The Social Media Profiles of Elyse Walter

I had developed quite a few social media profiles prior to joining the New Media Driver's License course, but our most recent assignment of ensuring these profiles are complete and used to their full advantage is important to keeping me on track and guiding me toward success.

Facebook profile screenshotOf all of the social media outlets, I've been using Facebook the longest (although not nearly as long as someone my age should have). What started as an opportunity to engage with old friends and far-away family has been parlayed into opportunities to develop Pages for my employer and engage in professional opportunities. I try to remain as professional as possible via my Facebook profile and am conscious of the content I post about myself and what others post about me.

ITwitter profile've also been engaged on Twitter for quite some time, but utilize this social media outlet in a mostly professional capacity. I enjoy using this outlet to catch up on news and current events in real time and monitoring announcements via the field I work in. I'm constantly looking for more individuals and organizations to follow in the hopes that my follower total will increase. You can follow me through @walterej!

LinkedIn ProfileI created a LinkedIn profile quite some time ago in order to be better prepared professionally for the future. I've found it is a great outlet to connect with colleagues, partners, friends, and potential employers. LinkedIn provides a quick, electronic snapshot of who you are as a professional and individual and is great for showcasing the skills and experience you can offer.

Prior to the New Media Driver's License class I didn't have a Google Profile. But considering how critical Search Engine Optimization has become, I can see the value in creating a personal Google Profile that can help me be more easily found online. My profile can be found here: https://profiles.google.com/107556507488670623953#107556507488670623953/about.

I look forward to monitoring my social media profiles and seeing what kind of assistance they provide in a personal and professional capacity in the future.
