Google is known as the company that makes life easier. Everyday things like email, directions, news, blogging and calendars are available, and often times free thanks to this Internet giant. It only makes sense then that they would have an easy and efficient way for businesses to advertise their products and services. Their program, Google Adwords, give companies the freedom to create an ad and then decide what customers they would like to see the ad and how often. With this type of program guessing can be removed from the advertising equation.

Hey class. Lots going on this semester. I hope you are learning and diving deep into the digital marketing for your brands. We are still working on grading, so no worries. Also, you don't have to share resources - only comment on the class blog for participation. 

So does anyone have any big plans for Homecoming? Anyone going to the game? Go Green!

Doner Agency Tour

On Wednesday, July 11 we have our agency tour at Doner in Southfield. We will be talking with some creatives on their team. What would you like to know? 

Give me a question or two you would like to ask them and I can submit in advance. This is a great opportunity. I also encourage you to bring your resume and dress for success, as you can land a job on this trip!

 

What are you thankful for?

As we come to Thanksgiving week, let's think about all we have to be thankful for. Our health, our families, going to a great school like Michigan State University. We should also be thankful for all the digital tools that make our lives easier.

The apps, the voice activated helpers, the websites, the social media, etc. Do you have a favorite app that you are grateful for or a favorite digital tool that improves your life?

This summer Amazon has been on the move. Buying Whole Foods. Today was Amazong Prime day. Amazon is a category killer and seems to be killing more than one category.

Yik Yak and Spartan Basketball

I know many of you are on Yik Yak. This company has grown like crazy since it began in 2013. And this article in the New York Times talks about how it's used for some interesting purposes. Even MSU is mentioned in the article.

I'm curious how y'all use Yik Yak? Does it get crazy in some of your classes? What classes have the biggest Yik Yak usage from your experience?
