Do you see Microsoft's recent purchase of LinkedIn causing any large changes in the digital marketing and social media space as a whole?
This was Microsoft’s way to buy into the popular social space. Linkedin was doing quite well and really worked to boost traffic, interaction and revenue. I think Microsoft probably overpaid for them. I don’t use Linkedin as much as I used to. But I’m also not in the job market. I don’t think it will change much. Just give Microsoft access to all Linkedin users, and help them probably sell more Office products.
What is the best program to use when creating a website that is for a company that is just starting out and has little money? Should they use Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, etc?
I am a big Wordpress fan. But i know that Squarespace and Wix are easy to use platforms. It’s not too hard to learn how to host a Wordpress site, choose a template and build it out. Good exercise and will help you in the job market. Suggest trying that. Then you have a more custom site
As I was researching LuluLemon more this week, I found that they typically respond to their negative feedback on social media. Do you think it would be important to respond to both positive and negative comments? Is it that important for them to respond to comments in general? Do you think that they should hide negative comments and only keep positive comments?
Good for them responding to all comments. There are lots of jerks in the world. And they are gonna comment. Best to deal with it head on and address their concerns. Then they can calm down and go away. A good brand will not hide bad comments, but will work to improve on the feedback and work to win customers back over to their brand. Nobody and no brand is perfect.
I have learned that Fantelope uses sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to promote their brand. On the different social media sites they always post something different across the different platforms. All of Fantelope's posts deal with news and the Instagram is used more to show pictures that relate to the app such as sports or activities. Why don't some companies just post the same message across all social media sites and would there be a problem with that?
Different social networks work for different types of posts. And sometimes for example if a brand is at an event - posting photos to Instragram makes sense. When on a regular basis, it’s easier to post sports news, or articles on Facebook and Twitter. It really depends.
Do you have any experience with Social Relationship Platforms (such as Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Spredfast, etc.)? What are your favorites and why? What are the potential benefits/drawbacks of an enterprise level system used in a corporate or institutional setting?
Yes, Hootsuite is easy to use and low cost. Buffer is popular as it spaces out your social posts. Hubspot allows you to use all platforms through one interface, and it has nice tracking so you can see who clicked and came to your site. I encourage you to try and experiment. They all have some benefits.
Is it considered "wrong" for a company to post the same post on multiple social media platforms? If so, should this be avoided altogether or is it okay to do occasionally?
Each social platform has it’s own style, length of text, type of image or video. So you can have a similar post, but it’s good to customize it for the platform. For example a Pinterest post is way different than a Tweet.
Comments & Feedback
I don't think it's wrong to post the same post on multiple social media platforms. I think by sharing the same post on multiple social media platforms it shows that the brand has the same point over all media and has a united front on all media platforms.
When it comes to key metrics, what is the most efficient way to measure the resaults of inbound marketing?

Is this trend of buying likes or followers on social media adventageous for the brand or is it merely a show for ego?
HBO's products are their shows. This is what their audiences are looking for (unless its the movies they also host). Their shows also differ vastly in terms of content, does this mean they create multiple personas per show? Do they group show types and create personas then? Or do they create shows with similar ratings and have personas based off of the desire to target older, more mature audiences?
In the process of creating a buyer persona how can you figure out more about your customers and do companies make more than 1 buyer persona?

Even though Apple is a very successful brand, they stir away from marketing on social media and stick to more traditional advertising such as having a commerical on TV. Do you think that if they expanded their marketing strategy into social media full force it would be benifical to them and increase sales? Or do you think that it would stay pretty close to the same with them already being so known?

What are your thoughts on connecting on LinkedIn with professionals who you have no work relationship with? As I was updating and expanding my profile these past weeks I kept receiving invitations from people I've never talked to or worked with, or work in the same industry I'm hoping to work in. I know it's always great to build your network but I found it odd.
With LinkedIn being a site that is used to seek employment and internships is there a way to upload your resume to your page? If my resume isn't on my page what do you think future job recruters look at the most on your profile?
I updated my LinkedIn profile recently and have included everything that I have had experience with in the past. I even included a nice background image that will attract recruiters attention and tried the LinkedIn premium trial. I think spreading the message across multiple social media sites can draw more attention to the ad without necessarily being redundant. Some users prefer to get their information from Facebook while other prefer Twitter, furthermore, some people are vidual learners so something like a video is required.
