2018 Predictions

The first day of 2018 started off a bit rocky for me but I have a feeling that the rest of the year will be filled with nothing but success, happiness, opportunity, and love. I will be graduating from the university in May and needless to say, I'm filled with joy. I can't wait to see all my hard work pay off and celebrate this accomplishment with my family and friends. During this year, I expect to receive a job offer in the fashion & entertainment industry working in PR, traveling and enjoying beauty of the world with my friends and finding other ways to do what I love and make money in return. I want to walk in my purpose all year! I also expect for Trump to get impeached at some point during this year. Hopefully it happens sooner than later. Fingers crossed! 

2018 has already been one of the most influential years I have ever experienced. This year has already given a voice to the voiceless and demanded a change in our societal standards. I have complete faith that 2018 will remain a year of change and encourage more people to speak up about important problems. The Larry Nassar case, in particular, has inspired many changes in our society including those in legislation. It has brought together a community of people whose actions are to ensure that nothing like this will ever go unnoticed or happen again. I believe that this is just the beginning of things we are going to see in 2018. What other changes do you think our society will go through as this year progresses?

This year I am focusing solely on improving myself physically, mentally and emotionally. I have started focusing on my health, redirecting my attention and becoming more financially literate. Throughout my college career I have been working two jobs, maitaining a social life while jugging 4-5 classes. It has been very difficult to find a healthy balance between these things. However, things are taking a turn for me. This year I have already secured an internship that allows me to quit both of my jobs and maintain financial stability. In addition, I recieved a large financial blessing and have also been building upon and solidifying my brand. I am declaring that 2018 will be a year full of traveling, self-enlightenment, financial stability and career setting. I live by the saying, "if you claim it and work towards it, then it will be yours". 

This new year marks an exciting, yet confusing time for me. In the spring of 2018, I will graduate from Michigan State and begin a new chapter in my life – a chapter where going to school and being a student is no longer a role I will play. This year will mark the transition I will make into the working world as an employee ready to start the rest of my life. I know this year will be stressful and present many challenges. graduation, I am planning to move back in with my parents and hopefully find a job working in the metro Detroit area. I predict (as I have already discovered some) that searching for jobs can be frustrating. My biggest fear is getting stuck in a position that isn’t what I expected or not something I want to do. To avoid stressing about it too much, I am focusing more on building a strong professional network online and in person. One of my goals for the next few months is to reach out for informational interviews about particular jobs and positions I might be interested in. Based on that goal, I predict I will be spending a lot of time rewriting and revising the content of my online portfolio, polishing my resume, applying for jobs, and immersing myself in the interview process. I also predict this semester will fly by, so I want to enjoy it while it lasts!

Globally, I predict we will become more dependent on the internet. As people around the world continue to purchase smartphones, information becomes more accessible. From a new media standpoint, I predict more companies will be focusing on building up their brand’s online presence. Additionally, I think companies that haven’t already will start considering content strategy and what they can do to reach their audience better. Another issue related to the internet and access to information is privacy. I think there will still be disputes over companies and their privacy policies. I think more people are becoming aware of sharing out their personal information, but the real harm comes when people don’t know they are sharing data with the world. I think this topic will continue to be at the forefront going into this year.

I'm very excited to see what 2018 holds. Although we are at a very senstive time in America, I truly believe that something great is coming. My predictions are that we will see the beginning of autonomous vehicles roaming the streets, new social media features that will connect us even more, new discoveries involving medicine, and more. I hate to say it but I believe we will experience something very traumatic this year. But, in light of that traumatic event, it will bring us together to realize that we can all progress and grow as a country through postivity and technological advancement. 

My 2018 will be super significant year for me. I am finishing up this semester and then heading to London for the summer. There, I will spend 8 weeks in an internship, and once those 8 weeks are up, I will be spending 3 weeks travelling around Europe exploring. Once I get back to MSU for the Fall semester, I will be finishing my last 7 credits and working at the College of Arts & Letters until I graduate a semester early in December. After I graduate, I don't have a totally solid game plan yet, but I want to look for media jobs in major cities like Chicago and New York. I am hoping to have a job pretty soon after graduation. 2018 is a year of change and growth, and I couldn't be more excited for it.

There will be many stuff to through in this year, my first show in CUSA spring festival gala, more and more friends in the MSU, learn some new songs with my guitar and finish my college gradually. All the things above make me feel happy and expected. Also, there will be some thing may be a little unhappy. I will say bye with one of my best friend because he is graduated. I know we have to face happy and unhappy in our life, sometimes we may not control the emotion, but this is life. In this year, I will be a better me, I will inprove myself in any aspects. The most important thing is I want to be a happy person forever.

I believe 2018 will be a big year for me, which I am going to start my new life few monthes later. In may, I will graduate from MSU, and go to graduate school in September. I am applying six different school for their graduate program. The reason is after majoring in advertising, I found what I learned through all my courses are not enough for my future life, and I believe go to a graduate shcool can help me gain more pratical skill to achieve my career goal. I want to be an account manager in a in-house agency in the future. Social media has only appeared to our life for only few years, it is still new. I want to learn more about social media in my future study to better achieve my career goal.

I've already saw a lot of great events going on during 2018. From the entertainment industry to our advertiing industry. From my point of view, I think many revolutionanry things will happen in 2018, as a result many related industries will also have big changes. Just like the Tesla company lunched their new electric vehicles and other companies like Porsche are also following Tesla's steps. Personally, I also have a lot of things to be looking forward to like graduation, go to graduate school and so on. I hope 2018 will be a wonderful year.

2018 is going to be a big year for most of us in respect to graduation, starting a new chapter in life and starting to create our own careers and pathways. It is both exciting and nerve racking and for me is hard to even imagine how the year will turn out, because the opportunities truly are endless. We have studied for four years, taken courses that have equipped us for entering our specific industry, in my case, the advertising industry, however, at least for me, it is slightly intimidating. This being said, I came across an article from Forbes, The 30 Under 30 Game Changers in Marketing and Advertising 2018, where they highlight 30 advertising and marketing professionals who are under the age of 30 who have already achieved and assisted in achieving great amounts of success. From founders and cofounders of advertising companies, to copywriters assisting in creating award winnnig advertisements, to Nina Yiamsamtha, only 29 years old, who helped with the relaunch of the redesign and introduction to Instagram Stories, I am reminded that not only is it possible to be extremely helpful even at entry level positions, but that this industry is ever evolving. Just like every other previous year, new technology comes out, bigger better things are created, and I believe the exact same with 2018, and we are not only going to see it, but for us that are graduating, we are going to be immersed in it, and thats exciting! This year will be full of collaboration between experienced professionals in the industry and "twentysomething" year olds and everyone in between and I think 2018 will come with even more advancements in complex technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual realities, and the internet becoming even more integrated in everyday life, like mentioned in the Forbes article. As far as worldly predictions, I am actually quite hopeful and expectant of positive change. We have see quite a few negative stories in the news as of late, especially ones too close to home, however, these events have ignited a movement of equality, change, and a new beginning I want to be apart of. Overall, 2018 I believe will be a transitional year and a year I know I'll always remember.

I believe that 2018 will be a eventful year. As for myself, this is my third year in MSU. I hope that i can learn more about time management techniques and get things undercontrol, so that i will settle down my daily life and study. And i want to accomplish one of my goal, creating my own beauty channel on Youtube. I have followed Pony Tati and many other youtuber for several years. I often imagine that i could take a video to share makeup；vlog；or just talk up on current trend. I hope that i can take action this year. 

2018, I am so exciting. I made lots of plans for the 2018 last year, but only half of my plans will finish. Plan always different than the real life. 2018 is my last year stay in MSU, I will graduate in May. I am so exciting about it but also feel depressed, becuase I will leave MSU. I will finish my graduate degree in United state, My parents want me to have more experience to help me for the future business. I have done a lot of business with my friends before, even I didn't have a high success, but I never give up. And my parents alwasy stand behind me. After graduate, I want to spend 2 months travel around, see the world and think about my future. I feel 2018 this the year will bring me new experience.

I hope I have a good process because this is the most semester of my course. I hope this semester can get a higher GPA than last semeser. working hard and relaxing is very important for me. This semester should be reasonable with their own time. Travel more and take the time to prepare for a postgraduate study.

In 2018, I think we will make a positive leap in the fight against sexual assault, not just on college campuses, but everywhere. Due to recent events, victims of sexual crimes are coming forward, both men and women. There has also been a movement called #Metoo, which while good, has also caused some controversy, as some people use #Metoo to come forward, but stretching the truth. I think in 2018, becoming educated will help prevent false accusations, but also help victims gain the confidence to come forward. Rather you are Democratic or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, the movement isn’t about politics. Fighting against sexual assault is about better educating the world, both men and women, so we can not only prevent it, but better react to it. I think 2018 will be the year that happens.

2018 is my last year of being a student, I wish I can have a good job when I back to China. 

After 4 years study in a different county, I really miss my family. I had missed my sister's wedding, so I hope I can have more time stay with my family.it is really excited when I almost graduated, but I will still miss my school life.

2018 is a new chapter of my life, wish I can be mature and strong.

In my opinion, I think 2018 will be my most memorable year.  I have learned from my past mistakes, and I am now ready to apply those lessons to the future!  One of the biggest lessons I learned is that I don't have to wait until the "right" time for everything.  Sometimes you just have to start with what you have and learn along the way.

In my opinion, I think 2018 is a very groundbreaking year, because this is my last year as an undergraduate student in the United States. I will graduate in May this year. So 2018 is a very special year for me. I will step out of the campus into the society. I'm going to apply for opt to spend a year in the United States and then continue to read a graduate student, because my parents want me to learn more knowledge, but I want to work for one year to improve themselves and find my own shortcomings to continue reading. I think it would be more helpful for me to apply for graduate school. So 2018 is very special for me.

My predictions of 2018 would be Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA champion, even throuh there are lots of competitors out there. Like Boston Celtics, they are very strong team even without Hayward，but he will be retern very soon. And also Today's NBA is not like old days, all the superstars group together and tring to win a champion in their career. I hope it can change a little bit. All in all, I hope all the player out there can be safe.

There are too many new technology products in 2017. With the development of science and technology, 2018 will be a brand new era where artificial intelligence will replace people's work on a large scale. Driverless cars will be mass-produced and marketed. Humans will find that their workforce is being replaced by the machine little by little,  more and more workforce workers will lose their jobs. The network will further develop, 5G network will be born. VR and AR technologies will also be widely used. All in all, 2018 is the year of science and technology. It is an important node for all new technologies to mature. 

In 2018, I predict our world will become even more dependent on the internet. I predict stores and malls across the country will begin to close their doors, as online shopping is quickly becoming the preferred method of acquiring goods because of its convenience. I think it is going to become increasing difficult to get people out of their houses due to the convenience of food delivery applications and Amazon delivery services. I have also been recently seeing the push for grocery stores to have online delivery, which eliminates the shopping trip all together. I also think that we will see an influx of video sharing and live streaming online from companies and organizations. I have already seen on some clothing websites the shift from a picture of the clothing to a short clip or GIF of the model wearing the product and moving. With the popularity of SnapChat in recent years, I think many companies are going to start utilizing SnapChat to give live updates to their followers and potential consumers. I see live video streaming being the next best way for companies to give their followers a more personalized connection with them.

Since 2017 just finish up, and it seems like everything goes well on my whole year plannings. I do have expectations about year of 2018. I am planning to graduate on May. I hope my studying is still going well. I would like to finish up my personal profile in order to apply i job which i am interested in and connected with my EEP major when i am back to China. And i want to travel to East Africa to take experiencing of animal migrations and trying to do camping. It might be a good chance to take myself back nature. Thus, getting a job is my forst step for making this trip come true. I hope year of 2018 goes well as 2017 did.

In my opinion, 2018 is the breakpoint of both hospitality market and digital technology market. In 2018, the digital technology will be used extensively in the hospitality industry. The hospitality companies are trying to increase their awareness through the online social media channels. They post photos on Instagram, post videos on YouTube to attract more guests. On the other hand, hotel companies are bounding their loyalty program with the mobile apps. The digital technology makes the loyalty program much simple and easier. Therefore I think there will be some big movement between hospitality industry and digital market.

In 2018, I guess AI will be applied to marketing and sales to yield greater personalization. AI becomes more smart and human being. so, things like helping customers solve complex problems using the insight and know-how that only humans can bring to the table. The end results? Good news for robots, companies, and customers alike. they will get more benefits from AI 

2018 is the last year of being a undergraduate and this is the last year that I stay in the America. I wish I can have a very good time at this year and my grade can be very great. At this year, I want to travel a lot places in America during the break time and get to know more American cultures when I travelling. I also want to join a school club during this year to make more friends from different countires. For this year, I wish my home's network can be better than last year because at last year, the network often broke during I taking the quizes.

What a year this will be for all of us in the savvy digital age. I predict a lot will change with what is "cool" or "trendy" to do with social media in 2018. Many people are followers and once something new and exciting gets published everyone wants to do the same. I have seen this recently with Instagram stories-- out with Snapchat and back in with Instagram. We are curious people and we love to see what everyone is up to, that is why Snapchat grew so popular. Instagram now has a more chic way of sending out these personal updates with text, drawing tools, location, stickers, and filters that create a more artsy feed. I believe that every social platform will be trying new things to make them #1. Will it be with new ways to include video? Live video? Personal help/advice? Exclusive offers? With everything changing and everyone wanting to be the first to adapt I am very excited to see what will get immersed into our culture and change the way we communicate digitally.

I hope 2018 sees reform in copyrght laws. Currently, YouTube is able to step around paying licensing and royalty fees to artists/labels because of an outdated law which contains a "safe harbour" clause. This clause essetially removes YouTube from liability for the content their users upload. With YouTube's GIANT user base, the music industry is missing out on a lot of potenetial earnings.With recent changes to Net Neutrality, I hope to see 2018 yield more positive internet reform.

2018 is seriously an important year in my life because I will graduate on May this year! I think 2018 will be challenging and exciting for I am going to work in a place far from home. I feel like I will learn a lot more things than I used to this year. Also, I am hoping that the lake anti-pollution program which has been continuing for like 10 years in my hometown does work after I go back to China! And I am also hoping that I could help some poverty children in China this year.

I hope the world becomes a little more eco-friendly in 2018. I believe people are really starting to see the effects of global warming in ways we have never before. When climate change was first taught people were skeptical in many ways but as the years go by we are really starting to see and live in the damages. Every day I see a new invention that could make a small difference now and a huge difference later. I have always believed that it's better to start a year off poorly and finish it strong, as opposed to vice versa. Although the year has begun with tension due to the element of dismay that 2017 carried over, as a result of recent social and political events, change is inevitable. After watching Gary Vaynerchuk's speech at the 2016 Inbound Conference for our homework, I am convinced that one of the greatest take aways was that "there has never been a better time!" How people perceive their circumstances is both relative and influenced by their personal outlook. It is important to recognize that the choices we make now are what shape our future, and instead of dwelling on what isn't preferable, or what is wrong, it's mandatory that everyone focus their attention on how to make things right. Again, Vaynerchuk emphasized that we are free and have immense power over our lives. I think that millenials have begun to realize the power of that concept, and act upon it all the time. I hear countless stories about teens and twenty year olds who find remarkable success in endeavors such as modeling, travel blogging, social activism, photography, music, esteemed internships, and so much more. I believe that this momentum will only build in 2018. Our unique experiences will accumulate and we will gain "risk-tolerance," as Vaynerchuk put it. Before we know it, our generation will be taking on positions of leadership in our society, and we will be ready for it! Until then, we have only the present moment to focus on. With that being said, I anticipate 2018 being a year of continued innovation, learning, challenge, and growth for both our generation and country.

I think that 2018 is a creative year and gives me the expectation. First, I want to get good grade for all of my courses, which is important. Second, I predict that 2018 will be a important year for social media. I think that the 2018 will be a technical change year. Since I'm from China which is very developed in technical products. We already spread out the online paying for many years. I've notice that in America this kind of technique is not wide spread as I thought. It is very convience, instead of bringing out the card outside the door, the only thing that you will need it's your phone. It will greatly reduced the risk of losing the credit card. There are several shops that accept the Apple Pay which is very important for this technique to spread out widely.

I predict that 2018 will be a year of continuous political and technological change.  Throughout the past years, the political storm that is brewing between the left and right continues to grow, and international relations slowly decline with how America is currently running in office.  Tensions between media outlets and the political office with rise, but that is something that we, the people, need to actively work on changing. 

Elon Musk and the rest of SpaceX began making incredible process towards the end of 2017, and I am excited to see what they have in store for this 2018 year to come.  In every year, there have also been more and more improvements made in the medical field, which will continue through 2018.

On the other hand, the winter Olympics are coming up, and I look forward to seeing the USA kick some ass.

In the beginning of 2018, I hope I can get an excellent grade through this new semester. And as a traveller, I want to go more gorgeous place and travel all over the world. I am interested in take photographs to capture a moment that i can share with my family and friends so they can see what my life is like.

I used to write down some of my big year plans at the beginning go the year. 2018, this year I am going to graduate in summer, so I set up some plans about attending internships and going to graduated school, the decision I make for this year will probably decide my work and life in the future.

And as a Chinese citizen, I care about my country so much. I always pay attentions to the latest and the hottest news about China, especially the content about our president Xi Jinping’s decisions and the Chinese dream he always mentioned. The Chinese dream has four parts: Strong China; Civilized China; Harmonious China; Beautiful China. The Strong China is about economically, political, scientifically and military; Civilized China is about equity and fairness, rich culture, high morals; Harmonious China is about amity among social classes; Beautiful China is about healthy environment and low pollution. It’s glad to see we come more and more closer to our Chinese dream, and I’m looking forward to see which step we achieve in the 2018.

2018 will be a year of continuing change - social change, political change and economical change. Within the last year, movements have been started, careers have been ended and fatalities are everpresent worldwide. As a society (and as women, quite frankly), we are in a weird limbo area where we're torn between being feeling empowered and feeling like our voice will never have an impact. But if 2018 so far has taught us anything, it's that our voices do have an impact, and I think 2018 will be one loud, voice-raising year. It's a year of not accepting how the world has been run and a year of trying to fix and protect all that's been threatened, including things like DACA, women's rights, immigration laws and more. It's a year of reform, for our country and even our university. It's time to reflect and come up with viable solutions to improvement. The last year has been filled with devastating changes and events, and I honestly think it will be hard to make a comeback. To do that, I think America has to come to terms with the phrase "teamwork makes the dream work". Corny? Yes. Valid? Yes. There truly is strength in numbers and it's time to start adding up. I'm fearful for our future, but I'm hopeful it's positive, or at the very least, not detrimental to the state of our country and millions of lives. 

I think 2018 will continue the want for change that was started in 2017. It will continue this "enough is enough" sort of message that people started to call for in the past year. Most of those movements occured near the end of the year, and I think 2018 will only call for more change. Social media has changed the way social movements organize, and one article says, "there is more of a networking model of organizing. It's not just one leader, it's not just Martin Luther King coming as a savior. People, I think, are finally realizing that as great as Martin Luther King was, we are the change that we've been looking for...using social media opens up the scope of people that can be involved, which attracts the attention of the police and other government agencies for surveillance."I think social media will continue to play a very large role in the social movements that have occured over the last year.

My questions are, though, will any changes being called for, be truly successful and what role will social media play in any call for change? 

For predictions to 2018, one of it can be artificial intelligence will get a bigger step for improving. Maybe our life will be changed more by it. As the terrorist organization becomes more and more powerful and systematic, I believe this kind of situation will usher a big change that those countries which faced terroristic threat could corporate together to beat terrorists. What's more, as the development of the internet is getting more and more widespread, I believe the use of social media, especially like FaceBook, Twitter, Weibo, Wechat, will have more active users. And the speed of news could be more immediate. In 2018, we have the reason to believe people all over the world can live a life full of love and peace, just like the past every year we did. 

With the coming of 2018, I'm going to graduate from MSU and begin a new journey. I hope I will receive the offers from my dream graduate schools. This is the biggest thing for me personally. Besides, I'm looking forward the release of new iphone to see what innovation will they get in this year. I predict the summer of East Lansing will come earlier than last year because I feel it's getting warmer and warmer over the past four years. Perhaps this is due to global warming. Moreover, there will be many good movies to be expected such as Black Panther in Feburary, and A Wrinkle in Time in March. Of course the wonderful TV shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 are coming soon as well. 

When I was typing 'what is coming 2018' on Safari search toolbar, the first search popped up is "what iphone is coming out in 2018". It brought me a weird feeling— I am happy that I am taking this class as an elective when I am having my last semester at MSU. As a matter of fact, the appearances of Internet and smartphones boost up the use of new media and make new media become one of the essential parts of advertising.

In 2018, Apple's Face ID technology might get further developed be more accurately; after launched the SpaceX's Falcon 9, a rocket carrying satellites, Elon Musk might successfully send his Tesla Roadster to the Space; Blockchain technology might not only just to be used by crytocurrencies, but also transforms into the financial services industry, and other sectors of modern life; technology develops rapidly, and most likely will continue the growth in the upcoming years. 

A lot of great products have been innovated because of the development of technology. They really provide us a lot convenience and allow us to explore the different areas around the world(or even Space in the future). It's bittersweet for me—we are really shifting to the digital world that brought us a lot of convenience, however, I still miss the old days when I was at home waiting the 56K modem to connect to the Internet. But undoubtedly, we are shifting to the digital world and in 2018, the flow keeps continuing.

2017 was a monumental year for the United States. I expect 2018 to be a great financial year for our country as a whole as we build off of last year as an a economy. I forsee more newsworthy scandals to appear such as MSU's current nightmare dealing with sexual assault. Honestly, I would not be suprised if other major universities across the country comes to the forefront with possible cover up's / lack of instutional control. The media will still report and spin stories how they see fit as they have done the last two years. I really don't see that going anwhere as investigative journalism seems to be dead these days. 

Anyways, here is to a hopefully better 2018!

I predict that 2018 will be pretty fun year. We got World cup this year. Many people have been waiting this event for 4 years. I also think global warming in 2018 will get worse. There will be a North-South Korean summit because of Kim Jung Un. Many car companies will make many new technology that car can drive by itself, if driver just set the destination. I read an article that car companies already got the technology but they still need to work on ethical issues. I believe that there will be huge development on medical science, so they can save more people's lives. 

I predict that 2018 will be a very eventful year. It has been one month and we already have scandals at MSU that is being communicated throughout the whole world, a president that always has people wondering and technologial advances with VR and AI. I think this will be a year with a lot of technology and finding new ways to use it. I also think that this will be a year of enviornmental advances as well. As for local events, I think that MSU athletics will have a good year and that we will overcome everything that is currently going on. I am also graduating this year, so new things are coming my way. I'm excited to see what 2018 has in store. 

Numerous space industries are evolving; especially Space X is showing its technologies in our daily life as well as the universe. CEO Elon Musk has promised public travel in the space of a few years before and expects it to happen in 2018. Besides, the science of the inundation is developed by the influence of the space industry, and our everyday life will become more convenient. It is anticipated that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will achieve this.

As we begin a new year of 2018, one of my prediction is that there will still be a problem going on Donald Trump, whether he is suitable for a president of United States. Since there are still many complains and protest that are being held in US, it will not end easily and make confusion in people's life not only United States, but also for all the rest of the world. Also, I am expecting a huge excitement on sports events. There will be the top 2 biggest sports event in the world throughout the year 2018; "the Winter Olympics 2018" and "Russia Worldcup 2018." Everyone is waiting for such events, which will make people to enjoy the environment and travel different countries if they want to. Winter Olympic is being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the Worldcup is being held in Russia. Those two countries are not really a place that people tend to travel, so it would be very exciting and new experience for people while they enjoy the sports matches. 

My predictions of 2018 is that it's the year of block chain techonology. As for it has come out for several years but what we know the most about block chain is Bitcoin, which has rised over $10,000 at the end of 2017. There are lots of cryptocurrency has come out due to the mature of block chain technology. I believe it will be a trend.  Block chain is still not mature because lots of investors don't trust in its potential and regard it as a foam, but according to what has happened, it will rise sharply this year. Perhaps more and more technology will appear soon in the future. The issue about global warming will be talked more and disscussed more.
