Everyone is talking about the social network Pinterest. What are you thoughts? My friend C.C. Chapman has a nice video that you can watch and comment. Do you use it? Would you recommend it to a client? How do you see companies using Pinterest in the future? Do you have any companies who are doing a great job now using Pinterest?

I LOVE Pinterest! I cannot get enough of it. As soon as I got my invite, (I still think its funny you have to get invited to the sight) I was "pinning" everything! I recently started adding my own pins to Pinterest but most of the time I just use what other people pin. I think it is defintly getting bigger, and more and more people are using it! I would definetly recommend it to a client of mine. I don't see many companies using it today but I could see it happen in the future. A lot of what is on Pinterest right now is fashion, food and weddings... it is a place where anyone can go to get a wuick idea or do it yoursef project. Advertising on Pinterest would be a great idea in my opinion. I use it as much as my Facebook and Twitter page, sometimes more. Pinterest is the new way of blogging and it definetly paved the way for me as a future blogger.
I personally cannot get enough of Pinterest. Although, I do not use it as much as I use Twitter or Facebook for one reason in particular, the mobile app. Pinterest's mobile app for iPhone is hard for me to interact with. The website provides multiple photos at a time so I can scan over ones I am not interested in and notice the ones I would like to repin, but the mobile site has bigger pictures that make me do a ton of scrolling and reading. When the app does not have the big pictures it has multiple pictures but they are thumbnail size so I can not recognize features of them that I would be interested in. Therefore, my use of Pinterest is solely when I am on my laptop, which limits my interaction with it compared to other sites.
As far as recommending Pinterest to a client I would say maybe. When I want pin something I search through Etsy for unique products, so if you are a smaller business you may have a better chance of getting your products recognized on Pinterest then a larger mass producing company would. Etsy has also placed a "pin it" button on their site, so they are using Pinterest as a main resource to get the products on their site noticed. I think Pinterest's future will lead to promoted pins. Promoted pins will be photos that larger companies have paid to have show up on the "Popular" page for many consumers, or maybe show up on a page multiple times.
Pinterest has totally taken over my social media life. I have 19 boards on my Pinterest from Recipes, Fitness Inspiration, Wedding Plans/Ideas (I'm getting married this October), to random boards with shark pins. I would have to admit that probably 95% of my wedding ideas have started from Pinterest. I have found photos there, that have linked me back to Etsy, so I'm also utilizing other sites and blogs because of Pinterest due to the face that it will re-root you back to the "pins" original home. I think if companies were smart, they would utilize Pinterest for all it's worth. I would highly reccomend using it to clients, as I started it last summer, and have seen it grow tremendously in such a short amount of time. I LOVE it.
I have heard about Pinterest. My girlfriend had found many wedding decorative ideas on this website and asked me to look at it as well. I found it rather interesting. I actually found a lot of things I liked, for example, new recipe for a dessert. The best part is that you can follow these users. Companies can really unitize this website because the layout is more like a catalog. It reminds me of an “IKEA” (www.ikea.com) catalog. I really love this website because it creates a connection with users and their social photo sharing. I believe the best company that is utilizing this website is Martha Stewart Company. I not only see a lot of their products, but a lot of methods used by Martha for of cooking, creating, and crafting (http://pinterest.com/search/?q=martha+steward).\
Well, I've never used Pinterest, even heard of it or seen anyone around me using it. (Hope it was not my problem...) However, after I did some reserch about it on Google and its website. I found it interesting. I would like to describe it as a hotpot. Everybody can sit around the same pot, keep adding things in that they like and boiling them. On the other hand, I like the idea of the vision board style and that it "connects people through things they find interesting." I think Pinterest has its specialties as a social website and potential to go rival to its business. Fashion industry may find it valuable to advertise new designs through such media to draw attention.
I personally don’t use Pintrest, however I do use sites similar to it. Pintrest and sites relating to it are basically just great distraction tools. You will see students using it during class, talking about it on the bus, and even referring to their “boards” in normal conversations. Boards on Pintrest are like online pin boards that allow users to organize their pins (or findings) into categories. While I haven’t used it personally, I could see it being recommended to clients for creative vision and idea generating. While taking ideas directly from Pintrest wouldn’t be very innovative, using it to simply generate creative vision could be acceptable. I could imagine companies utilizing Pintrest in the future to help place their brands. Pintrest is essentially a large marketing tool where consumers believe they are simply browsing their interests, but in reality companies are placing their products right in front of the consumers eyes for brand awareness. I am not aware of how companies on Pintrest are doing, but I do know that companies on the other similar sites are generating interaction with consumers. By allowing consumers to come across a product, and further research it, companies are creating a relationship with consumers through these websites. Consumers create public personalities and interests for every that follows them to see. As more consumers and companies become invested in Pintrest, the greater chance of this site becoming the next big social networking platform.
I have never used Pinterest before, but I hear a lot about it and how much people like it. I have wanted to see what it was about and possibly start using it to see if I like it. Since I have never used it, I would not recommend it to a client because I don’t know what it is all about. I do know that is has become very popular and have been hearing about it a lot from friends recently. According to USA Today it has become one of the top ten social networks. I think that it could be a great opportunity for companies to use it because it has become so popular.
I think that Pinterest is really great! We all know that there are two different types of people; Left Brain and Right Brain. I think that for the right brained people that have been suffering with social media block paragraphs, Pinterest is just the solution. To be able to think and speak in images is great. I picture can say much more than jsut 140 charaters. Speaking of, I wrote this blog post about the Pinterest Logo, check it out! http://goo.gl/RW5Pw

I first heard about pinterest from my roommate and after checking out the website, I immediately wanted to hop on this new social media bandwagon.
When I went on the website to sign up, they said that I would have to be put on waiting list to be sent an invite to Pinterest which made this website even more alluring and exciting! A couple days later I got my Pinterest invite and I started to navigate this huge site. I love the concept of having a whole social media community where people can post about everything they love in life. Whether it is travel destinations, style inspirations or great recipes, Pinterest is a great way to post about all of your favorite things. More and more people are starting to use Pinterest so I think now would be a great time for companies to start making pinterest profiles. It is a great way to feature new products and get the word out there about your company and have people share your latest and greatest. Pinterest is another great outlet to do advertising for a company or product that does not cost a cent! Since I am still new to Pinterest, I do not really know how to fully utilize the website, so I do not know about company pages, but I think having company pages would be great for Pinterest.
