Lowering The Cost Of Living In East Lansing

The cost of living in East Lansing is becoming more and more expensive each and every year.  This is extremely frustrating for a college student who is already pilling up debt from tuition and books each year.  It is getting to the point where were paying more for a month then my parents are at their place.  The landlords can drive up the price because there is one major company who owns 80 percent of the housing and apartments around the city.  It is easy for them to control the market without any real competition. 

Responses to Positive and Negative Comments Directed at My Cause:

Positive:

• The people who would like my page are pretty much every college student at Michigan State and especially the parents of the students as well.
• Comment example: I completely agree and support your cause for lowering the cost of living and we should do something to prevent them from getting to high in the future.

Negative:

• I know the people who would oppose my page would be the people who own or work for the housing companies in East Lansing.
• Comment Example: This is our job and its how we make our money to keep the houses and apartments up to date, and how we make the money to pay our employees and maintenance guys to work.

Media and Social Media Information For the Cause

Some questions from the media might be, how do you expect to change this problem? How are you going to get people more aware of this increasing problem? What caused you to want to change this problem? Another thing I would do to spread the word of my cause is pitch my page to bloggers.  I would simply explain to them the situations I have had with these housing companies and how it has affected me and how they are taking advantage of college students at MSU.
