So when you graduate, what do you plan to do? Where do you want to work (city/state)? And what type of agency or client side?
As I told you when I graduated I wanted to be a copywriter and do television commercials at a top agency. Oh, does anyone plan to go to Portfolio School?

While preparing for my graduation in couple month 2015 May, I discovered that there are diverse fields or industries that I can jump into. After graduating from MSU, I would like work as a market analyst or strategic consultant at company. I have not figured out which specific company that I would like to go in, but I definitely would like to go for fashion merchandises or advertising agency as well. When I went to the career fair few weeks ago, I found out that Team Detroit is a company that I would like to work for within great atmosphere as well!
I graduate next year 2015 in May. I started to make my resume, so I can be ready for looking my work. I was planning to work in my country, but I decide to work in anywhere in United States. I do not have any type of agency yet, but I would like to work any companies. I am hoping to work in large city such as New York, LA, or Chicago.
I graduate this december, 2014. Right now my plan is to get an internship for the spring and if not just relax and take some time off from school. I would like to work my summer job that i have had the past 2 summers again. But if i do get an internship and get a job from that then i would gladly not work my summer job again. Im hoping to work in my home state of New Jersey or possibly even venture into New York City.
I am a junior this year and I hope to stay in Michigan for a while after I graduate and work for Pure Michigan. The world of social media is crucial these days with most everything being online, and it gives an employee a competitive advantage if they are savvy with social media and how to navigate their way through it. I believe the Pure Michigan radio and television ads are excellent and they really capture an emotion from the customer. The billboard ads along Michigan expressways are good advertising by promoting puremichigan.org. Even Pure Michigan’s Instagram page connects with their followers by featuring spectacular photos people have captured around Michigan. I have spent ample amounts of time on their website and their YouTube channel watching videos and sharing them on my Facebook page. If a company can create this much excitement and emotion about working for them through their advertisements, then they must be doing something right.
I am a senior and about to graduate this December. I came to Amerian in 2011, stayed for 3.5 years to finish my undergradate education. I am really impressive by many"American style" of things, like holding the doors for next person coming in, say thank you before you get off the bus. I think I am going to take a year gap to learn more hard skills in Design and take some interns. I am really appreciate my family offered me this oppportunity to study in America, which really make a differnet on my life and my personal vaule. I can't say I like it all, but I really learn a lot here.
I am a senior now and I will graduate next Spring. When I was a freshman, I just imagine when is graduation day will come. Actually, time is always passed quickly. I plan to find a internship during my senior year. And I prefer to work as the media, TV or film jobs. MSU is place that is full of my memory. Although I hate cold weather a lot, I think I will miss the beautuful snow white after I leave here. Although each final week of semester almost killing me, I think I still will miss main library. At beginning, Spartan spirit is one of the reasons why I choose go to MSU. So, Go green! Go white! No matter wherever I stay. I will always remember I am Spartan.
Even though I won't be graduating for another year or so I figured I could add to this blog post of my future plans as of right now, so they could change by the time I graduate. Currently my plan is if I do not get a job right away after I graduate in Advertising I will probably get a job for the State of Michigan so I can pay of my student bills as soon as I can. I really want to move out of the area though but with a serious relationship, that may be a challenge getting my boyfriend out of the state. So time will tell where we will end up. I think I would like to work directly with clients but I guess I would be up for anything someone asks me to do right after college and I will eventually move up in a company that I enjoy working at and can do the things that I want to do.
My plan is o stay here at Michigan, the come back sate, where I believe will be immense opportunities for graduates. I want to work in the field of economic and business development, more of non-profit organizations as communication specialist. After two years of graduate study in Michigan State, I really like the people here.
I'm not graduating this spring, I'll be walking in May 2015. The career I'd like to go into would be in the music industry, hopefully working for some major record label and eventually starting my own. I've learned a lot in this class not only about marketing items and services, but marketing yourself as well. Seeing that this is what I'll be doing eventually, this class has been the greatest learning experience I've had in college.
I am really hoping to find a job in sports media, sports is one of the biggest passions in my life and I would really like to go into that field of work. However I would also like to work for a social media marketing company as well. I plan to look for jobs in Chicago right after I graduate , I would love to live in Chicago the first few years after college before I settle down. Like I said before i really hope to work in the sports marketing field, preferably within the social media marketing department.

I am still unsure of which route I want to go when I graduate. Honestly, I would be happy with taking more than just one route because there are so many facets of advertising that interest me. For a long time I just wanted to stay in Michigan to be close to friends and family, but now I am not so sure. I really would not have a problem moving out of state and getting involved with a big agency. Honestly, I would love to work with E entertainment or E news. Moving to California would be amazing. But who knows!! I am so happy I decided to take this class. It has taught me so much. I feel better prepared and I feel like I have much more of an insight into part of the advertising world.
Thank you for the kind words and for a great semester! I've learned many interesting concepts that I would have never learned if I hadn't taken this class. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to utilize my newfound digital marketing knowledge in my future career as a CPA. If I ever get the chance to audit a company that has large Marketing expenses, I'll be able to understand the reasons behind why they are investing so much money in digital marketing strategies. I'll be working at Deloitte in Detroit as an auditor. Overall, I think people that have careers in marketing and advertising are really lucky to have a job that allows them to think outside the box and be creative. Best of luck to you and thanks again!
It is hard for me to wrap my head around the idea of being in a green cap and gown at this time next year. I feel so fortunate to have received my education from Michigan State University and I'm excited to see what life beyond East Lansing has in store for me. I want to work as a PR specialist in either working in Detroit or Chicago. Currently Ford Motor Company is on my radar, having just completed the Ford College Ambassador Challenge. However, for now I'm looking forward to soaking up my last year I have at the best university on earth.
When I graduate I hope to get into the outdoor industry. I am hoping my public relations internships will help me land a job for a PR firm for outdoor brands.
When I graduate I hope to work in the fashion industry, hopefully for a great company in chicago. I want to work with the media side and marekting a company!
I wanna be in Chicago, working in an agency promoting food and beverage companies throughout the country.
I plan to get a full-time paid internship here in Michigan after I graduate. This class has really opened my eyes A LOT about digital strategies. I wouldn't mind interning at Ingenix in the summer. I want to work at a full agency after I graduate still pretty much want to be an account manager.
This class has helped me a ton and provided me with plenty of knowledge about didgital marketing that i never knew. I currently wont be graduating this year but this class will help me this summer with the internship in marketing i have.
After graduation I will most likely be looking into more schooling. Education never hurts to have and getting a good one when you are young is much easier than doing it later down the road. After hopefully going to grad school I plan to work with my father in building and developing multiple CCRCs (Continuing Care Retirement Community) I plan to use some of the knowledge I have learned in this class to push this company to the next level when it comes to advertising. I will have the knowledge necessary to help the company excel. I am grateful for what I have learned in this class and plan to apply it somewhere down the road. Thank you for a great semester.
I'll be gradutated after the summer. I'm getting into the sales side of marketing it looks like. All my experience has been pushing me in that direction. By I will be doing an internship this summer that will include some social media promotion. So I'm expecting this class to come in handy. Go Green.
I still have one more year until I graduate since I'm a junior right now, but upon graduation I hope to work in digital marketing or Google AdWords and Analytics for a company such as Patagonia or lululemon. It would even be amazing to be an account manager at Google itself. I don't have a specific city or state that I want to work in but I think the Pacific Northwest in an outdoorsy, artsy town would be cool.
I look to graduate in May of 2015 with a degreee in Advertising Media & Managment. I will then plan to move back closer to home and probably move into New York. I see myself moving into a real estate career, where my advertising degree will benefit on a day to day basis. This course will help me in my online marketing needed to sell resedential homes.
When I graduate next year, I definitely hope to do some work with digital marketing. Ideally, I would like to be working in downtown Chicago at an advertising or PR agency. I would also be interested in doing some sort of event planning, but even then having digital marketing skills would be extremely useful.
When I graduate in May of 2015, I would like to work with at a PR agency. I just accepted an internship with Suburban Sports Group working on their Corporate Communications. I am really excited for the opportunity to finally put all this knowledge to work. This has been one of the most helpful classes that I have taken so far at MSU and I want to thank you for turning me onto digital marketing. I hope to obtain another internship during the upcoming school year and I am excited to see where this career field takes me! Thanks again!
I graduate in May and couldn't be more excited. I plan to move to the Bay area in California to puruse a career involving new media. I manage social media and public relations for MSU Media Sandbox and Such Video currently. This class has helped me tremendously with those jobs as well as my future. I hope to working in a creative agency where I can also use my graphic design skills and love for typography. Great class, was one of my most favorite at MSU and definitely learned the most about new media!
I fortunately have another year before I graduate but when that time comes I hope to have a job lined up in a major city such as Chicago. I am not sure the exact field of advertising that I want to be apart of yet but I think something that has to do with promotional advertising or social media would be ideal. I am also specializing in PR so maybe I can find something in that as well. I hope that by the time I graduate I have some better idea of the job I would like to do but I do know that Chicago is a number one city I would like to be located in.
I'm a junior advertising student so I still have a year to find out completley what I want to do. I know that I for sure want to work for an agency after graduation. I would love to work on brand strategies and for more big picture ideas. I am very interested in digital marketing as well. I have an internship this summer at an agency in Grand Rapids so I am hoping that will give me more insight in what my strengths and weaknesses are when I start looking for a long term position.
Graduation is quickly approaching, and I can't believe it. These past four years at MSU have gone by so quickly. I currently have a part-time position as a Communications Assistant, but I'm looking for a full time position for after graduation. I've been looking at opportunities in the Detroit and Lansing areas, but I'd be open to Chicago as well. I'm interested in corporate/non-profit PR, but some agency experience may be helpful.
Although I'm still looking into possible careers, I would love a career in music. Possibly promotion or event planning. I haven't quite decided where I would end up living. I'd probably follow wherever the best career opportunity would be for myself, although I'm close with my family (& rely more on my mom than I like to admit) so leaving Michigan would be a huge decision for me.
I am currently a Junior Advertising major. I am not entirely sure what I want to do for a career. I have a marketing internship lined up for the summer and I hope that it will give me more insight into what I want to do. I really enjoy using social media, and who knows, it could be something that I want to base my career off. If I don't end up in marketing I could see myself doing something in management.
When I graduate I plan to live in Chicago and work for an andvertising agency. I'm not sure what I want to do exactly but that is my general plan.
This is my last Semester of my Bachelor's Program and I'm pursuing a career in Online Marketing for an e-Commerce company. As compulsory element of my program, I will have to do an internship. This will be in Germany as I am originally from there. I will apply for a placement at PayPal and Amazon and hopefully get the chance to gain experience in those interesting companies. I am not specifically interested in direct content creation. I see myself in project management lookign for ways to create corss-media marketign campains with a strong emphsis on mobile.
I am a junior and will be graduating at the end of the next school year. My major is in advertising: management & media. After I graduate I hope to work in a big city such as Chicago, Illinois or somewhere on the east coast, working for a professional sports team. I have had an internship for a minor leauge baseball team as well as the Detroit Pistons & Palace Sports and Entertainment. I hope to get a job working in the marketing department for a professional football or hockey team. I am also intersted in working for a sports marketing agency to gain experience on that side of the sports marketing world.
As of now I haven't completely chosen my career path, although I know that I want to work for an advertising/marketing agency for a while then possibly own my own company. I would really love to live in South Carolina or move back to Maryland where I lived during my childhood. I just can't belive my senior year is approaching so fast. Hopefully this summers internship will prepare me for my final year!
My four years at Michigan State have gone way too quickly. I can't believe graduation is not even a month away. I feel like I was just a freshman yesterday! Although I do not want to leave the best school in the nation, I am excited for this new chapter in my life. I will be moving to Long Beach, CA to be a sales corporate manager in-training at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. I am no stranger to moving far away since my home is 700 miles away in NJ, but it is going to be a bit outside of my comfort zone. I am looking forward to all of the opportunities that will come my way and to experience some West Coast living. The top thing I am most excited about is the beautiful weather I will get to have all year round! A nice break from the harsh Michigan winters.
I love this class very much! Even though at first I am not clear about what to do every week and it seems to be a little bit confused to me but finally I made it. I learned a lot from this class especially about the digital media. Now I know how to make a digital strategy for a company very well. Also, I realized that digital media is really significant to a marketing campaign. I will continue learning this in my individual study.
When I was a freshman, I know nothing about what to do in the future and I changed my major many times. But now, I'm clear about the future. I want to have a job about the Public Relations since I majored in Advertising. I'm interested in the PR world and digital marketing and I want to be a PR specialist. Hope I can get a job in Hong Kong after I graduated from MSU because it's close to my hometown. If I can get an internship before I go back China, I would prefer working in LA because its good weather and I don't need to worry about the cold and snow.
Honestly, I am not 100% sure what I want to do yet. Choosing a degree in Communication, I have many options of what field I can go into. I have always thought that I might like to do more of a Public Relations role. I graduate in August 2014 as I still have some credits to finish up this summer to complete my degree. I know that I will still be in Michigan for the next few years and we will see where life takes me after that. I would love to go into something digital though I don't feel that I am an expert by any means, yet. I hope to find a job that challenges me and pushes me to keep learning every day.
I can't believe that graduation is so quickly approaching. Even scarier is the idea that I'll have to be a "real person" in a few short months. While I won't be going into a career that is based around new media, I do think this course will serve me well in understanding the basics and the functions as they are. I know that I like seeing the effects of my work, and hope that in whatever capacity, I can make some sort of impact.
The main career thats caught my attention at the moment is being an entertainment specilized public relations consultant. Public relations in general is my dream but that specilization is something that i would really think i would be good in. As to where that job would be located i think the most logical places for that career choice would be in a big city like new york or LA even overseas in the UK would be great.
I plan to take what I have learned here and apply it to hopefully two different areas. For one I plan to take it to the marketing team I plan to work with if I go into corporate America. However I would also like to start my own business and follow my entrepreneurial spirit. I know that I will be able to help launch my business with what I have learned here and obviously will need to continually learn in this industry that seems to always be changing.
Oh and I would also like to live somewhere where it is warmer but only if I was still able to make trips back to the midwest and Chicago to visit family.
Honestly, I don't really know exactly what specialization I want to go in to for advertising but I do find digital media very interesting and I'm sure I will use it everyday in this career. I'd love to work out west, preferably in Colorado, and work with some of the resorts out there to try and get more traffic out there. Ideally I would just like to move out of Michigan for a while to experience a new place and work for a great advertising agency with great people.
When I graduate in the spring, I hope to work for National Geographic. Taking photos of exotic environments and animals in their natural habitats. I want to travel to places I have never been to see the world in a new point of view. I thinkeveryone should challenge thier comfort zone by pressing their boundaries, I surley will. I look forward to wherever my life goes and i am thankful for this class in teaching me virsatility in the online marketing world.
This class has honestly been a blessing in disguise. I thought it was hard at first and then once I got the hang of what to do each week I felt like I was learning a lot of valuable and relevant information. I was just in New York City interviewing at a few different Advertising Agencies and was able to use my experience from this class in the questions they asked me. My plan is to move to NYC in May after I graduate and to persue a career in Advertising. I want to work on the management side and work hard to grow my career there. Sad leaving Michigan but I'm excited for the next chapter. Thanks for a great semester!
I will be graduating spring of 2015 with an Advertising major. I have begun to rebrand a small business and will expand into bigger business by helping them build their vision of what they want the company to be. I will then move to work with the businesses to create subgroups of their products, such as Sunday’s ads. Another example is on websites, such as the top choices on Nordstrom to come up with subtopics to group things together like gifts for women, men under 50, 100, etc. This could form into becoming an editor or entrepreneur of a new company.
Although this is not my first year in college (I started back in 2006) this is my first year at MSU. I got my Associates degree from LCC and had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. Originally a theater major, I decided it wasn't practicle to support a family with such a degree, so I changed paths. I decided on Advertising because growing up my sisters always called me a walking commercial. I loved tv ads and knew most of them by heart. When I started to think about it I was surprised at how much I really did enjoy and almost have a passion about advertisments. I analyzed so many that I saw on a day to day basis without even knowing it. Since I am still so fresh to this path I am not sure exactly how I want to use my degree, but I am excited for whatever it will bring me!
When I first came to college I thought that figuring out what I wanted to do with my life would be an easy task. Ending my junior year of college I am still unsure of what I want to do, I am still learning about myself. I am very interested in public relations specifically the entertainment side of PR. I would prefer to work on the agency side rather than client. I am interested also in writing for a magazine. I want to get out of Michigan and maybe work somewhere in Europe or out of the country for a while.
I am still not exactly sure what I want to do upon graduation. I am graduating in 2015, and I am leaning towards the agency side. From what I have learned from classes and advertising conventions, I feel that an ad agency would be the best fit for me so I can feel out where I fit best. I have enjoyed this class because it has opened by eyes to the digital world. I also feel that I would fit great at a digital marketing company and help with digital strategies and campaigns.
I still have one more year left at MSU, so I still have some time to decide what exactly I am going to do. This class has made me interested in digital marketing and I would like to use it in one of my future jobs.
I'm preparing to graduate on the May 2017, and came to MSU at 2011.
Six years in MSU is literally long and long time.
But time flies. With two years experience in army led me much more stronger mental and also physical.
I hope to graduate without any accident, and I am looking forward to do it.
