't imagine making these types of friendships anywhere else.
Michigan state has everything I could have ever wanted at my college plus so much more. Between the sports, the night life, the scenery, and the opportunities, I know that I made the right choice by coming here.
Like you said in your post, Michigan State has a lot of aspects that make it such a wonderful campus; it's hard to pick the main reason we all love it here. I am a junior at MSU but actually just came here last year. I went to Central Michigan University all of my freshman year and basically hated life, so I could point out 152 things why MSU is better. But after having that first year experience it is a lot easier to tell you why I like MSU so much. Besides being able to get a great education here MSU has a phenomenal atmosphere that draws you into being a Spartan. Being at CMU my first year this was something my college experience was seriously lacking, yes we had all the D1 sports teams but the excitement of football games wore off before most made it into the stadium, and basketball games.... well, they weren't exactly the Izone to say the least. Along with the 'excitement' of sporting events the CMU campus, and overall Mt. Pleasant in general I found to be, just not so pleasant. However, every time I visited MSU I got to see a campus that lit up! There is nothing like Michigan State campus in the fall on game days, I absolutely love basketball season and the excitement of the Breslin and the fact that all of our sports give us something to be proud of when they play is huge to me. Along with sports being Greek is a big part of campus life and yet another thing to be involved in, which I have also taken advantage of. It's the small things like being able to walk through campus and always see people out and about playing soccer, throwing a football, studying on the lawn or just goofing off that give MSU this overall atmosphere I was looking for. Little secret, I grew up a Notre Dame fan my whole life until coming here, but as soon as I experienced this campus I had never wanted to be a Spartan so bad! Go Green!
There are so many things I love about Michigan State. I love football Saturdays, the Brody caf, the fact that this is the place I met my best friends and had some of the greatest learning experiences. I love the study abroad program and that I got to travel to Italy and the French Riviera through MSU. I love the "go green" "go white" exchange I hear everywhere from Florida to Arizona. I love the passion that alumni feel for the University and that they continue to give back not just with donations of money, but with donations of time and their willingness to talk to you, simply because you're a Spartan. I love that there are Spartans all over the world. I love that Spartan Nation isn't just East Lansing, it's everywhere you go. The athletic programs are great, so are the classes, but nothing beats the connection that you share with over 500,000 all around the world.
Working at the MSU Alumni Association I have had the opportunity to meet many Spartan alumni, and what blows my mind is they just want to hear about me, what I'm doing, what other students are doing, what campus is like.
For those of you who haven't read Scott Westerman's Monday Motivator for this week, check it out! It's perfect for this topic.
I love MSU for many many reasons. First, my father and aunt went here, so I have a lot of history with this school which is really cool to me. I also really love the beautiful campus. I love how MSU is so big, even in the winter when i'm talking through the snow to class. It's beautiful in the spring and fall, and even in the winter. The leaves, the Red Cedar, the rock, everything! All of it makes MSU a really special place.
Of course I also love the sports! I absolutely love football season and sitting in the student section at Spartan Stadium. It's definitely a crazy time and I couldn't love it any more. Obviously i love the basketball team and the Izzone. Being in the izzone is really an awesome and crazy time. The cheers, people, and the game is so fun for me.
GO GREEN
Michigan State University is such an important place to me because I was born and raised with Spartan blood. My mom, older brother, and two of my aunts all went to MSU. My step dad works on campus and the MSU fire department and my mom teaches at MSU. I was surrounded by MSU growing up and I dreamed about going to MSU. My dream came true and it's been a blessing and a blast! My favorite part about MSU is definitely campus. I love mostly everything on campus and I think the best part about campus for me is the comfort aspect. I feel comfortable everywhere. Secondly I have made some amazing friends and memories throughout my four years at MSU. The memories are in certain parts of campus or East Lansing that I'll remember forever. Also, green and white go so well together!! I LOVE Spartan spirit and color! GO GREEN!
I really believe Michigan State University is one of the best places in the entire state to be. I am a junior this year and each day I still notice something different about campus. I love football and basketball games and am so glad I get one more year of them. You also meet a ton of people at a big campus like this and can always find someone who shares in your interests. My grandpa was a professor here for 40 years and even though my dad went to Michigan, I knew I would go to State. The nightlife in East Lansing is also a lot of fun and I can’t imagine a better place to be on a Friday night. Sure the Wells Hall Preacher can be a jerk but it is always fun to yell stuff back at him and yeah, there is always the possibility of having a 30 minute walk from one class to another but with a campus this nice I don’t mind a little walking.
To me, the favorite things about Michigan State University is a great scene, great education, and great opportunites to watch great collge sports games. The first time that I came to Michigan State University was Fall 2008 as a freshsman. I was not familiar with the life at East Lansing, which were really quiet than Portland, Oregon, where I have attended my high school there. Then I have took 2 years off for serving military services in South Korea, and started to missing Michigan State University. I used to dreamed about myself just standing the center of CATA station doing nothing at all. It seems funny now, but I thought it was a kind of homesickness that I was one of the spartan families. After I dismissed from my services I came back to Michigan in hurry and started to attend MSU, and until now I really enjoys great scenes of Michigan State University that harmony's with the nature. I like the way how professors are teaching us, and how we receive a great educations in such a great campus in the United States. Also I really love to watch Spartan sports games. I have not attended every games, but I have watched a lot of games on the television in my home. Spartan sports made me to connect the xinfinity at my home! Throughout my expereiences at Michigan State University, I think I am really enjoying to study at MSU, and I am really excited about watching big matches tomorrow between Spartans vs Wolverine men's basketball tomorrow.
GO GREEN!
Michigan State University is definitely an amazing place to be. First, I love the diverse environment here. As an international student, I had the difficulties in adapting to another culture. There are a lot of Chinese students here to help me get through the first three months. And the number of international students of Michigan State University is very large. The diverse environment lets me know all kinds of people and learn different things. Second, I love the beautiful scenery of the university. When fall comes, all the trees on campus will turn red and yellow, which makes the whole campus so colorful and beautiful. The beauty of nature and campus makes me love MSU more. Last, Wharton Center is a place that I love to go. There are plenty of shows playing all year around, especially Broadway shows. Since I came to MSU, I have watched several famous shows including Jersey Boys, Wicked, War Horse, etc. The tickets are cheap for students and I love most of them. It's a good place for me to enjoy the beauty of music and arts.
There are so many things that I love about Michigan State. I am a fourth generation Spartan, so I always new that this was where I was going to attend college. I didn’t understand Michigan States full potential as a university and as a campus until I started my freshman year. Over the years I have loved attending all of the football games, and am sad that this was my last year to do so. Tailgating with friends and family before the game was a great way to spend time together and share the team spirit campus wide. I also love the great friends that I have met here that I know will last a lifetime. My group of friends all met freshman year when we lived in Butterfield together. None of us had known each other before yet we instantly hit it off, and have continued to grow together through out the years. Even though Michigan State is a great academic school, what Michigan State has to offer besides the classes is really why I love this campus so much.
Michigan State University is an absolute amazing place to attend college. As a senior, I have learned the ins and outs of the campus when it comes to academics, nightlife, and everyday things like the best places to eat. It is truly amazing that every other day I learn something new about the constantly changing environment that MSU holds. This is one of the things I just love about MSU. It is a constantly changing campus which provides and maintains a certain level of energy among the community of MSU.
I also love the sense of comradary among the students. Even though the campus has over 40,000 students, you still feel a connection, or a bond if you will, with everyone. For me, it was is so easy to find a sense of belonging here. This sense of comradary further flows over into all sporting events that MSU holds. There is NOTHING that compares to Spartan Pride.
It is such a bittersweet feeling that I will be graduating in May and leaving East Lansing. The past 4 years at MSU will be irreplaceable, because of the comradary among the students that is so rare, the beautiful campus, and the constant energy of the community.
Being an international student at Michigan State University is an amazing experience, so there are so many things I love and appreciate about the campus, academic programs, and the university as a whole. I originally came to MSU because they have the no.1 veterinary school in the country, but when I switched my major I was equally content to find their advertising program ranked as no. 2 in the country. I think the one thing that makes me love MSU is the one thing I never experienced in my native country; school pride. From the football game rituals to the basketball traditions, from the fight song to talking a picture with Sparty, and from students, to faculty, to alumni, this university has added so much family value to anything and everything they do.
I absolutely love being part of the Spartan family, especially because my real family is so far away, and proudly wear the colors and logo. I have been buying my family MSU gear since I was a freshman, because I want them to be as proud as I am of this amazing school. Yes, parking is horrible, some buildings are outdated, cafeteria food isn’t amazing, etc. but there is an incredible trade off with how diverse the university is, how student oriented it is, and how much effort they put forth in making a student’s four year experience the best possible one. And there is always a tiny sting that tugs at my heart when I find a fellow Spartan out of Michigan and they yell “Go Green” when they see me pass by with an MSU sweatshirt. It something like that, so simple and so unique, that makes me feel so warm and proud about State.
Our university gives us a strong sense of belonging. “Spartan”, “Sparty” or “Go green, go white” are all great ways to unite us together. I also heard that our university would put chocolate bars in students’ mailboxes during their birthday. What’s more, the careers center in our university is really great. They are good at giving advices towards the resume, cover letters and even LinkedIn. They also provide wonderful resources of workshops, internship opportunities and career fairs, which are helpful to my future career. In addition, the football events and the Broadway shows in Wharton Center are all world-class experiences. Last but not the least, as an advertising major students, I really like the study abroad programs in our school, which provide us an opportunity to learn different cultures and to learn the skill of how to do the cross-culture advertisings.
When it was time to start deciding where I wanted to go to college MSU was always one of my options. At the time, I didn't want to live in the dorms my freshman year so I decided to go to LCC instead and live at home for a year and a half. Now in my last year of college I look back and wish I would have lived in the dorms and met more people and got to experience living on campus. Once I got to MSU I absolutely loved it. I didn't feel like I was in high school still like I did when I was going to LCC. The campus is beautiful and really not as large once you get acquainted and figure out your way around campus. There's always something going on and always clubs or activities to attend.
As an international student I had a wide range of universities to choose from. Howeber, Michigan State University(MSU) stood out for me. It had both the majors that I was interested in and a great track and field program. It is hard to find all three in one. Although the reasons I have attened MSU are no longer the same reasons I am still here I found my experiece at MSU to be a life changeing experience.
During the Fall I enjoy going to every home foot ball game and beinig apart of the festivities with friends. MSU has much to offer in watching sporting events, joining and participating in teams such as the track team, watching broadway shows at the Wharton center, and the list keeps going. Even the simplicity of being on campus going to class and being around many innovative students.
Coming from acountry where it does not snow it was and still is difficult adjusting to the cold wheather but to watch the leaves and flowers change colors through seasons is magnificent. Michigan State University has much to offer from education, entertainment, athletics, and scenery.
When I was first deciding my options of where to attend college, I only had a few in mind. I always wanted to attend the University of Michigan because I love Ann Arbor; Michigan State was always the second option. I thought it would be too big and that I would hate not being in a busy city atmosphere. However, when I toured both schools, the vibes I got were totally unexpected. I felt right at home when I toured MSU. After being settled in here, it really is not as big as it seems. I love the Big Ten and attending football and basketball games. The enthusiasm the students have here is awesome. I like that I still run into people everyday, despite the high number of undergraduates. As an advertising major, it is nice to meet new people in classes and become a family that help each other out. What I love the most about Michigan State is that its residents are almost all students, whereas people living in Ann Arbor might not necessarly attend U of M. It gives the exact college vibe I was hoping for.
One thing I love about Michigan State University is its beautiful campus. It is so huge and so green. I love it especially during the spring time when you can study outside on the grass. There are so many outside space where you and a whole group of friends can play fun sports such as ultimate frisbee and football. Even in the winter time, there are a lot of things that can be done outside. Examples include walking on the Red Cedar River when it is frozen or having a huge snowball fight. The atmosphere here is laid back and relaxing.
MSU is just an awesome school in general. I'm no big sports person, but I love that we dominate. I'm no eduction, business or engineering major but I love that we are the top in the COUNTRY in those areas. There's plenty of reasons why I love MSU but I think my favorite reason is because of the culture here. EVERYONE is friendly, inviting and generous. Despite us all being extremely successful, students here are not overly competitive and rude to others. Which is way more than I can say for at least that maize and blue school. I just appreciate how everyone is so willing to lift as they climb and give back to others. It's my favorite part about my amazing school.
