I read the post titled “What to Expect from Ads on Snapchat” and it was interesting to see how more companies are sponsoring ads through this growing social media app. Yes I do have the app and have noticed ads such new movie films and other important events happening. Moreover, ads for me are a daily occurrence when I use other sources for social media so seeing an ad on Snapchat would not bother me at all. It’s pretty smart tactic for those companies who are to collaborating with Snapchat to reach their followers by showing sponsored ads.
I read the blog called "experiment with the Google display network." I want to do more google ads, and need to find the most cost efficient, and best keywords to use. Something new I learned from this blog is that I can run test ads. I didn't know about that, and I am excited to try it out. In the past, I have had some success with Google Adwords. I plan to expand on that, and generage more success with a larger budget.
This past week, I read the Choosing a Filter: Instagram Blog. I found the methods of building brand awareness on Instagram were interesting, but familiar. I feel like the success to growing most social media accounts are by including hashtags and engaging with followers, other brands, or social influencers. What I was very interested in was the methods of tracking Instagram engagement, since it is such a new concept for Instagram. I was not surprised to learn that Instagram did not currently have their own analytic service. However, I did not know there were other analytic services that could track a brands engagement on the site. I feel that access to these analytics will prove to be much more beneficial to a brand, than none or hand counted information. I also wonder how long it will be until Instagram unveils their own analytic tracking service.

Since again no new blog post has been posted, I will share my thoughts on one of your latest articles as found on Inbound Thinking - "Choosing a Filter: Instagram for Business". Your post discusses the marketing opportunity for business Instagram provides. About a month after Instagram announced that it would start running Sponsored Photos and Sponsored Videos, and about a week after it published previews of those ads, it looks like Instagram ads have arrived.
The first ad comes from designer Michael Kors. According to the blog of Instagram marketing analytics platform Nitrogram, Michael Kors gained nearly 34,000 new followers in the 18 hours following its controversial sponsored photo. Quite a successful start I believe.
The other day while on instagram I noticed the sponsored ads. I dont mind them coming up in my feed because they are very sparse. It actually got me interested in the prduct because it surprised me when it showed up. Typically people expect to see content from those whom they follow on their instagram feed. Having these foreign posts show up makes us take a double take and relook at the content to see where it came from. I think this is really benficial for the companies putting out these ads. I believe it actually generates viewership.
From the article "Call the right action." I learn that your blog should be as simple as possible. user friendly. so that everything is just one click away. this article isn't about the simplicity, but there's one part that mentions it. Most of the time we can be so focused on making good contents but forget about the importance of the simplicity.
I completely agree Woo Lee! If a blog is not user friendly, as with any product, odds are it won't succeed. People have to be able to know and fully understand how to utilize what the producer is offering, and if they can't— it will fail all together. Sometimes it's hard for people to keep things simple because they want to get so many points and amounts of information across to their audiences. In such process they may lose their main idea of interest. Therefore, it is crucial that they keep this in mind and are mindful of it!
All of the posts on the Inbound Thinking Blog are very helpful for individuals who want to enter the digital marketing industry. One of the most helpful one that I found is titled, "Web Design Terms to Kniow". Nowadays, maintaining a fully functioning and professional website are crucial to having a successful business, since this is often the first impression customers have of your company. Whether you are technology savvy enough to design the site yourself or you bring in web developers to do it, it is important to understand the basics of web design and the technical jargon that goes along with it. This will allow you to communicate any problems that the site may be experiencing with the web developers, and let them know what you want to accomplish with the site.
I have read through many posts on this blog and have found them all to be very helpful regarding online marketing. The post that I find most interesting is the post titled "Find the Right Email Marketing Service". This post is very insightful and helpful to anyone in the online marketing industry. So many people underlook email marketing when it is one of the top forms of marketing. Marketers need to understand the importance of email marketing and understand how to use dufferent tactics for different market segments. During the summer, I worked for an email marketing company and we discovered through research that having the "right" email marketing service makes all the difference. For example, through research we found that customers are 9 times more likely to follow through with a lead if you respond in the first 5 minutes.
I would like to address again how beneficial this course has been. At first I found it to be a little challenging but as I got more used to the assignments, they became much easier to me as I realized how practical they were. Each week our assignments mimic a task we could be asked to complete in our workplace one day. It is so great to use actual hands-on experience as opposed busy work or just weekly reading.
This course is the most applicable to me outside of my studies and homework assignments. I am glad I will have a strong background in digital marketing/media prior to graduating MSU!
i agree! i never really knew how to combine everything with social media, and post things which gerneate feedback from other posters. its a really cool way to enhance my business from my friends and family commenting on how much they like my work and website
What I thought that was interesting was Snapchats decision to begin showing Ads on each users profile. When Facebook first decided to start advertising it was met with some very serious resistance from its users. As an active user of Snapchat, it really didnt phase me at all when I saw the ad for Ouija. I just brushed it off and kept about my activities of sending killer selfies. When facebook did, All of my friends and even I were pretty taken back by it. I think that this is different because it allows you to see the ad or not-depending on if you click on it. No Big deal to me.
I read the article guide to choosing Twitter cards and I did not what a big deal the twitter summary card was. Now knowing what it does and how important it is for your Twitter. I think that this really shows what kids and adults alike need to do to make their Twitter more professional and have people take you more serious.
I think understanding and utilizing call to actions is one of the most important things about inbound marketing and internet marketing in general. I so often see them misused or poorly used and the marketer inside me cringes a bit...
I read the article titled "Guide to Choosing Twitter Cards." First off, I did not know the the term "twitter card" was even a thing. It is crazy that even a social media outlet that I use so frequently has so many hidden tools and tactics that I do not know about. I have used these cards before, but have never been informed on just how helpful they are. It is really cool that there are different ones depending on what you are trying to do. This way, we can all use social media in our own way.
I read the "Call the Right Action" post and I learned a couple of brand new ideas for my blog page. According to the "Call the Right Action" post it explains that all you need is the right phrases and pictures to attract people to your web page. By doing all the basic stpes like adding "Read More" or "Subscribe Here" will improve your page and keep people interested.
I read a few of the Inbound thinking blogs, I found them to be not only very interesting but helpful. Short but informational, these are the kind of blogs people in this feild are looking for. I enjoyed the "Call The Right Action" blog and liked learning about the CTA. I agree that many people are looking for quick ways to share the information they find.
I read the post titled "Call to Action". This post was very informative for me and I learned how to capitalize on inbound traffic on a website. It is one thing to increase traffic flow on a blog or site, but what do you want your site visitors to accomplish once on the website? This blog post details five common actions that websites typically suggest to visitors. these actions include: Social, purchase, form, read more and subscribe. All of these are things that you can encourage visitors to your site to accomplish in order to make your blog or website more successful overall.
Since no new blog post is given, I will share my thoughts on your latest articles "Web Design Terms to Know", as found on Inbound Thinking.
Taking a Web Design Class here ta MSU, I am just starting to learn the most important terminology. For someone just getting started in web design, or even clients, all the technical jargon can be pretty overwhelming. Especially the acronyms. Having somebody explain the basics in an understandable manner is essential. Here is another, more elaborate guide to industry terms, that should get you well on your way to understanding what web designers are talking about.
After learning inbound market from last week, I had google it and learn more about inbound market. I think inbound market is a new strategy to use for advertising for now because since social media is getting bigger and bigger, advertisiers could use inbound market to help their advertise to be more sucessful.
I had looked at "A Breakdown of Twitter Ads" and found all of the new options for advertising on Twitter very interesting. This past summer I worked with the social media platform daily, but this was before their big change. I learned a lot about how to engage with current followers, but not how to advertise on twitter. I fount it very cool that Twitter is able to help you reach your target instead of relying on the old ways of correct timing. I also found it neat that Twitter has analytics it provides along with tips on how to improve your campaign. All in all, I feel that since this renovation in August, Twitter is a much better platform in the social media realm than it was before! Great article!
I've checked out the "Call the Right Action" post and it really gives me some new idea of my blog. I used to think that I only need to post regualrly and decorate my web page as approriate and everthing is fine. However, in the "Call the Right Action" post, I find out that using the right phrases to attract audiences to stay on my web page is important and necessary. CTAs like "Purchase Now", "Read More" and "Subscribe" will lead your audiences to be more interested in your post and help them to learn more of what you are trying to say through your posts. It is not just a simple thing to build up a successful blog. Everything that we can find on a popular blog is useful and we need to learn from those blogs in order to improve ours.
I checked out "Web Design Terms to Know" and "Engaging Visuals: Infographics" and I found relevant interesting information in both. I'm currently designing and maintaining a website, so it was actually a great link that I shared with my coworkers. My boss told other colleagues that she "can't understand me when I speak HTML" so I'm hoping this little piece helps a little. I also thought that Sony website was unbelievable. I've never seen anything like that before!
The infographics piece was good too. I ended up signing up for infogram via the link given. I've always been a fan of interesting infographics and have decided to create one for the FAQ of my website that I'm currently working on. Very helpful stuff!
I read the blog post "What makes a good logo?" and I found some of the tips quite interesting! For the sustainable bullet, it says create a logo that is timeless or has a classic design and I thought that was kind of interesting because a lot of businesses tend to change their logo over time, even if it is minor. For example, Pepsi has changed their logo over the course of time, but they still manage to keep their colors and their ball. Also, I think a lot of times people over-think what goes in to creating a logo, but something really important to remember, is to keep it simple. Overall, this was a really good blog post that I definitely learned from and a lot of people could possibly benefit from reading this post.
Reading "The Breakdown of Twitter Ads" was beneficial for tips on how to optimize my twitter profile. I learned I have to really watch out for the five objectives which are who your followers are, website clicks or conversations, tweet engagements, app installs or engagement, and leads. With these objectives you are able to pick your target audiance or the demographic you are going after such as age and gender. It also gives you many more tips on how to make sure you are drawing traffic to your profile.
I really enjoyed reading "A Breakdown of Twitter Ads" because it gives tips on how to do a campaign and different techniques to use for different situations. I am studying advertising and in each class we dicuss how successful advertising does online and how most advertisements need to be online because that is where many potential customers are daily. This blog post really helps because it gives a lot of tips that people might not necessarily think of while campaigning online. For example, to only use 120 characters instead of the max of 140 because twitter is strict on those who are retweeting something. This is a great tip because I don't think about this until it happens & then would forget about it in 2 minutes. Another great tip is to create a conversation with twitter users instead of just posting out there. Twittter is a great place to have quick conversations with many people at once. If a campaign is out there talking to customers and potential customers then it could create bonds with them and to the products or services.
I recently read the Call the right Action post and found it very informative. For me I just think of blogs as information like you mentioned in the post but some blogs have more to offer which I am now noticing after reading the post. I think having the call to action buttons do help blog readers like me know what I can do next in regards to the blog whether it is read more or to subscribe to something. When I use YouTube and I see something posted that I really like I will often subscribe to the person who shared the videos page by clicking the simple subscribe call to action. So, I know the call to actions really work well for me. In the future I plan on adding a call to action on my blog and other sites I may create.
After reading a few blogs in the website, I think inbound marketing is more important for marketing. Twitter now has spreaded out to the whole world, and it is become popular now. Using twitter and advertises it inbound marketing will make marketing more successful and faster. Now a days, social media is getting important in part of marketing since more people get invloving with social media.
I liked the most current post about Web design Terms to know. It was very useful information to me having worked at a tech start-up over the summer. A lot of the developers that I would work with would use this lingo all of the time and I was unsure of what they meant. If I had read this before I definitely would have had more of a clue of what they are doing when they are "fixing" something I have written up as a problem. These terms I will definitely make a mental note of!
I really found this blog interesting and full of information. I read several different blog posts and just was very interested into learning more and more about the topic. You could really spend a whole day on the ingenex blog, just learning about different things and getting really informed. I will most likely continue checking the blogs to keep learning
Another great read on this blog site was the blog posted called "Call the Right Action". I was not familiar with the term or what action it did but it was interesting to read that there are different forms to share information to a customer. Some of the forms include social, subscribe, and purchase. What also caught my attention is that there are blogs or pages that serve purely informational purpose and that most pages have action you want a reader to take. For example, like on Facebook when you like an article you read and what your friends and families it is easy to click the option and sharing it. This is an easy task to do and really gets the readers attention what your friends are reading. Also the purchase for is really effective knowing that with just one click away you can get that product or service you want to receive. I now have a better understanding of the forms of Call to Action.
After working with Google Adwords for this week's assignment, I was more interested in the native advertising happening on Twitter. The new Twitter advertising was released this past August and allows organizations, brands and users to market themselves following one of five objectives. I began playing with this feature in September to see how I can optimize my personal profile. But this feature is really best left for brands, not even large ones necessarily, but small ones, too.
Especially for something like Digital Marketing, I think the Ingenex blog is perfect. Not only does it serve your purposes of literally bringing inbound marketing but it informs those who want to know more about it, providing relevant information to them. This way, since people are actually gaining valuable insight, they may come back to the site for more and check out what Ingenex is all about.
The Ingenex Inbound Thinking blog is wonderful. It is full of relevant and important information. I think that each blog post I read were well written and were full of important knowledge everyone should know. Thanks so much for sharing this link!
I found a lot of the blog posts interesting, I like how there is a new blog posted every few days. It’s nice because you’re not overwhelmed with new information all of the time. I think it’s too much when companies post multiple things a day because not everyone has time to keep up with things like that. It’s also helpful because its useful information and we don’t have to read through multiple blog posts that aren’t very information and don't apply to us.
I'm glad you shared your Company's blog with us! I'll definitely bookmark it and give it a look occasionally, as I saw a lot of useful information on there. I really enjoyed reading the article titled "Engaging Visuals: Infographics". Last semester I took a class on visual design, and we learned how to make infographics. They're a fun way to be able to share loads of data and statistics. Allison Loehr had some great tips about infographics, and I'll keep them in mind next time I'm creating one!
I, personally, like the twitter card post. I had heard of them before, but never fully understood what it was until reading your article on your website. I
m curious how well Twitter Cards do and the feedback you get from clients.
The breakdown of twitter ad campaigns was very interesting! I never thought that there were so many different campaigns to choose from and then how that affects your payment system. Such as the Cost Per Follower when you are tryign to gain followers, I think these campaigns would be very useful for cpompanies. I also thought the tip about trying not to go over 120 characters per tweet so it allows people to retweet it which could help you gain more followers.
Your post on Twitter cards was interesting. I've never used Twitter from a marketing standpoint but tips like these are very useful if I ever decide to in the future. I wasn't aware you could link a landing page to a twitter photo. Your tips on when and how to do this were great. Thanks for sharing!
On twitter lately i have noticed that they are promoting a lot more ads on my timeline than normal. While scrolling down my timeline i will hardly notice that an ad was even there because it blends in so well. i think that this is a great way to advertise becuase i saw a video ad on my timeline that caught my attention, making me want to watch it and see what the ad was for. I think in the future twitter will keep promoting ads on your timeline but they will become more relevant to who you follow and what you post.
I have also noticed that on Twitter there has been a lot more promoting ads on my timeline. Even though I follow so many people and companies, when I scroll through my timeline I usually only stop when I want to read a specific tweet from someone I follow or if I see something interesting. Ever since the promoted tweets on Twitter began, I have stopped to read them because I am confused how they show up on my timeline. If it is a company I like or am interested in, I even follow them. Promoted tweets on Twitter are a great way to advertise because it catches your attention and is relevant to what you post.
I loved the Social Media Technology Vocab blog post. I learned about numerous new terms that I have heard, but had not yet really used. I learned that trolling is when people start arguments online in comments, forums, etc. For example "that celebrity is trolling for attention". I also was not aware of the word "phablet". It is interesting to look at this concept. It has been defined as a cross between a phone and a tablet. These are extra large phones. You give the iPhone 6+ as an example, but I personally do not think that it is a big phone. I think that the Mega, many LG phones, other Samsung phones all are bigger than (or equal to) the iPhone 6+ in some way. I am wondering what exactly defines a "phablet". A phone is a phone, and a tablet is a tablet. Tablets to me are not primarily used for the purpose of calling people. Therefore, I believe this term is a bit subjective.
This was informative!
Twitter is the best way to post advertising, when you optimize the blog and your twitter, you can get more followers and get more News as soon as possible, it is the easy way to download the staff. Opening LinkedIn advertising, this is the way to get information
I found the "LinkedIn Advertising Cheat Sheet" blog very informative. I learned that if you really want to grab professionals attention your ad must be well thought out . You must be aware of the do's and dont's of creating an successful ad because a sloppy ad will go unnoticed. I am still learning how to navigate LinkedIn and I appreciate discovering more ways of how to appeal to different business professionals. The tips discussed in the blog post will definitely help me in the near future and I will pass the information on to my family and friends.
I have noticed a huge influx of ads in my twitter feed. when companies can execute these ads simply and without much annoyance, I am fine, but 99% of the time, I am bothered and will go out of my way to hide them from my feed. One ad did such a good job, that I even watched the video and researched the product a little more. Other than tahat, i have yet to feel the effects of a positive twitter campaign using inbound marketing
I definetly have noticed during my personal use of twitter of the increase in advertisments used in my feed. I think it is creative to have them directly in my feed opposed to on side bars because they are in plain site inside of where I can block them out as seen on Facebook. Twitter is for sure expanding and growing to the public, but I hope they do not begin to overload it with advertisments.
I've noticed the growth in advertisments on my twitter account too! Sometimes it's noticeable to me and other times I just scroll over it without even noticing it's there. I actually noticed yesterday that Instagram is doing that too. There was a "promoted" Old Navy post with all of the people I follow Instagram post. This one confused me because I didn't notice the "promoted" part of the ad, so I actually clicked on their account because I thought I accidently followed them! If the posts aren't super noticeable I don't mind them being on there, but as the grow and expand I'm sure more ads will be put up on the sites. I like that the ads aren't noticeable, but I agree with you, I hope that they don't start overloading with advertisments!
I agree with the idea of seeing more advertisements on my twitter. I do like it more than the side bars, but I'm still not a huge fan of all these advertisements. I feel like they are being forced on my rather than them making an impact. I will be very dissapointed if they start to overload twitter and facebook with advertisements, but I do think that is the direction both social media sites are going towards.
I read the blog "E-commerce is following the trend towards mobil" I've been always interested at e-commerce towards mobil. It really increased the sales and offered a more accessible way to consumers. I found out there are so many different companies already using e-commerce throughout their mobil. Security is always the biggest issue, too.
