Can Anybody Really Blog?

Long Time Listener, First Time Blogger

I think everyone can agree that the hardest part about blogging is coming up with a topic to blog about.  You want to write about something that interests you, but is also of interest to your readers.  If your content is only information that you really want to know it’s basically like telling a really long “you had to be there story.”  This is how I arrived at the topic of snowboarding, which has been a passion of mine for the last 12 years.  I figured I could make it interesting enough to the causally viewer who is aware of the sport, but like many others doesn

Two Tips Before You Start Blogging

Before I start today’s topic, I think I do not need to explain the importance of blogging in today’s world. Including myself, I have seen a lot of my friends starting blog, but did not get what they wanted to get in the beginning. Blogging 101

This week I learned that to become a good blogger, I need to first find my passion.  When I am passionate enough to spend my time writing about something, people will found excitement in my writing.  Nonetheless, before I move forward and start up a blog, it is recommended to read others' blog first.  By reading another people's blog and commenting on their posts, I will not only gain more knowledge about the subject of my blog, but I will also leaving my trace.  The more frequent I leave a thoughtful comment, the easier people would find me.

I chose the Outrage Fashion contest. The first thing I had to do was re-pin the contest pin onto my existing board. You can find all of my boards here.

How I optimized my blog

Optimizing my blog proved to be harder than I initially anticipated, especially considering the content of my blog.  I was determined to figure out the best way to get my blog out there so I began digging through the class resources as well as my textbooks.  The first thing I did was consult the Business Insider article about basic SEO tips.  After reading it, I discovered the importance of keywords.

The Biggest Three Letters About The Internet: SEO

I used several tactics to optimize my blog this week. I first created a Squidoo and Google analytics accounts. My squidoo account has a brief summary on this week’s blog post with a like to my blog. I have created the same tags for both my blog and my squidoo accounts to maximize traffic to and from both websites. By activating my Google Analytics account my blog will now get hits on Google. This is the best way to get traffic on your blog. I created SEO Titles and descriptions to more accurately get hits from visitors of Google.
