OK students, it's time to come clean. We all know Michigan State University is a wonderful place to be. But I'm curious, what makes it amazing for you? Is it the great classes, the campus, sports teams, fraternities or sororities, friends? Comment on this post and tell me why you feel MSU rocks.

I can tell you, I love many things about MSU. Campus in the Spring is amazing. The Football games are so much fun to attend, and I really like being a part of the Spartan Family. And tonight MSU should beat Purdue in basketball. Let's Go Green!

The thing that makes MSU so great? Everything! I mean it! MSU is such a big school and with nearly 45,000 active students, it's hard, even impossible to not find something for everyone. Whether youre loud and outgoing, or queit and quirky, there is someone else here like you, and we are given the tools and the interactions to find our own niches. Every day doesn't have to be a party if you don't want it to despite the common conception people get about our school, but it can be if you want it to... Just go out there and find the place you belong, becuase it's right here among everything else!

Personally, I love the Advertising program at MSU, and that is specifically what attracted me to this place. As I started to attend school, I found out about all the possibilities on this beautiful campus. Although we are here for mainly the winter months, I love enjoying the open space and the leaves changing colors as seasons change. My family are Michigan fans, so seeing MSU beat UofM during the past year was definitely a perk.

What makes Michigan State a great school has an endless amount of responses. Some of my favorite things about Michigan State are the tailgate and football games. The entire city of East Lansing comes together and the campus allows me to drink Bud light at landmarks on campus. The scenery all over campus is constantly beautiful and we have the Red Cedar river running through the entire campus. Every year since my freshmen year our sports have been ranked top 25 in the nation and has brought a positive vibe to the campus.

There are many great things about MSU. One of my favorite things has to be the fall season on campus overall. Falls brings about cooler weather, and football. Along with football comes tailgating. Tailgating is my favorite thing about MSU. It brings all the students together in one collected effort. There is green and white all over campus, and the smell of the grill and beer is in the air.  Also all the leaves on campus start changing color and everything is cool. Since my house doesn’t have AC, fall makes me happy because I can finally go to bed without sweating. Football games are the best part of fall. All students attend the games and they are amazing. There loud, and everything is having a great time. There is no doubt, that fall is my favorite time to be as MSU.

I love almost everything about my school, that's why i chose to come here! The campus is absolutely in the fall time which is great, but my favorite part about Michigan State University is the althletics. Football and Basketball are especially the sports I like to watch and it's an incredible feeling knowing how well both teams are doing this year. I have season football tickets and have been to all of the home games and beating Michigan was awesome! I haven't been to a basketball game yet, but i deflinitely will be making it to a few since i'm in my last year. We have such an amazing althletic program and it makes me proud.

My favorite thing about Michigan State Universtiy is by far the sports. I have grown up watching MSU hockey, football, and basketball. Some of my best memories were going to games with my Dad. I will forever be a loyal fan to the Spartan sports family.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is the campus beauty. Even though the winter weather is brutal the campus is still beautiful. Another thing that is awesome about MSU is that if you have had a rough day, maybe an exam got the best of you, there are 40K+ students and someone is always down to get a drink – any day of the week. The tailgating in the fall is something us Spartans take pride in, no one does it better than MSU. The last thing that I enjoy at MSU are the professors, I haven’t had one that was unreasonable. That’s no joke. I attended CMU for a semester my freshmen year and had two professors that were just mean down to their core. But really, State is great!

What I love for MSU is the campus view. I stayed for summer break, that was my 1st year for staying there for summer semester. I always was in campus for spring and winter, so all I saw was trees has about to bloom or falling. Those views were also good to see, but summer that all of the plants bloomed looked so beautiful. My home country's summer temperature is like hell because the temperature is so hot that makes people cannot travel outside at all. But for michigan, was suitable for everything. The temperature was not so hot and cold, so everytime when I have time for doing something, I went outside for watching all the nature thing.

Holy Cow, there's a question that's not aboutsocial media?!?!? YES!!!! This social media hermit is happy, indeed!

Growing up in a college town myself (Notre Dame territory, don't judge), I can honestly say that my favorite part of being a spartan is the famous SPARTAN PRIDE!!!! everryone has it, we all bleed green, and its contagious. I've been to college games all over the country and NO other school has shown the love for sparty like our school. We are truly a green-and-white unit.

State is truly special to me becuase it ensures i have close friends wherever I go. I travel a lot, and when i ask people where they go/went to school, I always run across a Spartan, and these people i meet in B.F. Egypt treat me like family - buying me drinks, inviting me back to their table for a meal, offering a place to stay or assistance, and so much more. The Spartan Love is universal and truly makes me proud... i can't wait to grow up and have a 'young spartan' ask me where home is... I'll say MSU, and offer my heart and home proudly!

GO GREEN, GO WHITE, SPARTY ON!

Student

It's hard to not be a little bit biased when it comes to talking about the college that you go to. But when it comes to MSU, I will stand by my school forever! There are countless things I love about Michigan State, and as I am in my fourth year here, I have experienced some pretty amazing things. Since it is fall, it only makes sense to mention that the first thing I love about my school is the campus this time of year. I absolutely love the atmosphere; the trees changing colors, everyone is walking around with their coffee cups, and I can't forget tailgate Saturdays! MSU is great even when it is not fall. I feel that the bond that this school has is undeniable, and the connections that you make are hard to ignore. Being a Spartan is not just a title that you hold during your 4-year college career, it is something that you are able to keep with you for the rest of your life. GO GREEN!

Student

Michigan State is an amazing college to be a part of. It has great sports, a huge campus, and plenty of students and fun things to do. Personally the reason why I love state is the people. I love the sporting games when all the students sit together and cheer on the team. I also love how there is so much to do here. There are so many clubs and ways to get involved. This also helps with meeting new people. It is nice having a bunch of friends I knew from high school up here because it makes it that much easier to adjust and have a great time but I also enjoy getting to know new people and making new friends.

Michigan State University is an overall incredible place. For me, the best part about MSU is that I can be anything I want to be. There are so many opportunities here and I truly feel like I've set myself up to be successful in the future. I joined a fraternity freshman year and I'll never regret that decision for one second. The amount of people I've met and the times I've had are truly unmatchable. I attend a very genuine university where I feel like my surroundings (meaning other people/professors/friends) really want the best for me. On top of all the great people, we have excellent sports! I've been a huge football and basketball fan since I can remember and being a part of it now is truly special. Attending a university where there is such great passion for our sports is very fortunate. Everyday is something new and a blessing. GO GREEN GO WHITE!

Student

First of all, for me as an exchange student from Germany, Michigan State University is a totally new experience for me. What I like most about it basically all comes down to the huge campus, which turns the university in a little independent village. I feel being part of something bigger and enjoy being around so many students all day. Almost every day, it is possible to join campus activities and get to know new interesting people. Additionally, for me as a sports fan, it is great to see how everyone cheers for the university's teams, which mostly play sports on a very professional level.

All this is very different from German universities. There are for instance no professional college sports teams and there are rarely living any people on campus. Most people go to classes by car, which does not really create a feeling of solidarity among the students.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU... that's easy. I absolutely love the community spirit as a whole. Attending a smaller middle school and high school, having too much school spirit was always an awkward thing and kids were too "cool". But attending Michigan State University, where burning couches win or loose is normal, hearing the roar from the stadium a mile away when we get a touchdown (hopefully), or just yelling GO WHITE is totally normal, is what makes me proud I attend the best Big 10 school in the nation. I love the community and how you can run into a fan on the other side of the country but still feel like best friends, even if its just for the night.

Student

It's almost impossible to pick just one thing about Michigan State to call your favorite but if I have to do so the people get my vote. I believe the people at MSU is what makes it such an amazing place. Sure there's a lot of them, but everyone is able to find there own group and connections with whom they please in order to make their experience here the best possible. Being bias of my friends of course, they're the reason I have enjoyed my time at MSU so much. It's hard to have and amazing University without amazing people.. so thats who should get the credit!

Student

It's hard to say what my "favorite" thing about Michigan State University is. Think about it... what's not to love?! From the world class academics, athletics and diverse community, there's something for everyone. Personally though, the best thing about MSU is the the immence sence of school pride. "Once a Spartan, always a Spartan" rings true in all aspects. Current MSU students and alumni have a huge network of people who all are connected by the university, and that's what I love the most. Sure the basketball team is great, and every place on campus is instagram worthy, but no one can deny the power of the Spartan Family.

Just thinking about MSU makes me want to drink and sing the fight song at the top of my lungs surrounded by my roommates. BLEED SPARTAN GREEN FOREVER.

There are so many reasons that I truly love Michigan State.  One of the main reasons I love MSU is  the people that I have met and the connections I have made. I have never felt like I have belonged more than I do now. Most of the people I have met are genuine and nice people. The campus also is simply amazing. Every time I walk to class I seem to notice something new and beautiful about it.

My first visit to Michigan State was 6 years ago when I was in high school back in Turkey. During that time, my sister was studying creative advertising at MSU and she wanted me to come and visit her. At the time I came here, it was very cold and to be honest I wasn’t happy to be here. I stayed here for about 15 days, mostly stayed at home, but at the end I still decided to come MSU for college. I’ve been here for 4 years and I would definitely suggest MSU for others as their college. After living in a city with an 18 million population over 20 years, for me MSU is a place with full of peace. One of the things that I like most about MSU is its environment. The campus is really big and active both day and night. People are very friendly so it is always easy to find a place to have fun. I think Michigan State University is a complete example for a college campus life.

Student

For me, as an exchange student coming from Germany, MSU is very different from universities back home, such as the size, the amount of students, the variety of offered sports or living in dorms. However, so far I really love this place as well as the people I met. It is a great opportunity for me to develop my personal as well as professional skills, meet new people, experience a different culture and simply have a great time before entering the working world.

What I find really amazing about MSU is the pride of the (current and former) students, the professors and the families of them as well as the whole city East Lansing about this university and being part of it - in all different kind of ways (especially sports). 'Go Green - Go White' was one of the first things us exchange students learned. Everywhere you go, you hear that phrase, see MSU signs, you can buy merchandise articles etc. It is wonderful to see such a cohesion.

Student

For me, my absolute favorite thing about Michigan State University is the pride. On gamedays and throughout the year, everyone truly loves their college and reps those colors. Another top favorite is the fall. The season is the best time to be here, and the best time to explore campus and see its true beauty, especially by the Red Cedar. It is the place to study. I can honestly say that this is one of the most beautiful campus' I have ever seen. Oh, and of course when the stadium is just perfectly in correlation with the sun, yeeeeah thats all good too.

I have applied many univeristies and I decided to come to MSU. At beginning, I came to MSU because my high school friends come here too, which will make me accompanied. However, I learn many things and experienced a lot when I am live here. The wheather is terrible I admitted, but people are friendly and our school has excellent dining halls! Professors are great based on my experiences and ratings. This is a convienent place too, where the CATA buses are quick and on-time. Many shops are nearby. Since I am an international student, the Asian foods and markets benefit me a lot. In conclude, I love this place very much.

Student

Michigan State University is the greatest place.  One my favorite aspects of MSU is the vast variety and amount of clubs that are on campus.  At the beginning of each year MSU has an event called Sparticipation, which allows students to view all the different clubs and groups MSU has to offer.  I learned about a club that i am in called the MSU Advertising Association at this event.  It really allows students to become involved and get connected to other students, future job offers, and other exciting opportunites.  Im so glad MSU has this event and it helped me get connected with other students in my future career field! Go Green!

My favorite thing about Michigan State is the comradery amongst both students and alumni. I'm proud to tell others I'm a student at MSU and enjoy the sense of making an instant connection when I meet other Spartans around the world. I also enjoy the school spirit Spartans have for their sports teams. I'll be graduating next spring and one thing I'm really going to miss about MSU is going to the football games and sitting in the student section. Another thing I enjoy about MSU is the campus. There's nothing better than crossing the Red Cedar on the way to class in the fall and seeing the beautiful colors of the trees and hearing the marching band practice.

My favorite thing in Michigan State University is the freedom. As I am a international student from South Korea, I feel the big difference with Amercian and Korean education system. Unlike U.S, Korean has variety of memorizing education. However, U.S education has more opinion-asking education than memorizing. Also, Michigan State University has better facilities and faculty than Korean universities. Specifically, IM WEST and main library have better quality of equipment. For the best advantage of being SPARTAN is the undergraduate program. As my major is advertising, MSU provides superior advertising curriculum.

I am not a sports person at all, so I am not in love with the sporty part of MSU (I know it's the huge part though). MSU amazes the most by its awesome Go Green tradition. Even though I don't yell "Go Green" in the sports field, I still feel really proud of being a Spartan, an being one of the green family here. MSU just has an amazing power to make people engage in everything here, its weather, its buildings, its ice cream, its classes, and everything.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is all of the opportunities that we have here. The beautiful women everywhere is great, but I've started my career already in the Music Business and I've hardly left campus since 2010.

I never could explain why I am so compelled to be at this university. It has a lot of similarities to so many other universities. But after my tenure here over the past three years I think I have finally discovered why I like this place so much. There is something unique about every university that makes the students change who they are. It changes the persoanlity of the person because every university has a distinct position with a specfic personality. Michigan State is just magicial to me because of the sincereness and inteligence of how the students learn in class, talk to one another and care for unfamilar Spartans that make me so proud to be one.And we're pretty darn good at sports, especially basketball.

Student

For me, the fall is the best. The spring is still to chili for me. I am from south, Michigan snow kills me. This year is crazy. Somtimes the soil in spring is wet and soft, walking on it is unpredictable. I prefer the fall. And the cedar and other yellows.

Student

It is that time of the year again. March is upon us and the festivities have already begun. Michigan State University in March could arguably be the best school to attend. It kick-starts the month with a week long spring break. You come back and slowly ease back into reality. Then the next weekend its St. Patty’s day, all the work you put forth to get back has now just vanished. After recovering from it all comes lazy days watching MSU basketball tear through the March Madness tournament. Sparty On

Student

My favorite thing about Michigan State University is that it's so big. It's a university! I came here quite unsure of what I wanted to get into. I've been three different majors... Communication, Psychology, back to Communication, and finally Advertising. I love that I'm able to switch between these and still get a quality education because MSU focuses on a excellent education overall instead of just having a few good programs. No matter what I choose, I'm in good hands.

Student

Spartans just wanna have fun! When Spartans do something, they do it big. That's what I love the most. There's always someone just as hyped-up (if not more) at every basketball and football game. No one ever says "went to an MSU game and it was super lame/boring/quiet". I also love the campus, I think it's beautiful (except when it's icy and I fall, I always fall). I think 99% of the student body are pretty cool and pretty cool looking ;).

Student

Before I'm able to understand what my favorite part of Michigan State University is, I think I'm going to have to put some distance between myself and said university. I grew up 10 minutes from campus and because of that, being at MSU has never felt special to me. I've always taken MSU and its campus for granted, something I'm aware of but haven't made a great effort to change.

I'm proud of my school and I am a loyal Spartan. Since I've been around MSU's campus since birth, however, being a member of this school simply feels mundane, and I can't single out one special thing I love about it. I'm pretty sure that will change as I age and (hopefully) leave the area. Until then, my favorite thing about MSU is finding new, out-of-the-way nooks to study in at the main library.

Yeah. I know.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is basketball. I grew up less than 20 minutes away from campus and, since my mom and both of her parents are MSU alumni, my family has had season basketball tickets since way before the Breslin days. As a kid, I couldn't wait until I was able to be an IZZONE member. Now, I've been in the IZZONE for three years and been a section leader for the last two. Basketball season is my favorite time of year.

Student

I love Michigan State University because all its sport teams rock. You see, every football game or basketball game, we get groups of MSU fans come to cheer up the teams and there are a couple of MSU souvenir shops close to campus. It does show the popularity of MSU Sports. Besides, the MSU campus is just a piece of art. All the trees, river, flower, everything, look so so beautiful. I can not love it more.

Student

My favorite things of my dear school MSU is the perfect atmosphere of whatever study or sport, the amazing environment and the delicious food in the cafeteria. Almost every Spartan is both good at studying and playing. At the daily life, MSU is one of the famous party schools in the U.S. However, when the final week comes, it is easy to see the library is full of students. And the campus is covered by afforest, it makes me feel comfortable when I walking through the campus. The delicious and various foods come from different culture and fill my belly every day. My Spartan life is so fantastic!!

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is the atmosphere and attitude of the students.  I love going places and seeing someone wearing a Spartan shirt and I shout "go green" and they shout back "go white."  I also really like the general positive attitude of the students at MSU.  It seems like there is a bond between Spartans.  I have met some of my best friends at State and some of my lifetime best friends go here as well.  I love this place.

Student

My favorite thing about msu is the tradition and history. Being the first land grant university and the first to allow black athletes on our sports teams should make us all proud. I also think we have a breathtakingly beautiful;both the architecture and the landscape. Having 2 national titles in basketball and 6 in football is something we can all remember and be proud of.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is the atmosphere. When i walk acrocc grand river and enter the campus, i am surrounded by a friendly and motivated student body. The buildings and architechture scream "acedemics". I also love how large the campus is, and the beauty that is associated with that. If i am bored or just want to clear my head i can take a walk down the red cedar and just enjoy the animals, sounds, and the beautiful scenary. I also love the pride associated with being a spartan. whenever i meet new people and they ask me what i do and whatever and i reply that i am a student at MSU i can just tell that they are impressed. I had to work hard to ge tinto MSU and when i finally made it in, i knew i was on the right track to success. I also love the city of east lansing and lansing. There are so many great bars and restaraunts to enjoy and experience. Nma eany type of food and you can find it in a bout a 10 minute drive anywhere from campus. I love that level of diversty. Also whenever i meet new people here, i am always impressed at how intersting and down to earth everyone is. MSU has a great student body.

Student

MSU has so much to offer, for as big as a university as it is, it gives students the opportunity to make it as big or as small of a school as they wish. That is my favorite thing about MSU. Going to the footaball and basketball games gives students a sense of being apart of something huge. Looking around and seeing your fellow spartans dressed in the same spartan gear and chanting the same fight song is the most inspriational and empowering feeling in the world. On a more personal level greek life has really made my time here at MSU. It has allowed me to meet people I would have never met and make the campus feel a bit smaller.

Student

MSU would be nothing without it’s long legacy of hard working students who go out to be successful in the world. The students make the university great, however, it’s the opportunities that are presented to us that allow us to be successful in the world after graduation. I’d say my favorite thing about Michigan State is that there are endless amounts of opportunities to grow and learn in whatever way we chose. From making connections at sporting events, to being able to sign up for the Quittich team (yes it actually exists on campus) its all about the chances that we get at MSU to better ourselves. I enjoy the freedom I have to choose whether or not I want to be apart of clubs, organizations and/or institutions. We as Spartans are extremely lucky to have such a large and vibrant campus life, and I can honestly say that is my favorite thing about MSU.

Student

I would have to agree with all of my fellow Spartans who have commented thus far and say that the top reason MSU rocks is because of the people who make up the University. From the faculty and staff, to all the students, and even the squirrels, I love everyone on this campus and alumni abroad. There is such a sense of community here, a community you can't find anywhere else. The community exists because of the Spartan pride that we all have. We take pride in the fact that "Spartans Will". We will succeed, and thrive, and proper to to do great things here on campus and beyond. This is why MSU rocks.

Student

MSU rocks because it has a huge, beautiful campus filled with a large student body. There are a lot of great people that I've become friends with here and I don't regret anything. Building relationships with people here and sharing our common love for Michigan State sports, nightlife, clubs, and events make my college experience enjoyable. It's always a great time during football season to cheer on our team with a ton of people bleed green and white and are amped up for weeks. The clubs and groups here at MSU are plentiful and they have helped to make many friends and learn so many skills. It's a great feeling to know that MSU will prepare for the life after college with all the classes and workshops I've attended here.

Student

My favorite thing about MSU is the big campus feel. Being a part of a large school gives countless opportunities to follow your passions and explore new ones. I have found a new love for art and design by attending MSU as well as continuing my interests in public relations and marketing both inside and out of the classroom. The network of MSU alum is incredible as well. I have been on vacation, seen someone wearing a State shirt and yelled "Go Green!" to which they instantly replied "Go White!". Instand connection. I am proud to study on such a beautiful campus and have met some amazing people. I will forever bleed green.

Student

What attracted me to Michigan State was of course the beautiful campus when I came to visit in the spring. But now that I'm well into my junior year, my favorite thing about this school is the people. The students here are the most well-rounded people I have ever met and am proud to say I am part of such a great student body. Becoming a Spartan was the best decision I have ever made.

Student

There is so many things I could say, but I would have to say the overall tradition here. We are always the underdog in sports but prevail(sometimes), our campus is hands down the best I've ever seen, tailgating here is the best, and we have every kind of food open late. Michigan State University has something for everyone or a group for everyone, including some of the most outrageous like Quiditch. Our academic stardards are high but we also know how to party, and with that being said another favorite part of MSU is Ricks.

Student

Hands down, it's the people. Between the drunk girls screaming outside my apartment to the frat guys sitting on their lawn every night shouting at passers by; there are some truly genuine people here. The kind of people where you don't feel like you have to live up to any standard or feel as if you have to be cut throat in your particular college. Every person I have ever met that has said, "Hey I graduated from there" has had a personal connection with myself, and it all started with that statement. It's something about this place, or just the kind of people who go here; it's electrifying.

Student

My FAVORITE part of MSU? That's a pretty tough question, and actually one that I run into occassionally.  Honestly, it is probably a cliche answer, but the campus takes my number one spot.  We are so lucky to have such a beautiful, and scenic campus.  Not only the natural aspects, but from the individual buildings to our downtown East Lansing, it's all perfect for a collegiate student.  The absolute best part of my time here at MSU, has been the student body.  Not only are we a unique, and may I say quite attractive student body, but there seems to be an attitude and pride that we have about our university that is nonexistent on other college campuses.  MSU has been the friendliest place I've ever had the opportunity to encounter.  And all of the friends I have made from my various experiences in my college career, have all shared the same MSU pride and respect that is seen throughout our entire campus.  And that is what makes it so great to be a Spartan.

Student

It's impossible to choose one favorite, because I love it here and have never for one second regretted my decision to come here (even when it's -2 degrees and I know I almost went to school in California)! I came here for Lyman Briggs zoology, for the beauty of the campus, and for the sake of being only a 4 hour drive from Chicago/home, but above all else, I came here for the people. I visited 8 colleges, and this one just had the most welcoming, helpful, and friendly staff and students. I had this really good feeling that I belonged here. That feeling has never faded, and I attribute that to the relationships I have built here.

Student

I've only attended classes through the Novi program so far, but I have visited for events and came down from Central a few times. Each time I'm in the area, I always make sure to stop at Menna's - what an amazing place. Back in 2008 I went to my first event on campus, the Funny or Die's Comedy Tour which was hosted by Will Ferrell and featured Zach Galifinakis as the opener along with Demetri Martin and Nick Swardson. Ferrell came out as Anchorman and interviewed Tom Izzo in character, and also did a segment riding around the stage in a rascal scooter. With the Novi program coming to an end, I'm looking forward to taking classes on-campus even if it will require a two hour round-trip drive once or so times a week.

Student

I love Michigan State's student body. There is such a diverse student body everywhere on campus. I love that everywhere I turn I can meet someone new from a a different part of the world. I love being part of such a large network. Spartan's are everywhere around the world and I love knowing I can meet them anywhere I am. I love the study abroad programs they have here too! I am going this summer and doing an internship while I am there too! They give us as many worldly experiences as they can. Most importanly, I love the sports teams. Izzone is amazing, but football games and tailgates are what make my fall! Sparty on! I will forever love Michigan State.
