Creating a Facebook Cause Page
I decided to create a page about Apple, Inc. needing to create an application for finding volunteer opportunities within the United States. The name of the page is: Apple, Inc. Needs to Create a Volunteering App.
Response plan for responding to:
1.) Positive comments from supporters:
When people leave positive comments on my page, I would plan to respond to them as well as encourage other people who like the page to share the comment and try to create a conversation with fans of the cause. It is really important to create dialogue between consumers and companies/brands, and it is also important for cause and community organizations to do the same. I will also thank the supporters for commenting positively on the cause's page. I will also look at their pages and see what they are posting on their pages. If any of the content is positive and could possibly relate to my cause, I will return the favor by sharing their posts on my cause's page. I will also ask them if they would like to be a guest contributor if they really have the voice and passion to contribute something of value that my cause's community will relish. By communicating with and promoting the supporters of my cause, I will gain more awareness of my cause, and thus, build a larger audience on my Facebook page.

2.) Negative comments from opponents of my cause:
When people leave negative comments about my cause or attack my cause, I will approach their comments in the same way I plan to approach positive comments, by communicating directly with the person who left the comments but, instead of doing it publicly, I will allow them to communicate with me offline by posting a comment apologizing for them feeling negatively about the cause and allow them to contact me through my email. I will also delete or block the person if they continue to post negative comments on my page. Negative comments can sometimes become a positive thing for a company/brand, and in this case, my cause. Negative comments can help me to refine my cause and develop my cause to incorporate those people who are opposed to the cause, and get them to want to be a part of it. If I do decide to comment on a negative post, I will be sure to keep my response positive because I do not want my supporters to see negative content from me. This way, it will let the person who wrote the negative comment look bad instead of the cause and me.

3.) Questions from media who want more information or who want to follow-up offline:
If the media wants more information about my cause, I will allow them to communicate with me directly through the Facebook page, or any other means of communication they would prefer.
4.) To pitch my cause and Facebook page to reporters and bloggers who may be interested in promoting it, I would show them the stats of how important community service and volunteer efforts are for the current generations of 14- 35 year olds. These generations more so than any other generations place a high importance on volunteering and helping those in need. They also care a lot about protecting the environment. This will be a beneficial cause for reporters and bloggers to support because it will get them awareness and it will resonate well with the generations that are using social media and the Internet the most.
