Chris Tatti (Digital Public Relations) Keep Steroids Out of Tee-Ball
I chose to make a Facebook community addressing the
fictional use of steroids in tee-ball. You said to get creative so I did just that with a
funny twist, it made the assignment a little bit more enjoyable, and
hopefully you can understand the humor in it. My fictional community is
basically an advocate for parents and lovers of the game can visit to get the
latest news and information about steroids and how their affecting tee-ball.
As
the communicator on the page I would address positive comments in an unbiased
way that would appeal to both side of an argument sort of the way Stephen A.
Smith and Skip Bayless choose to agree and disagree on their issues on their ESPN show.
For negative comments I will agree with where they are coming from but
hopefully have enough credible sources to prove the theory wrong. I know there
will be people who say, "No child in tee-ball is using drugs to enhance
performance", but I will use appropriate and factual evidence from the USADA
(United States Anti-Doping Agency) and recent tee-ball statistics that make my
claims and posts factual. If the media would like to follow up on my page they
can look into other local articles on how the tee-ball system is flawed and
needs to be regulated to keep the game at the high standard they want for all
players and fans alike. They media can also go sit in on a tee-ball and see the
power of these young players and view for themselves that something just isn’t
right in the game of tee-ball. It seems now-a-days these kids are hitting
further and running faster than some adults that play sports.
Our pitch to the
media is simple and speaks out to try and gain a following, here is our pitch “For
every 5 kids that choose to stay in peak condition drinking Sunny D and eating
PB&J sandwiches there is always 1 trying to take the easy road by using
performance enhancing drugs. Help us build a voice to keep steroids out of the
beautiful game that is tee-ball”. I plan to keep updating and responding to my
users to grow my Facebook page following and user engagement like it an example from the Cole/Facebook Textbook “10
Ways to Grow Your Facebook Page Following”.
