Digital marketing is pretty amazing. I like it a lot and its what I do for work. The stuff you are learning in this class will help you in your future. And there is no telling where you will end up in your career. You may work in an agency, you may start your own company. You might work in marketing or communications at a company. The sky is the limit.

I am always on the lookout for great posts and today I found one that I think can help you succeed in the future.

This post by Paul C. Brunson titled: 20 Successful Habits I Learned From Working for Two Billionaires is pretty amazing. I agree with these suggestions and I want you to take a read and see what you think.

I really enjoyed this article, although it only has the first half there are still great tips on how to become more successful. I already do some of these with clients and friends but I can see adding in a few of the one that I dont. One of these tips "never eat alone" I am kind of confused on though. I get why famous people never eat alone but sometime I just want to go get some food real quick and read up on the news while I do it, I dont see how eating alone every once in a while is hurtful.

I really enjoyed this article. I hope these habits also help to me. First of all, I need to set up my mind differently, and I think I need to being not lazy.

This post reminds me how glad i am that i have taken this class this summer, I have already used the things I have learned to benifit businesses. With my  AroundCampus summer internship I had the opportunity to share my advertising knowledge with companies near Michigan State University and have been asked to privately work for them and their advertising. With that, I have started to create a blogs and social media sites for two local companies. I am turning a 50 year old marketing plan into something that will actually be benifical in this time and age.

Well, I would say that I think digital marketing is amazing too. I've never think about that one media can provide that big value in the marketing. After read this post by Paul C. Brunson, I feel there is really still a lot I haven't know. And I really like the Habits he shows us. Especially No.6, Understand The Power of "Leverage". And I really like the thing you said that life is a journey and learning from the experiences of others will help you go farther. We are still young, this world there is still a lot that we should learn.

It is obviously impossible for me to make comment on every single habit. I will just talk about the one that really inspires me. There is one of them called "never eat alone". I don't know if anyone knows, but it is also the name of one of the New York Times best seller written by Keith Ferrazzi, the youngest person to make partner and hold the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Deloitte Consulting who started as a poor nerd in Harvard Law School. He wrote about all the tricks and principles when dealing with different kinds of relationships, about dream big and how to reach it smartly. The every chapter I read I can use it on next day and it truly helps me a lot. It is really important to not be afraid to ask what you desire and step out of comfortable zone to pursue it. There is no harm of look far. Being realistic is not enough any more. Every remarkable footprint I made gave me more motivation to greed more and fly higher. I felt success and I will never stop.

I found this article very interesting and helpful for future success. I think it definitely relates to college students. I found it interesting when he talked about getting to your dream through teamwork. Overall I liked the success tips and I found them very interesting. The tips can be related business as well as just yourself.

I really enjoyed reading this post. This serves as great reminders that we all need when chasing our careers! I also think that people well into their careers can benefit from this article as well. What stood out to me the most was to never eat alone. Fantastic article!

Student

I really liked the insights Brunson had. I especially liked the idea of "investing in yourself". To learn that incredibly busy people like Oprah and Enver still take the time to exercise their mind and body in learning new things or maintaining health shows that there is no end to personal development. It also emphasizes the importance not allowing yourself to get stuck in a routine and to actively search for different things to learn and do.

One habit that surprised me was "never eat alone". It shows that to be as successful as Oprah or Enver, you sacrifice personal time in order to surround yourself with "information brokers". This ties into having experiences over material possessions. Through your experiences and who you talk to, you create an enormous range of knowledge that can be used to better your business and yourself.

I thought that these habits were very helpful in honing in my energy on things that can benefit me in the future. I find myself already being curious, and taking risks and responsibility. I hope to one day focus more on making everyday a day to benefit myself and really taking advantage of the habit of taking no days off.

After reading your blog post it provided me with information that will carry beyond college. Gives helpful advice for what to expect in your near future and to prep for all kinds of situations. Such as, how to network correctly and get your message out to the right people. All in all this post was great for showing to do some self-improvement and motivate.

Student

I think #3 makes a very good point: surround yourself with better people.  To be great, you need people around you who inspire you and motivate you to innovate and grow. Having people around you to push you enough to want to do better is the ultimate catalyst to a successful career. You're only as strong as your weakest link, so to be successful you need to surround yourself with people who invest enough time into themselves and their craft to also be successful.

Student

Being a senior and graduation coming soon, this article was a good guidance for advice for what to expect in our future careers. I think Paul C. Brunson made a lot of good points in this article and I especially like how he noted that taking enourmous risks and taking responsibilities for your losses are important because I believe that risks correlate to responsibility and not everything you do might work in your favor but at least you are getting out there and trying new things! This is important in success because you might make a thousnd mistakes before you create great success in your future, mistakes are only natural to come with this territory. However it is important that you learn from them and move forward!

Student

I found this article very interesting. I like that it focuses on self-development and how to better yourself and your surroundings. For example, number three is "Surround yourself with "better" people" and it includes a quote that states "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." I love this quote because it puts so much into perspective for me. Another thing that I liked about this article was that it was very honest and blunt. Lastly, it reminds me not to forget that "teamwork makes the dream work," because it's so critical to one's success these days.

Student

I found this article very interesting and definitely helpful for future success. I though the most interesting quote from the article was "you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with". I think that is true and it made me think about who you associate yourself with affects how you are viewed professionally.

Student

Yes! and I love your comment too! We really do never stop learning. It is incredible what you can learn from simply trying new things. The only real way to understand if you will fall into the career you are expecting out of college is to really get in there and get your hands dirty and see if you enjoy it. In my opinion, if you dont enjoy it, use your skills and knowledge to evolve your position!

Recently, all I ever see on social media are posts lists like this, for example, “10 Ways to Be Happy and Successful” and they’re usually all the same, full of broad suggestions such as, “let go of your past” and “never give up.” I’ve started to scroll past these lists to avoid reading the same thing over and over again. However, this particular list was actually quite interesting. I can specifically relate to number two which says to be curious about everything. This summer when I worked for Chrysler, I was able to meet many successful people and talk to them personally about their career path. One person who I really enjoyed meeting was the head of product placement and events with Chrysler, and one thing he told me was to always be curious. I remembered this because it was something that no one had ever told me before, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized how important it was. I think that curiosity is the key to learning and growing in any field, and that was something I will always remember.

Student

I found this article very interesting. I especially liked the focus on self development. I have always been told that you never stop learning, so it was nice to see this expression in practical application. I also liked his advice about networking and collaborating. Too many people focus on personal gain and less on experience and teamwork, his advice was very helpful and made a lot of sense.

Student

According to your post, 20 successful habits, I have learned very important habits during I live in the world. Also, I have sympathized with some of the habits which were be curious about everything, surround yourself with better people and don't go at it alone. I personally liked these three habits among other habits because I could feel and understand more clearly as I can sympathy with these habits. Moreover, I think better habits make better me. Thank you for sharing this great article with us.

Student

I really loved this article. I actually read this whole article. I really liked how he was a young professional and wrote his article like it. It wasn't super boring, it was entertaining and he used real life quotes to give an example for each tip. The tip that most suprised me was tip number one. If I was going to list out 10 tips to be a billionare I wouldn't ever considering taking time out for oneself to be a major tip in making money. But it is so true. You have to be happy with yourself and always try to expand your views by working on yourself. This makes me want to explore who I am as a young women in order to reach what I truly want to be in life.

Student

I liked this article. It gives me a lot of great tips. I feel I want to read this article again. I believe he had a nice opportunity to work for Oprah and Never. In fact, I was surprised when I read tip number four "Never Eat Alone." I wasn't aware about that and I will keep that in mind, this was a good read.

Student

Overall I liked the success tips and I found them more interesting because he was basing them off of working for billionaires. There were some that I felt weren't accurate such as never eating alone or never taking a day off. Also there were some that I couldn't really understand how it would help with success but he knows more than I do when it comes to that I'm guessing. I did think that there were a lot of good tips though such as focusing on experiences rather than material things and taking risks.

Student

I personally am torn about if I like this article or not. There are some tips where I feel like are necessary in life to make it enjoyable. Success doesn't mean we have to sacrafice our fun. Taking days off or having a meal alone give you the "me time" we all deserve every once in a while. There are some tips though that I feel really speak to me as a junior in college about to start in the real world.

Student

Obviously while working with Enver Yucel and Oprah he gained a ton of insight on how to succeed and the habits that come along with it.  I thought this was a great post and I gained knowledge I can take with me into the working world.

Student

I like a lot and it started me to think about my habits. When I read this article, I have to memorize everything because it is very helpful.

First, what I mostly memorize thing is "invest in yourself". I have to know who am I first.

It was good article

I find this list very inspiring as a college student who soon will reach another stage, i.e. working. Leaving the learning environment doesn't necessarily mean we have less to learn. The 20 habits Paul listed are nothing extraordinary yet often neglected by people, at least me, because I needn't know these habits could be life-changing. However, there's one habit I don't agree with is to take no days off. I think it is important to achieve work-life balance. I prefer enjoying some quality time with my friends and family during holiday without worrying about my work since I am already working hard for most of my time. Those memories are invaluable.

Student

I think this article really relates to the college kids and people that just graduated within the past few years.  I think this article is really helpful and shows what you can do to hopefully be successful in any profession you may choose to pursue.  One of the best things to do is learn and listen to people that have had success in their field of work and hopefully pick up a few good habits from them and help you with your field of work.

Student

I think these article gives me a lot of positive tips. These tips are very interestig. It helped outline some really basic principles of success that can be implemented right away. I never considered eating with others as a basis for success. I do some of the points in this article and learned a few more. Thanks for the great article.

Student

These tips are very interesting; I really liked when it talked about getting to your dream through teamwork. You would think that you want to get there and be better than your peers to get there, but it talks about doing it with others. I agree that you should never give up on learning and improving on yourself, that is something that I am currently working on, especially in my character and how I want to be treated through my own actions. This was a really good read.

Those tips are really good and specific for us.  When I read through all the reasons, I found out “Never eat alone”. I closely looked at them and thought it was funny. He emphasized the importance of information and people are the sources. I was surprised when he mentioned, “Identify the information brokers” I think even lunch time is valuable for people.

As a graduating senior, I found this article very inspiring. Michigan State has provided so many opportunities and I am guilty of not taking advantage of all of them. We all have the resources, intelligance, and ambition to be successful and we need to stop limiting ourselves. I have overlooked some of the points discussed, such as eating alone, and now I am inspired to invite a professor or guest speaker to get coffee. I found the most valuable tip of advice was to invest in yourself. These tips can be applied beyond a business perspective, these are great tips to help you develop yourself as a person as well.

Student

I thoroughly enjoyed to this read. Those 20 tips were short but straight to the point to success and also this article was entertaining to read. I completely agree with this article! I look forward this kind of readings and then implementing some of these into a regular practice of mine. I think it is never too early or too late to start great habits. Taking risks is such an important part of opening a business, and I'm finding that out more and more today. I spend much money on buying stuff but now I need to spend time and money for college life. I think this article might help many people to success life direction. This article listed important information for people like us to succeed.

I found this article incredibly helpful. While many of the things listed in this article seem like obvious things such as taking responsibility for your losses, I think that being reminded of things such as this every now and then is very helpful. The one that stood out to me the most was question everything. My mother has this type of mind. While I sit at home and complain about a problem I had at school, she looks at me and asks what is the easiest way to solve it. It is important to remember that if you have an issue with something you are probably not the only one and if you can find a solution you will be helping tons of people.

This article really hit all the points, the one that stuck out to me most was #3:Surround Yourself With "Better" People. The type of executives I was around before I changed my major to Advertising, saw my potential and didn't do anything about it. I was stuck in the same position in the same company with no important resposbibilties other than just sell. It led me to feel like I wasn't cut out for the business world, let alone a cutthroat industry like fashion. But to be honest, I'm glad I took the risk and joined a new company, H&M, where you are part of a team and a family. It's a company that makes me really happy and honestly being happy and being proud of your successes are staples of living a great life. This blog I read from Life Hacks, which is one of my favorite websites for every big solution to the world's smallest problems, published "10 Great Tips for Succeeding in Both Life and Business" and it's amazing what they say. My favorite? Be extraordinary!

Although I wouldn't at all doubt that these are habits of plenty of successful billionares, my main question is what did they give up (if anything) to pick up these habits. Knowing the value a dollar is a good thing, knowing you have plenty of money in the bank is a settling thing, but knowing how to lead is a skill that money can't buy, which is most likely how these billionares got where they are today. The habits that caught my attention most were in Part 1 of the article; #4- Never Eat Alone, and #7- Take No Days Off (Completely). In my opinion, never eating alone in a sense was forget about your alone time, or time to get in touch/reaquainted with yourself and values. To me, knowing who I am and making sure I DO take time for myself is an important quality I value about myself so this struck me as suprising. Another thing that suprised me was taking no days off completely. Taking time to strategize or talk about business while on vacation? Similar to taking time for yourself, I believe in order to furatively put your business brain to sleep, one must take time to relax and refresh themselves, without worries or thoughts of work; basically nothingness.

This was a very motivating article, one that was actually quite helpful to read at this moment. There are quite a few of those 20 habits that I should actually start taking into consideration for my own benefit and future. For example, I need to start investing in myself a little more. It is very important for a person to do this so they don't "write off future dividends in life" as Paul C Brunson said. AaAnother very important thing for people to do, one thing I should also do, is surround myself with "better" people. I love my friends and family, but surrounding myself with the right friends and the right people can really influence how I choose to live my life, and could impact my future in a much better way. I think that Paul C Brunson made quite a few more good habits that one should start to consider as well, such as taking the responsibility of your losses, understanding the power of leverage, and taking risks. Although some risks may not be beneficial in life, other risks can bring about great rewards. This was a very well thought out and well written article, one that I will definitely take into consideration into the future as it was motivating and informational.

With my current choice of career in sales each and every one of these points really made me feel that the rediculous amout of hours i have put in at work over the past 4 days will all be worth it in the long run. He talkes alot about not just focusing on your self which i feel our generation has sadly done but relying not on others to carry you but to walk beside you in your persuit of what you deem to be success. Granted success can be measured in many different ways but what all of these points seem to point to is the fact that if at the end of the day you want to come out on top and have what you want you need to be a well rounded individual who has enough connections that where they have faults they can call in reinforcements to brace the area making for a truely remarkable individual perfomance.

Student

This article was just what I needed to read right now. It's incredibly motivating. As a young person, who will be entering the workforce in months to come, I enjoy reading articles that will be beneficial to my career. This article not only gices tips for succeeding in your professional life, but also in life in general. For example the points like, "Taking Responsibility for your Losses," and "Don't go at it Alone." You need a support system, and that starts with believeing in yourself, and owning up to your trials and misteps. My favorite quote from the Brunson is," The moment you stop investing in yourself is the moment oyu have written off future dividens in life." You have to push your comfort zone, try new things, and get real life experiences. Never say "no."

Student

Lists are one of my favorite forms of writing so I was very compelled to read this article, and I was not disappointed. The article left me feeling extremely positive and confident about my future endeavors.

The third habit, "Surround Yourself with 'Better' People", was the habit that stuck out the most. My parents have always told me to surround myself with people that will bring me up, which seems like common sense, but growing up it can be hard to realize who is actually genuine. As a senior in college, I look around at the people in my life and know that they are genuine, successful, positive, ambitious and kind.

I connected to this article on a very personal level and have it bookmarked for future reference. It's amazing how influential and uplifting a post from someone's personal blog can be. This article also gave me hope for my blog that I am going to be making for this course. I agree, digital marketing is very amazing and I think I could see myself going into the field after graduation. The sky IS the limit. :)

Student

This article gives me a lot of positive attitude. When I feel disappoint or upset, I think I will find this article to read again to encourage myself. I really totally agree with the first tips “Invest in Yourself” because each person has his own specialty so we are supposed to develop what we are good at. In this way, we can make a balance between the interest and ability. So, I am always trying to find out what is my dream job and I am trying to have a deeper understanding about the areas that I an interested in. After reading this article, I just feel I gain a lot of positive thought and life attitude.

Student

This article was incredibly influential. Most people are craving for a success. These 20 tips by Paul C. Brunson can be excellent guideline for them. For me, the Habit#9. Take Enormous Risks was most impressive. Lots of people are afraid to try new things because they worry about the future risks. So they do not even try. I also get fearful before trying new things, but if you don't try, you don't know how it is going to be. The quote in this article, "If you're not taking risks, you're not making moves!" was so impressive. From now on, I'm going to put this 20 tips from this article in my mind and keep trying for my success in near future!

Student

I totally agreed with your opinion about social media. i think that the social media is great because we can share useful information with others. From the link about good habbits, the most impression for me is No. 10 (Do't go at it alone). Every team member has different advantages in their own field. so that, team work can exploit everyone's capacity. Similarily, it also fit in business. Accouting department has entirely different function with marketing departemnt. However, as a team or company, they has same goal is to make profits. For same goal, they may use own expert knowledge. On the contrast, if they can not work together, the effort may be less efficient. Therefore, working together also needs a meanningful and targeted goal.

This article was incredible, what a fantastic opportunity to work for Oprah and Enver.  I was most interested when Brunson said one of the keys to success is taking no days off.  Although being on a tropical beach seems great, one needs to be thinking that their competitors are not taking a day off, and that there is always room to improve ideas.  I also liked Brunson's point about leverage.  I agree it is true that people typically think being successful is being able to do everything perfetly, but not at all.  These successful people used their skills and talents to get them as far as they could, and then teamwork comes into play where other members do their part to pull the rest of the weight.  In an industry invovling billions of dollars, risk-taking is very important.  It can be dangerous, but there is also a possibility of never setting the bar higher.  Lastly, I liked Brunson's point about experience vs  material posessions and how most wealthy people look to buy the typical items suchas cars, houses and clothing.  However like Brunson mentioned, memories are priceless.  I will have to remember that point while searching for an internship or a job in the next few years, even when I'm not earning much as my salary.  Experiences such as those can make someone more valuable.  These points were well constructed by Brunson, and I hope one day I can write an article about my experiences similar to these.

Student

I think that I read this article at a key time in my life. I am a senior and will be entering the workforce soon. These are all tips that anyone my age could benefit from, especially those of us who will be going into the communication-related fields. It is important that I begin to prepare myself for the real world and make decisions that will benefit me in my career. I especially liked the point about surrounding yourself with "better" people. Spending time with like-minded individuals who have goals as big as mine will motivate me to hold myself to a higher standard. I have several friends who are very driven and will stop at nothing to succeed. I will make sure to allow these positive influences to keep me focused and encourage me to succeed.

I also enjoyed the point about focusing on experiences vs. material things. I love to travel and explore new places, so I will likely spend more money on experiencing new places rather than buying fancy cars or clothes. It was interesting to read that Oprah lives by this ideal as well.

Student

I found this article incredibly insightful. Success is obvioulsy something everyone strives for and I believe that Paul Brunson was on point with his list of habits. I especially think that being curious is so important, it is crucial to want to be aware of your surroundings and show interest in the way the world works. Sometimes I find myself often overwhelmed thinking about what it is going to take for me to be successful, however I believe my curiosity will take me places. Also, focusing on experiences instead of material possessions will change your life. It is very easy to get caught up in having nice things and showing off your money. After my study abroad program I can say confidently that experiences are everything. Adjusting to another culture was the hardest and best experience I have ever had. Reflecting on my past decisions, I think I could have used my time to cherish more experiences. On that note, I definitely plan to incorporate each and every one of his habits into my future.

Student

I read a few of the comments below and I must agree that this article is very useful for anything that a person might encounter. There are so many possibilities out there just waiting for anyone. You just have to be the one to get to it first. I feel that everywhere you go there is an opportunity around the corner and one must be ready to take advantage of it. These tips were very insightful and showed me that one has to be completing invested in whatever you’re doing. There must be passion and the will to take risks. Tip #10 really stood out to me and made me realize that help is a good thing! While there are people out there that are willing to put you down, there are also people willing to help you! Accepting the help and forming relationships will push you further than you think! I felt that this post was very inspiring and I look forward to utilizing these tips!

I highly enjoy reading articles like this one because they are really helpful and can be applied to every aspect in your life. These are great tips for your professional self but also on a personal level. Articles like this are also really amazing because he is sharing his knowledge that he learned from a person that is extremely successful in life. It is amazing that he would be so generous about sharing these useful tips. I have read the book "Never Eat Alone" by Keith Ferrazzi and it is truly an amazing read. It is full of steps to take for any everyday person to create success for themselves. In my spare time I also like to read Zen Habits to better personal life, which I believe helps in your professional career and I am currently reading "How Winning Works" by Robyn Benincasa. I think if we continue to knowledge ourselves on those who have been successful, we can in time create a better version of ourselves.

I think these advices of successful habits are pretty solid. I agree with all of these suggetion, because I think for digital marketing it is very important to be initiative and responsible. Among these advices I think "be curious...about everything" is the most important element for me to do well in digital marketing. I should try to be more curious about everything so I could share whatever I found interesting in lives.

Student

I think the habit that caught me a little off guard and surprised me the most was '#4 Never Eat Alone'. I never really gave something so mundane as eating dinner as something that successful people don't do. Most of the other habits are something I think we all know, but never fully invest in them, this was a good read.

Student

If you have the chance to read the book "Never Eat Alone" by Keith Ferrazzi it is a great read with a ton of advice and steps to help you better yourself as a professional! I have a copy of it if you want to borrow it!
