Developing my blog and sharing it with friends

For this week's blog post I decided to write a post about a new fashion trend for this fall season. I took advice from the readings and also from some sources online. The main thing I tried to accomplish with my blog post was aesthetic appeal as well as a call-to-action approach. My blog is aimed toward those people who are looking for fashion-forward advice and inspiration. I did not want to write a lot in my post. I know that when I visit a blog, I do not want to spend my time reading a bunch of paragraphs about a topic. I would much rather see visuals through pictures or video, and read the captions if I would like some type of description. It is only after I read these descriptions that I decide to either dig deeper or to move on. If I am interested in a topic, I will then proceed to read the paragraphs, but only after my interest has been sparked by some type of visual content. I tried to take this approach with my blog by incorporating many pictures and examples. I feel that this approach will be best at initially grasping the attention of my blog visitors and subscribers.

I also incorporated sharing links at the end of my blogs posts so that visitors and subscribers can share my post through other social media forms. This is a great way to increase the awareness of my blog to others and also broaden my audience reach to not only my network of family, friends, and coworkers, but to others' networks as well. Using social media is an efficient way to self promote my blog. I shared a link to my new blog post on Twitter to help gain more of a following for my blog. I also posted my blog on my Facebook page and included my blog page in my Linkedin page to connect with my coworkers.
