Why Aren't You Blogging Yet?
If you haven’t figured it out just yet, the importance of blogging, especially in public relations, is key. In order to really understand the business it’s important to explore all forms of media. Between web design and blogging, the Internet is a PR’s oyster. It allows a potential client or business to pinpoint and decipher what they’re looking for. It also gives the blogger/web designer a chance to expose exactly what they want.
Blogging. How Beneficial is it?
According to The New Rules of Marketing and PR, blogging has allowed specific bloggers to accomplish their goals, when using their tools effectively. A blog allows a writer to receive instant and honest feedback (Scott, 57). A significant number of people are blogging for marketing purposes, leading them to a tremendous amount of success. Everyone loves interesting experiences (Scott, 69). It keeps the readers on their toes. A good blog opens up a large amount of opportunities:
- Meeting with a CEO/other executives
- Given information about new product releases
- Invited to attend exclusive events
If you’re successful with what you’re writing about, then bigger audiences will begin to catch on. When that happens a company’s credibility may be at stake, leaving you an opportunity with the upper hand.
Can Web Design take a Blogger to the Next Level?
The words plain, vanilla, generic, and average all have one thing in common. They’re all boring. If the design of your web page is boring then the success rate of your blog will be little to none. Colors are more powerful than one may think (Cole and Mehraban, 234):
- Beautiful bright reds and cool blues illuminate the most popular brand names on the web
An audience thrives off of first impressions. If they don’t like what they’re looking at then they’ll move on the next blog. You want your web page to be pleasing to the eye, as well as creating a delightful image of your brand.
If a client is in-between buyers, a well put together blog page or website could be the deciding factor. It’s all about how you make it your own. A product is only as good as its reputation.
