Optimizing pre-professional blog The High-Heeled Life

I chose five words to try to optimize my new posts and future posts around:

  • Pre-professionals
  • professional development
  • network
  • public relations
  • prssa

I then went to blogs that I know include my target audience - because I am my target audience and I follow these blogs:

Small Town Girl Big City Dreams
GVSU PRSSA Regional Conference Blog
The View from Up Here
(Student-run PR firm) Hubbell Connections
NY PR Gals

I picked posts that had to do with mine (like the Stuff PR Students Say post in Grand Valley's blog) and told them what I liked about their post, and why they should go see mine.

Note that I used PRSSA and PR.

Allie Lacey wrote a post about a networking event I attended. I commented on her blog post directing her to mine:

I mentioned PRSSA, PR, networking, and professional development. All of these I use in my blog posts.

(Pre-professionals)

I used terms pre-professionals and public realtions to direct viewers of NYC PR Gals to my blog. It's on their post about working at New York Fasion WEek. Looking back, this comment could have been improved upon. I could have interacted with the post more and told more about what my blog is - so it looked less like spam. I did like that I used the FB page for my blog though.

I think that commenting on related blogs is really great to optimize my blog. I become more conscientious of the terms I use in my posts, therefore making it more searchable. I am excited to see how my views increase this week!
