New Media Training and Education is more important than ever. At Michigan State University we have the New Media Drivers License course, and this semester students are in for a real treat.
In addition to the David Meerman Scott text book - The New Rules of Marketing & PR: How to Use Social Media, Online Video, Mobile Applications, Blogs, News Releases, and Viral Marketing to Reach Buyers Directly that students will be required to read, we have a new text book from Richard Cole and Derek Mehraban - New Media Driver's License: Using Social Media for More Productive Business and Marketing Communications.
You can order the book on RacomBooks web site or you can order from Amazon. This semester the New Media Drivers License course is stepping up the game on new media training. See you in class in 2012!

I heard that publishing all the names of each NMDL student in the back of the book could possibly be a FERPA violation. I don't know anything about FERPA but it does not seem to be any kind of violation in my opinion. It just gives some more credibility to the students and to the course. We should be proud to get our names published. I could see how there could be a problem if the grades were shown, but that is obviously not the case. I hope my name goes into an edition of this book before the FERPA police get involved.
This textbook has help me a lot throughout this class! Thank you so much for providing this awesome resource about social media, blogging, and everything else that goes with it!
