I see some of your are spending the summer in far away places like China. That is super cool. I've been spending my summer teaching and driving my girls to swim practice. We will head to Park City for a week so that should be a nice break.
Remember our agency tour is Tuesday, August 15 from 10 AM - 12 Noon at Doner in Southfield. Please be sure to email me and RSVP so I can give a full count to Doner.
So I have to ask - what's the coolest place you went this summer? Could be a concert, camping trip, or exotic vacation. Where'd you go? Peace out. Go Green.

The coolest place I went this summer was either Arizona or a trip up north. I went to Arizona with my family the day after my last final so it was a great way to celebrate the end of the semester. My grandparents live there so we've been there almost every year growing up. While it was nothing new it was good to spend time with family and be back in Arizona. Towards the end of July, I was able to get away from work for a week to travel up north with my boyfriend's family which was a lot of fun. First, we went to Mackinaw City. Then we drove further up north to Munising to see Pictured Rocks. I've always wanted to go there so that was really cool to finally see. The UP is so beautiful that time of year! After a few days there we drove down to Traverse City and spent the last few days of the vacation relaxing on the beach and taking the boat out on the bay. Both vacations were really fun and relaxing. With finals coming up and the stress of the end of the semester, I could really use a vacation right now.
The coolest place that I went this past summer was probably the music feastival Electric Forest. This is probably an answer a lot of people are sick of hearing and those who haven't been probable think it is a lame answer. However, Elictric Forest is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, the music is awesome and the vibes are amazing, but my favorite part is 'Sherwood Forest.' This is simply a large section of woods that is decorated like crazy and has what seems like an infinate amount of structures, art, activities, things like a giant birds nest made of sticks and a 50 foot woman. I could spend the whole day just exploring and hanging out in the wonderland if it werent for the shows I'd be missing! Electric Forest is a must-go for all michiganders, even if you arent into EDM music you will still have a blast (I didn't know or like edm the first year I went and had a ton of fun), the shows are out of this world and the experience is unforgetable! The coolest place I went is called Shidu. It's not a cool place, it's just because I did the coolest thing in there. I went to do bungee jumping this summer. I am really afraid of height. So I want to challenge myself. It feel hard and suffering after I standed in front of the preparing zone. I thought a lot at that time about my past. I just love more about my life right now.
The coolest place I went to over summer was a music festival known as electric forest. It is a 4 day long music festival that has all different types of music, mainly revolving around EDM. It was a really cool experience for me and I got to meet so many interesting people. Really interesting environment to be a part of and I would highly reccommend it to anyone who has ever considered going.
I would have to say that the coolest place I went this summer was Keystone Colorado. (No pun intended.. okay maybe it was)
I love skiing and whenever I can go take a trip with my brother I am all for it. My bank account might not have been feeling too good after butI made some good memories. As we were leaving we were already talking about scheduling the next annual trip! Now the next thing I have on my calendar is the MSU Ski Club Colorado Trip!
Go Green,
Zack
The coolest place I went to this summer was Petoskey and Charlevoix. I got to visit my best friend that I'm rooming with next year! She worked at Boyne Highlands at the golf course and she even let me move some golf carts for her! Other than that we went to dinner downtown for a couple nights and went on beautiful walks. Another fun thing we did there was rent electric bikes that we rode into Charlevoix on. It was a pretty fun trip and I can't wait to go back!
The coolest place that I went to this summer was defintely Traverse City. I stayed in state all summer but I always enjoy everytime I get the chance to road trip up north. The goal is to get up there at least once a year since I have a lot of family and friends that have places there. We had dinner at a brewery one night in downtown Traverse which was awesome and we got to out on the boat on Lake MI. Overall the scenery up there is fantastic, the view of the water never gets old.
I think the coolest place I have ever been is Seattle. I've been to a lot of cities but there is something about being in the mountains, city, and by the water at the same time. I loved everything about the city. I went to vist my cousin for a few days last summer. Her apartment building was right across from the new Amazon dome. We explored all throughout the city and it was sunny the whole time!
There are many different parts of the city that have unique vibes. There is lots of green space for being in the city and the views are breathtaking. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
I got a really cool vacation in May. Four of my friends and I went to California and we have a road trip on No.1 highway. It is a wonderful experience. We fly to San Francisco and rent a car to start our road trip. Monterey is our firt stop, which is a small fabletown. Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the most famous aquarium in U.S. And then we went to Carmel, which is a European style village. The architecture is romantic and attricative. Next stop would be 17 Miles Drive. It is a privately managed roadway on the coastline. The view is amazing. Next great place should be Solvang. It is a historic town with Danish style. Then we were heading to Los Angles. We find a lot of delicious food there. And the final stop is San Diego. We live in La Jolla and I love this city.
This is a unforgetable vacation, everything was perfect. If there is a chance in the future, I would like to go there again.
The coolest place I went to this summer was Washington D.C. to move my sister into her new house. I have been to D.C. multiple times in the past, but everytime I go I always have a great time exploring the city. Unfortunately, I had to drive all the way there instead of taking a flight because my family had to drag a UHaul for all my sister's crap that needed to be moved. So a would be one and a half hour flight turned into a two day 10-hour drive. But once we arrived and toured all the famous museums and the Capitol Building, it was all worth it.
The best part of my summer must be attending Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago. We went together as a squad with fellow spartan mates. There are lots of laughing, dancing, bonding throughout this three-day-festival. With awesome music and great friends, emotion goes up while the DJs playing fire tracks on stage. Time actually go by really fast when you are having fun and not worrying about the boring stuff. I saw my favourite artist playing live for the first time, Duke Dumont got the vine on a classy level as he usually do. Also some other big names like Martin Garrix, Marshmello throws down with their stunning music. It was the best weekend I spent whole summer and looking forward to attend lolla next summer!
Definitely the highlights of my summer were the concerts I saw. I had the chance to see the Dead & Co. three times in the pit, once in Atlanta and then both nights at their Wrigley field weekend run. I know you're a big deadhead so I thought you might appreciate that. Hopefully they'll be back next summer, they still sound amazing and John Mayer has really given them new life.
I also got to see The Who, Elvis Costello, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Plus I still have Kings of Leon & UB40 tickets for August and September. Should be great, but probably wont compare to the Dead!
Hope you got to see some great live music too!
All my friends come back to china during summer, but I want to do the best for my intership. So I stay at the east lasing. Sometimes love here, sometimes are not. Because most of chinese restraunt are closed until August. So I just cook by myself or eat others food.I went to chicago to pick up my frients. And I went to toroto for three days.We drived to there, but I do not visit the waterfall this time. But I will go there again during August. I take my pet to have training class. I will go to cancun in few days. I am excited.I took five classes for my summer. It is a good challenge for me.
Unfortunately I spent most of the summer at home, but I did get to go to Indianapolis for a conference, so I guess that was the coolest place I went. Downtown Indianapolis is a fun place with lots going on, I wish I could have stayed a little longer and seen some sights.
My boyfriend and I (with our cat) drove to Los Angeles from Michigan at the beginning of this summer. This is the second time for such long time road trip, so that would make me hate road trip probably for a long term. I can't believe we just made it! Even we almost spent entire days on driving, the landscapes from the window are really amazing! We saw the snow mountains around the Colorado valley, enjoyed sunset above the wasteland in Arizona, and drove through the hottest daytime I ever experienced in Utah. What a wonderful trip (no matter how tortured driving is).
Over the summer is the time I work the most. I have spent my days coaching swim to kids ages 4-18. We have our championship swim meet this week!
I did get to take one vacation to visit my brother in Virginia. This was exciting because his girlfriend recently had a baby so I was able to meet my nephew for the first time. His name is Levi Anthony and he is the cutest baby I've ever seen. I may be bias because I was chosen to be his Godmother.
I look forward to the end of August because I am going Up North for my older sister's bachelorette party. My family is very busy this year.
This summer I decided to take a trip to Nashville, Tennessee for the second time this year. I had way too much fun the first time I went in early spring, so I decide to plan another trip down there! The live music is amazing and the people are so friendly and welcoming. Their food is phenomenal as well! I suggest trying the fried chicken, but everyone will tell you that! I also had the opportunity to go on my first real camping trip Up North in Tawas, MI. I’m not a huge camper, but the experience was awesome and it was so nice to stay right on Lake Huron! The majority of my summer has been taken up by online classes and being a nanny, but I’m glad I have found some time to take a couple trips away from home!
During this summer, I went to the California for 5 days before the second summer semester starts.
My family came to the United States from South Korea, and they celebrated my college graduation becuase this semester is my last student life.
There are many famous places to go in California. Among many places, I stayed in Los Angeles with my family. We went to La Jolla Beach, Hollywood, and San Diego to eat and taking pictures for our memory.
Moreover, our family also went to Wax Musium to see many famous people that made by wax.
While we are traveling Los Angeles, we also visit many famous restaurants near Los Angeles including In and Out Hamberger store.
The trip was a great experience to me, and I had really happy time with my family.
This summer, I have got the chance to go see the United States Men's National soccer team play Panama in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Nashville, Tennesse. When I lived in Texas, we always passed through Tennesse but I have never had the opportunity to take in the unique Southern culture in Nashville and Tennesse in general. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit the city, the landscape and different sections of the city make it a must see destination.
If you do go, make sure you walk around the two colleges that are right outside of downtown Nashville; Belmont University and Vanderbilt University. I believe both are private institutions, however, the unique environments that surround the areas are amazing. The urban renewal in the areas is something that cities like Detroit and other larger cities should model after.
A lot of what draws me to those places is the culture that the section wants to present. Tennesse is unique in their form of Southern hospitality and food and it is definitely showcased near Belmont. A great example is when my dad and I went to a recommended BBQ joint and the Vanderbilt basketball team was there, so around 15 guys or so. The place was packed at 9 PM and the team could have easily let two random people wait for the next table, but they let us join them and we ended up staying until 11 PM or so just talking about basketball and where they were from. That hospitality is something that makes me miss living in the South and what places like Michigan lack.
The coolest place I went to this summer was Silver Springs State Park in Florida. It has been the location of many films including Tarzan, James Bond, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. It is a collection of springs feeding into a lake. The water is bright blue and it is covered in lush greenery. We took a glass bottomed boat tour and were able to see an array of aquatic life such as bass, bluegills, alligators, and turtles, plus a native american canoe that allegedly dates back to the 1500s when they settled there. Before Disney and the other attractions in Orlando, Silver Springs was one of the main tourist attractions in Florida.
Have you been to any famous film locations?
