I'm finally a blogger!
I've wanted to start a blog for as long as I can remember, but I've always been nervous about it. I feel like nobody will read it and I'll just be writing for no reason. I'm happy that this class is forcing me to break out of my shell and create my own blog, because I know that it is a beneficial skill for me to have.
I have decided to dedicate my blog to my journey with Anorexia and how I got to where I am today. When I was going through treatment, I found bloggers who had gone through the same thing and looked to their posts for emotional support. I didn't have anyone to talk to who had actually been through what I was going through and understand, so it was nice to be able to read experiences from others who actually did. I hope that my blog can do the same thing. I want to make a difference and help others who are suffering from an eating disorder in the same way that the bloggers I found helped me.
I know that this blog will help me because the knowledge of navigating a popular blogging site like Wordpress is necessary. I've ran into a few issues as I've been creating my blog this week, but nothing that watching a few Youtube videos and reading some help forums can't help. Having a client-ready blog to show future employers will be helpful because I'll have more personal work to provide. Sure, I have tons of writing samples from internships ranging from news releases, advisories, social media and speeches I've written for clients, but this is more of a personal example of what I can provide.
